Still has that beer taste but pretty light 5.5/10 Smokehouse chili - actually one of the best chili! It's on the sweeter side but has a kick and is very yummy! 8/10 Pulled pork - very good, very juicy and tender! No significant flavor stands out but also not bland at all 8/10 Brisket - unfortunately this one was pretty dry. Maybe other times they're better since our friend mentioned it was drier than normal when they go and it was missing the fat on top too so we got very lean pieces 4/10 Ribs rack - pretty tender and good flavor overall! Not incredibly juicy but not dry too 6/10 Macaroni and cheese - eh 3/10 Garlic Parmesan French fries - nothing special here either 4/10 French fries - also eh I guess the flavoring in the garlic parm did make it better and thus more boring 3/10 Corn bread - prob best corn bread! We had lunch here today. My wife ordered a Ruben, I ordered a Bollinger burger topped with pulled pork and onion rings. We also ordered one Diet Coke and one unsweetened iced tea. My wife graded the Reuben five stars. She said it was very tasty and she enjoyed the crispy toasted bread. I can only give my burger with toppings three Stars. The pulled pork was OK, not as smoky or flavorful as I like. The burger was well done... Although I might've been able to ask for it with a different level of doneness? The coleslaw was OK, but I prefer it not so watery. The potato chips were excellent. The service was excellent, prompt and thorough. The meals were served on metal cooking sheets with parchment paper liners. Interesting plating method but the cold metal cooking sheets soon made the hot sandwiches cold too. We just had breakfast at this quaint rural restaurant. Everyone knew each other! While service was slow, there was so much laughter and fun it didn't matter. The chef cracks jokes, even came to our table to be sure we were pleased. The blueberry pancakes were the best I've had in a long time. read more

The best Reuben I think we've ever had. Pork BBQ sammich was very good. The Carolina red BBQ sauce was slightly tangy and peppery (perfect). The potato salad wasn't my favorite just because the dressing was the Amish style macaroni salad dressing, but I still enjoyed it. I normally prefer a more shredded coleslaw but this one had really good flavor. Good brews!! Very friendly service. Not a big dining area so during busy times you may need to wait for a table. Such a great family friendly restaurant. We will make this a regular stop during our travels on Route 15. read more

I normally try to be understanding, but my experience with this place was honestly unacceptable from beginning to end. When I called to place my carry-out order, the person who answered the phone sounded irritated and completely uninterested in helping me. He answered with "Hi.... Bollingers.... What do you want", and their tone made it feel like I was an inconvenience rather than a customer. When I arrived to pick up the food, the service somehow got worse. I walked in and stood at the counter with no greeting, no eye contact, and no acknowledgment at all. Several staff members looked right at me and still didn't bother to say a single word. I waited there far longer than I should have for someone to finally ask what I needed... something that should happen the moment a customer walks through the door. The lack of professionalism, basic courtesy, and customer service was shocking. Because of how poorly I was treated, I didn't feel comfortable leaving any tip at all. I rarely ever write reviews, but this experience was disappointing enough that I felt it needed to be said. As much as I love their food I hope management takes a serious look at how their staff interacts with customers. read more

Got the old bay wings, they were ON POINT but a pool of greased remained in bottom of the basket. Bad presentation. Got the chicken cheesesteak (pictured). I would NOT get again. You must be specific on everything you want on it or it comes plane with no lettuce, no tomatoe, no Mayo). Also, the chicken was like a frozen chicken steakum. I was expecting real white chicken breast meat on this sub, especially from a BBQ joint. Service was OK, but missed a lot of key things like plates for the apps; extra napkins; making sure we know the sandwiches don't come with lettuce and Mayo and Tomatoe. Ambiance is OK. Liked the chalk board and white washed board walls. Seating felt like I was in a cafeteria. Not sure if it was the tile floor or the weird tables positioned into what should be a booth. Two sips and that was enough for me. Not too friendly with us but definitely had a good relationship with the regulars. I ordered the steak and eggs. Rare. By the color of the steak which was gray, I think it was microwaved. Not a fan, sorry. Did like the rye toast. I tasted my daughters sausage and cheese omelet. Again maybe it's the sausage used but we didn't like it. My husband however got the French toast and that was a winner ! What a gem! We got to the restaurant at 11:30am and they were able to seat our group of six right away! They have indoor and outdoor seating and the interior feels cozy and clean. The staff here is spectacular. They are bubbly, sweet, salt-of-the-Earth people. Darlene waited on our table and she made recommendations on the menu that did not disappoint! We were informed that we could order from either the breakfast or lunch menu. Both menus had great selections. They also have daily specials on the chalkboard wall in the front room. In the area for Colorfest and decided to stop by Bollingers for a sit down lunch. As a rainbow couple, we are always aware of our surroundings and recognize that service may not necessarily be consistent with what other families enjoy. I have to tell you, we were pleasantly surprised with how welcoming and friendly our server, Darlene, was. The food was fresh and tasty. Servings were ample. I expected to get some good BBQ at this place, due to their high ratings. I went in, was seated, and placed my order. I didn't order a drink, just a water, as this place is gouging people with sodas and iced teas at $3.25 a piece. They also charge a fee for credit cards, which is also gouging. If you don't like paying credit card fees, then just raise your prices 3% and don't try to rip people off. Who carries cash nowadays? Anyway, I sat there for about 25 minutes, like an idiot, as no food ever came out. My waitress walked past me a good 30 times, never made eye contact and never said anything like "your food will be out shortly," or "sorry, we have a delay in your order, it will be a few more minutes." Nothing. I just got up and left, unnoticed by the staff. Very disappointing. First time there it was pretty good. I had the Ruben. Pretty decent amount. The thing on the menu that I wanted was the fresh cut French fries. They are very good. Second time there, not good at all. I had it to go. I ordered the hot dog, and a Swiss cheeseburger with mushroom. The bun had some kind of stamped on saying on it. It was also cold, and seemed not to fresh. They simply put like cold mushrooms on it as well . I also ordered the hot dog. Again it was cold, decent size, but costly for a hot dog. If you don't ask for the fresh cut fries, they give you the frozen version. Better off getting them free at Burger King! It's a nice establishment, definitely family owned which is nice, but the prices are high. Very disappointed this time around. read more

Heading back to VA from Gettysburg and found this gem on the way. Staff was very nice, definitely a home town kinda place as in everyone seemed to know each other. Food was delish. We also had the raspberry chocolate cheesecake not pictured because my husband and I devoured it. The sandwich was delightful and the fries were so great and crispy they were some of the best I've had, ever. The country fried steak was wow. It was crispy on the outside and that gravy was something out of this world. The Mac and cheese, home cooked for sure making it amazing. I recommend this place 100%. read more
