Good pizza. Fair pricing. Nothing phenomenal but still good when you're hungry. Would go back again

It's Sunday night, and I didn't feel like doing anything, including cooking. In Niagara Falls, there's only one place with acceptable pizza: Frank's Pizzeria. No arguing! Being in Canada with Buffalo and Niagara Falls, NY just a stone's throw away, we're spoiled for choice when it comes to pizza and wings. I ordered the classic Niagara Falls, Canada tray with pepperoni. For my American friends, this is a double tray with New York style pepperoni (not cup and char, though that's an option). Oddly enough, it's considered a luxury as a double item here! I eat and review a lot of pizza. I'd describe Frank's as a balance between Buffalo style, with its slightly thicker crust, and The Falls style, with its slightly herby, tangy sauce. It's a hybrid of the two. Is it good? Absolutely! It's got a great sauce-to-crust ratio. The herby, tangy taste reminds me of Sammy's on Hyde Park. The crust isn't as thick as Imperial Pizza, more like La Nova. It's a nice balance, though it's a shame cup and char pepperoni is a luxury here in Canada. That said, Frank's offers a great pizza with its own unique taste. Fair at best. Pizza dough was dense and like cardboard. Toppings were sparse and uneven.

We were staying at Greatwolf Lodge, and this was very close. We ordered a mushroom pizza for pickup and were pleased with the experience. The pizza was ready when we arrived and the employee was friendly. Overall amazing experience & place to go, it has a true "mom and pop" feel when you walk in. The pizza crust was good and held up well. It was still hot when we got back to our room.  It was a good experience and I would recommend it to anyone who staying in the area. read more

I moved last month to NF and just finished my large 3 topping pizza. I was disappointed in the lack of toppings but the service and timing was good. I tried Pete's pizza a couple weeks ago and they were much more generous with toppings and ingredients. I will try Franks again if Petes Pizza ever lets me down. read more

I've been hearing about Franks for quite some time but never tried them before until the lights went out and I didn't have enough power left in my phone to browse restaurants offered in the Skip the Dishes app. I had printed off a menu from Frank's Pizzaria web site previously and thought it was time to dive into their pizza. I wasn't expecting much as nobody that I've ordered from in the past knows how to do pizza the way I remember it as a kid on vacation to Niagara Falls. My uncle Dominic owned a pizzeria here but thats long since gone after he passed. My uncle knew how pizza should taste and apparently Frank's does too. I was blown away by their pizza. Even the sauce tasted like it was made by my own family. We may be a tribe of bigots and criminals but the one thing we knew right was pizza I'm really glad I ordered because now I will order from no other. The sauce was delicious and had just the right balance of sweetness and zip. They didn't skimp on the cheese either. I had the cup and char pepperoni which in my opinion. Is the only pepperoni that should be allowed on pizza. That or the authentic big round pepperoni you get in Chicago or New York. A slice of that stuff would cover a brats face. Cup and char is the best choice In Niagara Falls. I cant believe I've been living here 7 years and never ordered from Frank's before. I could have saved myself a lot 9f disappointment had I only taken other peoples advice seriously. This is seriously good pizza and delivery was under 40 minutes, served hot. Im broke AF but I may make Frank's a monthly treat. I have a lot to gripe about in this life. Frank's just might shut me up if for only one night a month. I got nothing bad to say about Frank's. Growing up I lived in this place. Aside from the falls itself, Niagara has the best Italian food around. Frank's is just a little place with a few tables, but the place is busy non-stop. They have great pizza, but you HAVE to go there and ask for the Steak Sub. It stuns me that no one in Durham region has never really heard of or had a good Philly steak sandwich. I've never been able to find anything outside of Niagara as good as Frank's steak subs. Go there have the standard one with fried onions, mushrooms and mozzarella cheese. Or kick it up with hot peppers, lettuce and tomato. I guarantee you it will be the best steak sandwich you've ever had. read more

I ordered a steak sub it came with canned mushroom slices for 18.00 aprx with delivery and taxes I expected real sauteed mushrooms. Very dissapointed and will not order from Franks again, they use to have the best Steak subs in town, sadly not anymore. read more

