One standout was the staff--especially the woman who seemed to be doing everything at once: hosting, taking orders, answering phones, and pitching in behind the counter, taking payments etc.. Despite juggling it all, she stayed friendly, patient, and helpful, even offering menu suggestions without missing a beat. It honestly added to the charm of the place. Food-wise, don't expect anything fancy or Instagram-worthy. Presentation isn't the focus here--but flavor and portion size deliver. Everything we ordered was hearty, satisfying, and reasonably priced, which feels like a win these days. Location is super convenient too--right off Route 15 with easy parking out front (next to a gas station), making it an ideal pit stop whether you're heading into town or back home. This place is nothing but a hole in a wall disguised as a pizzeria. Food was very bland and tasted like they were using old products. On top of that you get served with terrible customer service if you are Black/latino. What really ruined my appetite was the bald shrek looking manager who was rude asl and dismissive when the terrible service was brought to his attention. read more

Ordered a simple pizza and got a frustrating experience instead. The crust was undercooked, doughy in the center, and barely edible. Service was slow, staff seemed annoyed, and no one cared to fix it. Definitely not worth the time or money. I won't be returning. read more

I stopped here on my way home, craving ny style pizza. Disappointingly the didn't sell slices!!!! It smelled so good in there I had to ask what was cooking- it was onions! I ordered a chicken parmigiana sandwich and that was a total disappointment! It wasn't a whole thin piece of chicken cutlet but cut up pieces with a glop of cheese gluing the small pieces together. The bread was so soft not crispy at all. A soggy mess! The woman at the counter was very nice and the place though small had a few tables. This location was next to a mini mart and gas station. food was the worst shit I ever tasted, and they were so racist to us Latinos/Black. The services was so bad to us, they kept attending everyone really nice and keep checking everyone. But since we walked in, terrible looks, we started talking in Spanish, and they kept looking at us and whispering, too them 20 mins to attend us. Though there was only one table full, then once they attended, they didn't even bother to ask for drinks or anything just waited for us too order. It was so obviously we weren't welcomed. Then we got our food, and tasted all shit, supposedly the pizza is good here, but so oiling and just no flavors. And the pasta taste plain and tasted old. Needed gas. Needed pizza. I was able to get both at one stop. My 7 year old autistic son did not have the patience for the drive back to Lehigh Valley, PA. The pie was so good that we ate in almost perfect silence during the rest of the ride. The ambiance is very mom and pop. Let me start by saying the pizzas were delicious!!! This was my first time here and I called ahead to place the order. The lady that answered the phone was very rude. What I wanted to order, based on the menu posted on their Google Business Profile, was not current and supposedly what I wanted had not been on the menu for years. I politely suggested they should update it to help future customers. (I for one use Google all the time when choosing a place) Well, things went down hill from there with her response. I changed my order and went to pick it up. She was no less rude when I picked up the order. Great pepperoni pizza but not so good veggie pizza. With the veggie pizza, they used canned mushrooms and the spinach seemed like it also came from a can (little piles of green mush). If you don't have fresh mushrooms or spinach, don't use canned as a replacement. If you need to charge more for fresh ingredients, that's fine, it'll taste better. Won't get the veggie again but will definitely come back for the pepperoni. Loved the thin NY style crust and being from NY, it was pretty good. Wold have been a 5/5 if not for the canned mushrooms on the veggie pizza. Otherwise they make very good pies. read more

Last night, I parked my truck at this stop for the evening and seen this establishment attached. Due to COVID-19, the volume of to-go orders was huge and the kitchen was swamped. Despite the mad rush, the pizza I ordered was delicious. The only negative I had to say was maybe a lack of hospitality, but given the situation, I understand the lack of cordial from the staff as they were walking on top of each other in a tiny kitchen trying to keep up. I actually appreciate the sense of urgency to keep the kitchen running. Ended up eating here for the second night in a row. I like the pizza here. I get a sausage and broccoli, no-red-sauce pizza. It's very good! We all like the pizza here. Hot subs are good. Stromboli's are good. I wouldn't recommend the calamari-not good. There aren't many places to eat in Thurmont and this place and Kountry Kitchen are our favorites. read more

We've been here a couple times. Sadly, I'm not a fan. 1st: Their pizza is nothing that I'd recommend to anyone. Seems like that they go cheap on the dough, sauce, & cheese. 2nd: last time we were there, service was pretty disappointing. It seemed like the waitress was annoyed that me & my kids were in there. No, my kids behavior was prefect; so it wasn't them. The waitress must have been in her 30s or 40s: so I was surprised by her attitude. I expect mediocre service when I'm served by a teenager, but not from someone that I wanted to tip well, but it just seemed wrong to do so. We'll try it out again @ some point: but we'll have to try something besides the pizza. Hopefully, the service will be a bit better. read more

I had an absolutely delicious pizza from here yesterday. I read some of the reviews and think people believe there personal tastes constitute a good pizza. The folks at Fratelli's advertise a NY style pizza and in my well experienced opinions they hit all the marks of a tasty specimen right down to the proper amount of oily residue from the pepperoni and a droopy end that is best folded for the first few bites. It also passed my three flavor test during eating and cooling the first was piping hot from the oven a swirl of flavors. Second is the cooled a bit 2nd slice which highlights the quality of the ingredients and the 3rd that is the bread that makes up the crust and tanginess of the sauce. I would be doing them an injustice not to mention the Cheese and pepperoni toppings where generous if not down right abundant. Five stars and I will be adding the phone number to my contacts and returning soon !!! read more

We placed our order in-store because at 7:45 they stopped answering their phones I ordered half a meat lovers, half with mushrooms,olives and onions. The olives were WHOLE! I have never heard of a place putting whole olives on a pizza. Not only that, they were tough and flavorless, so they didn't even taste good. It was just gross. I'm super disappointed. My husband loves their steak and cheese sub so much that any time, we go some place else and he orders a steak and cheese sub, he says "it's good but it's not Fratelli's good". What can I say about this place. I have never had a bad dish from this establishment. The staff is professional, friendly and they make you feel like you're part of the family and not just a customer. The Greek salads are humongous. There steak and cheese superb. Went here for lunch. We had the New York style pizza, a Greek salad, and mozzarella cheese sticks. The salad was huge, and had a really good amount of feta cheese, tomato and a house dressing. Unfortunately it was all iceberg lettuce. The mozzarella sticks were really good, different than a lot of places, in a good way, and had plenty of dipping sauce. The pizza was great, you can pick your toppings from an expansive list, a medium easily feeds 2. Wait staff was friendly and very helpful. Their water was is terrible, but that's the cities problem. First thought: this doesn't look very "NY Italian." I grew up in the metro NY area. So I know what I'm looking for when I hear that claim. We had just sat down when one woman wanted to take our drink order. I told her I hadn't even looked yet and would like to, but she seemed a bit annoyed at that and repeated "we have coke products." I didn't want soda and was rushed into a water. Again, when we placed our order, the attitude we received seemed "annoyed;" it seemed only regulars were allowed a friendly atmosphere. I think the delivery guy overheard me discussing Yelp, because after that, attitudes changed vastly, and the one guy in the kitchen didn't seem put off when I asked for vinegar. We tried the super Italian sub, and no, it wasn't NY style, but it was good regardless. We also ordered the pizza. I have been to Fratelli's twice--once for pizza and once for a hot veggie sub. I think the food is excellent and the prices are very reasonable. Service was very friendly when I was there. I saw huge bags of onions sitting by the kitchen, which I took as a positive sign. If I lived in Thurmont, I would be a regular. read more
