Nice local spot with a limited, but tasty food menu. Think creative wood-fired pizzas and appetizers, as well as seasonal specials. Brews are delicious with lots to choose from, seemingly something for everyone. Even if you're not a drinker, no problem - they have plenty else to choose from including sodas, house-made kombuchas and mocktails. We are personally big fans of their sours. The highlight is the wonderful, very large outdoor space which includes a covered pavilion. Perfect for relaxing on nice days and evenings. They'll even bring out the heaters and start up the fire pits once a chill gets in the air. Also note that this brewery is extremely dog-friendly! So glad we decided to give Potomac Ridge a shot for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. They had live music outside under the pavilion, but after spending the entire morning and early afternoon in the sun, we opted to dine inside. The indoor space is wide open, there is a ton of seating, and the food and beverage menus are expansive. Of course we went with the special pizza for the day: a hot honey with chicken and bacon. We also ordered an app of the herb bread and dipping oil. Both were phenomenal. The dough is so fresh and has a nice chew. The bottom of the pizza crust is thin and does get a little soggy with the sauce and all of the toppings, just as a warning. The staff worked quickly to clear any lines that formed and both the beers and food came out within minutes. They have several TVs playing sports and one was showing trivia questions. We saw some children there with parents. So, it's family friendly. read more

Absolutely amazing experience! From entry, you are warmly greeted by every person that works there, they are happy to give recommendations for beer, and the pizza is 12/10! There's a huge outdoor space in the back, that could use some large games, such as Jenga or big connect four or big checkers, but that's an add-on, they've already gone above and beyond with the pizza and beer. Great location near Shepherdstown and the C&O Canal towpath, friendly service, really good beer! I enjoyed the vanilla porter and the brown ale, and especially loved the Dolly Sods Caramel Apple Sour. The brewery has a good menu with pizzas, salads and some apps, and a lot of non-beer drink options like the seasonal Santa's Whiskers. The noise level was reasonable for an indoor crowd on a cold winter night, and the large outdoor space looks excellent for a long summer evening. Love this place! Their setup - inside and out - is great! There's ample parking (although I expect the summer time will prove hard to find a spot), and plenty of seating. There's a large pavilion out back with picnic tables, Adirondack chairs, fire pits and an area for live music. They carry a great selection of beers, ciders, and seltzers on tap, which are constantly rotating. They also serve AMAZING pizza (and don't be afraid to ask for a side of their homemade ranch to dip the crust). We rode up on a rainy Saturday afternoon and it was pretty crowded. Well worth the wait! We visited Potomac Ridge Brewing yesterday and had an amazing time. The taproom is welcoming and we were very impressed with the design of the space. All of the staff are extremely friendly, too! Onto the beer and food! We tried three different beers, all that tasted great. My favorite was the PRB Lager, which I can only imagine how refreshing will be after spending a day out on the river or on the C&O Canal Towpath. My girlfriend ordered the espresso martini, which she also enjoyed! It's exciting how many cocktail options they have in addition to a full lineup of beers, as well as a mocktail menu for the non-drinkers. Lastly, the food was terrific! We've been there 3 times in the past year and the situation got worse each time. The staff is inexperienced and the owner (Jeff) is an arrogant man who treats his customers like cattle and apparently thinks they are expendable. He clearly has no experience at managing a business. The food prep and dining areas are subpar to say the least. The health department and liquor board should shut this place down. We will not be going back. read more

I really liked the CranBarry Bonds raspberry wheat. The John Brown's Raid brown ale was a close second. We got the Mountain Mama pizza. It was delicious. I heard great things about the pizza here and finally had a chance to stop in and try it. I have to say it left a lot to be desired. The crust was floppy and soggy, and the toppings were sparse. The sauce was flavorful, but again, sparse. It's the kind of place with no servers, so you have to go up order and serve yourself once a text is delivered in the noisy place. If you want another drink, you have to go up to the bar and order it. Of course with no actual service, the tip is most prominently displayed on the screen at check out. I don't drink, so perhaps the brew is the attraction. Believe me, the few extra miles to get to Rad Pies are worth it. read more

Welcome to the neighborhood! We have watched and waited for this! We decided to give it a try this afternoon and we were not disappointed. We are so pleased that this long abandoned space is occupied by people who really care. The decor is spot on. It is well thought out, beautifully designed, with ample room inside and ample parking outside. As you enter, the greetings are genuine. The drink: loved the Conococheague IPA on tap. Great pull. Rich flavor. The Forager Pizza was a wonderful accompaniment to the beer! When you enter, order at the bar, get a table and wait for your order announcement on your phone. Simple. Straightforward. Found out they officially opened up yesterday and everything about it the place was impressive. The parking, the interior and the outdoor arrangements. They offer house made brews and also offer other local/domestic craft beers. On day 1 my wife and I tried 10 fleets (what's they call flights) and ordered 3 pizzas. The pizzas are brick oven baked and were absolutely delicious! The experience, customer service, atmosphere and food were so good that we went again today and will be going back Sunday.