Absolutely disgusted with this place. Ordered a party tray and when we started eating the pizza I noticed a hair , thinking it was from myself or a friend there I tried pulling it off only to find out it was baked into the cheese. We call to let them know what happened, we talked to the owner and he esponded with they're closed and wouldn't come reimburse us a new pizza or the money back. I ordered from Frank's last week. I didn't find the place that great. The pizza (cheese/pepperoni/crust/sauce) is very similar to my favorite Volcano Pizzeria in Welland though I found Frank's crust much drier on the bottom. Like most Canadian places, there is a lack of cheese on it. They cut our large pizza into 12 causing some super small slices--weird. I find they are way overpriced for the quality of food, $11 for a large 14" one-item pizza and $6 for seven wings. Subs are around $6 each. You can sit down and eat inside after you order at the counter with some nice large wooden chairs to sit on. The decor is 1970. Staff seem decent. They are open 4pm till 1am seven days a week. read more

The sauce was non existent, the cheese was tasteless and the pepperoni was some mutant teeny pepperoni that looks like they took a slim jim to the mandolin and sliced it really thin. Ugh. My sister-in-law ordered pizza and a steak sub from Franks tonight and I was looking forward to is as she was praising the food as being excellent. That was one of the worst pizza I ever ate. I'd compare it to cafeteria pizza. Bland with what seemed like canned mushrooms, a dry and tasteless crust and rubbery cheese. There is no pride in that food. This was my first taste of Frank's pizza, and I do hope it was my last. There are way too many pizza options in Niagara Falls, try another place. read more

The service is amazing and feels like a family restaurant. The pizza is also super fresh and delish. My only complaint was with the wings. We ordered 4 pounds for a party (half honey garlic, half medium) and asked for extra crispy. They were not the least bit crispy and lacked flavour. The cost of the wings was more than the cost of the pizza so t was a bummer for sure. While I highly recommend the pizza, steer clear from the wings. read more

My wife and another couple are on vacation visiting Niagara Falls. I stopped at a small store near the falls to buy bus tickets and I asked the owner of the store if he could recommend a good place to get pizza. He recommended Frank's pizzeria and said they had the best steak subs you'll ever get. That night I went to Frank's to get pizza for carry out. I got a large pizza and a large Greek salad. The pizza was outstanding and the large Greek was more than enough for four people. Three days later we all went to Frank's to eat in. This is definitely a family run operation and they have not invested a lot on Ambiance. However it was clean and we ordered the steak subs which were without a doubt the best. The Workers were all pleasant and helpful and the prices were very reasonable. I would recommend Frank to anyone visiting the Niagara area. read more

I moved to the Falls recently and was searching for a good pizza/wing/sub joint. It took me a while after trying many other pizza places in the Falls but I finally settled on Frank's after trying their food. I usually alternate between cheese/pep pizza, suicide wings and a pizza sub. First for the wings, I had tried many other places before settling on Franks. The wing sauce and the quality of the wings are perfect. Their pizza is also a great mix of cheese/sauce/pepperoni, tastes as you would expect a 20 year pizza place making pizza's would taste, beautiful. As for the pizza sub, that is pretty simple, pretty sure they use the same type of pepperoni as on the pizza and a different type of cheese, the sub is great. Their prices are also very low, which is surprising given the quality of the food, they're also open till 1AM most days. This is my first review on Yelp, and I'm only doing it because I couldn't believe the other "Meh" ones. Hands down the best option for pizza if you are staying at Great Wolf Lodge (3min drive or a 15min walk). Was our 3rd time here and EVERY TIME there is a constant stream of locals picking up their pizza from Frank's. That says a lot. Definitely recommend the white pizza with broccoli and fresh garlic. Tasty and something different vs your regular pizzas. Their crispy crust is the best. Best deal is the 24 slice Tray size for $20...or splurge like we did and get Frank's Specialty White with 4 choices of toppings in addition to olive oil, fresh garlic and 3 cheeses for $27. Can't beat that value! This place will always be on my go-to list when staying on this side of the falls. read more

