A very nice, relaxed and small restaurant we loved. Own by a beautiful couple, he's originally from Italy and I failed to asked where she was from. They were very nice, the wife serve us and she was very sweet and attentive. We found this place by googling restaurants around the area and it was the only restaurant with a 4.9 starts. Every. Other restaurant had 3 stars or less. Being from the State this was important. We bought 2 pizza, one margarita and the chicken special. Also, a panini with prosciutto ( They used their pizza dough for the panini) and a lamb gnocchi. We were a group of 4, 2 adults and 2 kids. The panini was huge The food was unbelievably amazing. I've never eaten an entire pizza and felt like I hadn't eaten at all. Back in the States, one or two slices usually leave me feeling bloated, but not here. Even my 5-year-old son finished a whole pizza by himself, and my daughter devoured her entire panini and none of us felt heavy afterward. We were in Niagara Falls and looking for a place to grab some lunch. We passed by comparu and decided to try it. It's fairly small restaurant and seemed quite popular. Staff were friendly and helpful with ordering. Food: Comparu pizza - their pizza are quite thin reminding me of Neapolitan pizza from Italy. The meatballs were tasty and the pizza is wood fired with delicious char. Pizza sauce was good against the cheese. Ortolana pizza - delicious grilled veges - eggplant, zucchini, red peppers. I do think with the Neapolitan style, toppings more easily fall off as the vegetables are a bit heavy. All in all, really good pizzas. Definitely recommend eating in if possible. Price is pretty high and portions not that big so just be aware of that but quality is great. read more

Amazing! Delicious! They were able to get our big group in when I called ahead, very accommodating. It's a cute small space with a modest menu. But the flavors are all Italian, Bellissimo! We had the polpette (meatballs), bruschetta and several pizzas along with some wines and dessert. It was all wonderful. So glad we came and could fit in. Definitely give them a try. They have a garage door front so you can dine al fresco when the weather is nice. It's cozy inside to match the food. Don't let the small domestic front fool you. After walking back from the Niagara Falls we searched out a place to eat. Pizza sounded good so we came across Comparu. It was Saturday and 6:00 PM and the place was packed! The waitress said it would be an hour wait so we opted to do take out as we were right next door at the Marriott Courtyard. We got the Margarita and the Cappriciosa. We didn't even take time to grab a photo as we were staving and the smell was amazing. The pizzas did not disappoint! The crust is soft and chewy and the topping were excellent. If you had told me I would find a place that has good pizza in Niagara Falls, I would have said you were crazy. We were wandering and came across a sit down restaurant that just so happened to sell fresh pies. The hostess was very sweet and accommodated our fairly large party. We were sat in the table closest to the food prep area, which made my nephew very happy. He was very entertained watching the oven where the pizza was being made! This was a very interesting place. Literally, a garage location with a traditional raised garage door. With no clear place to stand & be greeted. Clean with a cute outdoor seating area. Dinner time! Busy restaurant, which you'd expect, given its 5 star rating. Server (1 and only one) I politely asked if she's by always herself. She shyly replied that sometimes there's another person. Judging by some of the other reviews, she's alone often. That being said, her work was outstanding. She out performed some fully staffed restaurants. Yes we waited a bit. But I've experienced much worse. She was friendly and moved quickly but not frazzled. Once our order was in, the food came out in good time. We Had: Pepperoni Pizza Calzone Bruschetta Dough had a wonderful flavor and sauce was terrific. I thought the dough under the pizza a bit too thin for the amount of cheese and pepperoni on it, but the flavor was so good, I'm willing to look past that detail. Calzone was outstanding. Big enough to share....like we did. Great experience. Can't in good conscience give it a five. But definitely a 4 experience given what they're working with. Hidden gem in Niagara! Delicious pizza near the Clifton Hill area. It was a rainy Saturday and we were looking for brunch. However, we saw the high ratings for this spot on Yelp and had to give it a try! The pepperoni pizza here was the best. An incredibly cozy and quirky dining experience! My daughter and I were visiting on a spontaneous trip to the Falls, and we decided we wanted a delicious but not so fancy dinner. Not wanting to be disappointed, we checked out the local map, searching for restaurants with only the highest reviews. Comparu was it, with a 4.9 out of 5 on one site and a 5/5 on another! We went in at the perfect time, right after opening, because at the end of our meal, there was literally a line to get in! We had one pepperoni pizza, one margherita pizza, and one bruschetta as an appetizer. All were amazing, and the waitress was exquisite! One pizza easily satisfies two people, by the way. Wonderful Napoli style's pizza. Thin crust in the middle and over roasted and thicker on the sides. My fav. We chose the pepperoni pizza and asked if they could add black olives. They added Kalamata olives which was even better! Pepperonis curled up upon cooking. So good. We split one pizza and it was more than enough food. Service was excellent! One server and one cook were running the whole restaurant. The place is set up like a garage so the front of the restaurant is all open. We were impressed by each dish we ordered and cleared each plate! A hidden gem in Niagara Falls! This wonderful restaurant is just a short walk from the main attractions of Niagara Falls and SO worth the effort. Why settle for chain restaurant food when you can have authentic Neapolitan pizza and other dishes? I'm going to go out on a limb and say that even though this is the first place we've eaten on our trip, this is going to be the best. The only time I've had pizza this good was when we were in Italy, which makes sense because the owner grew up and learned to make pizza in Italy. He and his wife run the place together and you can tell how much passion they have for their restaurant in the food and in the service. We tried the namesake (Comparu) pizza and a calzone to start. Both were excellent and you could taste the quality of the fresh ingredients and attention to detail in every bite. The meatballs in the Comparu were hand-made and excellent and you could taste the fresh olive oil in the crust and the sauce. We probably wouldn't have tried dessert, but when we found out that the tiramisu was homemade, we had to try that as well and it didn't disappoint. Excellent in every way and some of the best I've ever had. A quick note about the service. The owner's wife was super nice and one of the hardest working people I've seen in some time. She single-handedly performed hostess, waitress, barista, and bus duties, somehow managing to take care of every table in the restaurant, including boxing up leftovers. Highly recommended! read more

Amazing authentic Italian restaurant - best meal of our whole trip! I highly recommend this business - tucked in an out-of-the-way spot, this place looks like a bit of a hole-in-the-wall restaurant when you first pull up. However, don't let that fool you! Interior is clean, nicely decorated and set up, with a half wall into the small kitchen so you can watch the chef use their wood fired pizza oven. Server was Italian, very kind, and very knowledgeable. They indoor seating was still open-air, and I loved it! Great place to eat lunch, quiet, and soft background music. Part way through our meal the Chef (who may also be the owner?) came out to chat with us and see how our food was. We couldn't pick just one thing, so we ordered the gnocchi pasta special that day, a caprese salad, and two pizzas - a white and a red. Everything was outstanding! Honestly, the spotted flavorful crust was so good! No crusts left behind here. We had a leisurely lunch and ended up ordering tiramisu and espresso for dessert. This was the perfect end to the lunch, and we happily took our meal's leftovers for an easy dinner. If you're looking for a hidden gem right by Niagra, but removed from the tourist crowd, this place is a MUST! Will for sure eat there again if I ever am back in the area, 10/10 experience. Let this be a lesson to myself... Currently this place has 4 reviews with no Elite reviews, to which I normally turn up my nose. However after seeing their pizzas, I knew we had something special on our hands. We stopped by and there was a huge family of Italians having a great time which I thought was the first great sign. Secondly, as we walked in and a random guy stopped me and said , "You have to eat here it's literally the best food in the area." Ok, green flags all over the place... After a short discussion, we decided on the lasagna, bruschetta, potato gnocchi with a meat ragu, and a spicy pizza, and tiramisu for dessert. I might as well cut to the chase, food was incredible. Service was short handed so go expecting a wait. But, BUT... I fell in love with food again on my last trip to Italy. And THIS PLACE! This place drops me right back where I left off in Florence. If you think you know what good lasagna is, come here before making your final decision. Their gnocchi...as potato gnocchi goes is fundamentally excellent. God I hope they don't skewer me for saying this but if the gnocchi would be sautéed in butter it would be fundamentally *perfect*. But as a test to see how good potato gnocchi can be, this was incredible. And the pizza.... I never thought I would have a Neopolitan pizza as good as Italy in Niagara Falls, Canada...?!?!? And yet here I am, shaking my head in disbelief at the meal I just had. Don't be scared. You'll pass many pizza spots on Victoria and near the falls, but keep walking. You'll see two really run down motels on the corner and know you are there. My wife thought we were in the Compton of Canada. lol. Pizza is amazing. It was less than a mile walk from the falls, if you take the long way. And I thought Canada wouldn't have good pizza. This spot has great pizza. Best carbonara I ever had. Meat was thick and crispy. Sheesh. I need to import this stuff. And they don't charge that luxury tax stuff. We shared two pies: a Margherita and a Capricciosa and both get five stars. The interior is small, quiet and quaint with the front open. We have been to Napoli Italy a few times and can say that Comparu is as good as you're going to get in Napoli. The crust has a good char and a perfect chew. What a fantastic find! We discovered Comparu on Yelp and couldn't be happier. The food leans more Italian than American-Italian--and that's a good thing! We started with a couple of appetizers. The meatballs were out of this world--so soft, so flavorful. I believe they were served in an Amatriciana sauce, and yes... we licked the bowl clean. The pizzas were also excellent, especially with those crispy little cupped pepperonis--oh yum. The crust was delicious, though the bottom was a bit soft, which made the slices tricky to pick up. Still, the flavor made up for it. We ended with the tiramisu, and wow--what a perfect finish. Creamy, rich, and just the right amount of sweetness. The restaurant is small, giving it an intimate, cozy feel. We were there with our kids, but it would be just as great for a night out with friends over drinks. This place is an easy A. I stumbled upon this little charming place when I was in a rush to get food after walking for very long. They greeted warmly and sat us immediately. We ordered 2 pizzas, a Margherita and a pepperoni. My kids know how to identify great pizza as they have had the best of the best and they loved this one. It was different in a good way. The pepperoni was AMAZING and had an excellent amount of pepperoni on it. The crust was on the thicker side, but I love it like that. On top of that, the folks there were extremely nice!! It was that kind of service that shows that they love to take care of their customers.