My family and I decided to stop in on our way back from Toronto to Niagara Falls, we were craving some pizza and Franks Pizzeria did not disappoint! The restaurant itself is very small and cozy which we love! I'm always looking for a smaller place to eat that aren't common chains and I defiantly found a winner here! We ordered a large pepperoni pizza with a order of garlic bread with cheese and buffalo wings. We loved it all! Everything came out fairly quickly and my husband enjoyed the wings so much that he ordered more to go. You can tell this is a pretty popular pizza place based on all of the people coming In picking up their orders. I feel every time I turned my head there was someone coming in picking up food which is a plus to know they are loved. The employees are so friendly! They made sure we had everything we needed and talked to us about our visit. Overall I'm so happy we stopped here! There's a few pizza places we've stopped at in Ontario but this one sticks out to me the most and when if I ever come back to Ontario You better believe Franks Pizzeria will be on my top places to eat! read more

We went to Frank's as suggested by a local. I had the back bacon sub heated because I wanted to try something new. The bread was delicious and the rest of the sandwich was flavorful but the mustard overwhelmed the meat and onions. Oh well. I got my daughter the mini cheese pizza but the large is a better value. She ate it but I can't say it was good or bad because she will eat any cheese pizza. It was good to try a local family owned eatery. read more

We ordered 2 pounds of wings crispy we received and paid for 3! My daughter picked them up.. she didn't even look at the bill.. well I got mine soaked and mushy in Frank's and BBQ sauce.. YUK!!!! And the other 1 pound was also mushy they were honey garlic .. they were not crispy.??? I paid 28 bucks for a very bad experience. This business used to be a great place to get wings and pizza??? Ordered a large cheese pizza on11/11/12. It's always tough to find good pizza on the road. Specially when you are from NY and your standard for pizza is really high. I was looking for a regular pizza joint. Nothing industrialized/chain restaurant. I thought this pizza was pretty good. The dough was soft and not to thick and not to thin. I would say that it's in the middle of a NY style and Chicago style. The sauce was good. Nothing bad to say about the pizza. I'd recommend it if you are in the Niagara Falls area. Better than any expensive alternative on the strip. Only down side was the delivery fee. Pizza was $10 and with Canadian tax and delivery it was $14.50. I'd give this a 3.5 out of 5. Take that as you will as my standard for good pizza is set high. read more

Probably would be a 3 star but it was very reasonably priced and the staff was very friendly. Food was good. We ordered a large cheese and some wings. GREAT for people staying at the Wolf Lodge. About 2 minutes away and you can save some major $ by going here instead of the pizza place at the hotel. I think they even deliver to the hotel. read more

Leaving a 1 because negative isn't allowed. Ordered a year ago. Stale pizza. Called just to inform. Started conversation by saying I don't want anything for free just letting them know. She was so rude. Waited a year to order again. Tonight all we got was ignorant people on the phone. Asked for green peppers on a sub and rudely was told they have never had green peppers. Asked for a total they said would call back and didn't. Pizza is usually worth eating but the service to order absolutely sucks. Tried for the last time to order from that hole. read more

Last night we ordered a party tray pizza from here. We were all eating and one of us found a hair in one of the last pieces of pizza. It was a party tray so there was roughly 5 pieces left. I called at 12:30 and spoke to a worker who was beyond rude to me so I then was passed to the owner who told me that we would get our money back. Before he agreed to giving a refund he got hot headed with me and started yelling at me. We were told after a while if we send what ever was left of the pizza back we could get a refund so we went and waited outside. It was 12:45 am at this point and I decided to call back the worker answered the phone and said "we're closed." When they closed at 1:00. I was a little thrown off by that. I asked the worker how long it would take for the delivery driver to get back to us, and she said it won't take that long that he had a few deliveries to make first. I said ok and I asked her why she answered the phone saying she was closed and she started getting defensive and rude once again. We waited outside in the cold till almost 2am with the leftover pizza. No one ever showed up so obviously I was a little pissed off at the fact that I had gotten lied to. I decided I was going to call back at 5:27 pm to see why the delivery guy never showed up. Which according to the woman I talked to tonight they were never going to give us our refund they were never sending a driver which makes it all worse and she said it was my fault because I was rude last night and I think anyone else would be rude as well if they got yelled at by the owner and treated poorly by the employees. I am so unimpressed by this because of you own a business you stick by your word you don't lie to your customers. That is an awful way to run a business they could have just told me that it wasn't going to happen but they led me on and such. Just warning check your food for hair people!!! read more
