I retained Levi on a Thursday right before my divorce court date which was the next Monday. I was trying to do everything myself. Thank God that he took my case and was available for Monday. After he heard my divorce case and I was leaving his office he went to shake my hand and all I could do is hug him. I was so stressed and overwhelmed. When in court there were things thrown at him/me that I had know idea that these things were going to be thrown. He he literally was like a special forces paratrooper being dropped behind enemy lines being fired on from all directions. Levi kept a very level head and very ethical in all his actions. He calmed me down and helped me look past the right now emotional responses that I wanted to respond with. I am amazed how he pulled everything together over a 3 day weekend and two of those days were the weekend and come through court helping my kids and myself. I really think he is an angel from God put here to help people in need for his services.

He is not only knowledgeable but also empathetic, taking the time to address all of my concerns. Because of his thorough preparation, I felt completely confident when it came time to take the stand. Stephen not only helped me secure more time with my children but also gave me the tools I need for continued success in managing a difficult co-parenting situation. I highly recommend Stephen to anyone looking for an attorney who truly listens and delivers results.

Family law is messy business. SO much is at stake, it is very difficult to think logically and…read moreclearly especially in high-conflict situations. After having to fire two other attorneys over very simple things like not keeping appointments and not calling back, I found Steve. He didn't always tell me what I wanted to hear, but he was honest, direct and caring. I was presented with practical solutions and ended up getting what my kids needed to feel safe and secure, which was my ultimate goal. It is also important to highlight that Steve truly understands family law and how things are run in Larimer County. My former husband's attorney's area of expertise was primarily business law so she really made things difficult from a lack of understanding. Steve was patient without being petty, which would have only escalated our stressful situation. It took almost 5 years of back-and-forth before I hired Steve. After he got involved, our issues ended up taking about 9 months to resolve. I would hire Steve and his team again in an instant, but he and I both agreed we'd rather not have to do it ever again. I am really grateful for him and how he went above and beyond to support me and my kids.

    Modern Family Law

Modern Family Law makes lots of money by having every attorney, paralegal, and admin in the office…read morereview and give input on every single minor email or phone call to/from you and your attorney, costing 4-5x what it should. Because of that, it cost me almost $6,000 to have this attorney do 2 simple things: 1) send a letter to my former husband asking, via mediation, for him to help out with our severely-disabled-now-over-18 child, and when he refused that, 2) submit a request to court to review child support because he had stopped paying, and he is a multi-millionaire many times over. That's all, two easy, boilerplate items. My attorney, et al, spent ~$2,000 in drafting her withdrawal (against my wishes) after my husband's notoriously ruthless attorney threatened her. I was even billed $110 for a phone call from this near-hysterical and scared attorney from her car, which entirely involved me calming her down and counseling her. She then threw me under the bus by claiming she in her withdrawal that I withheld a piece of information (I did not), and billed for time spent groveling to the opposing attorney. This attorney and firm are now keeping my $1,350 deposit to pay themselves for additional "services" after I dismissed them in writing, after I had received an email from them that they sent the last bill, after the case was dismissed. Doubt I have luck fighting that. Do not hire this firm or attorney. I was drawn to them because they were kind, but that was a huge mistake. What should have been a simple case for a multi-millionaire to pay a little bit of child support for his severely disabled child (our state allows support beyond age 18 due to disability), turned into an expensive loss because this attorney and firm aren't willing to stand up against seasoned attorneys for what they believe in. That, coupled with excessive bill padding, made everyone in this case a winner except a sweet, little blind girl in a wheelchair. (That $6,000+ was 12% of my income this year. I'm talking to a one-man-office attorney now, who will charge a few hundred to pursue this the proper way. Two stars because everyone was really nice, for what it's worth.)

I absolutely DO NOT RECOMMEND this firm…read more **Edit** After I expressed my concern with his firm, Ron Salas dismissed my wife and I as clients over email due to my "tone". the email I wrote is the review below almost verbatim (I changed the pronouns). **Edit** Documents and information intended for me were sent to someone else instead. I understand mistakes happen but in this instance we are dealing with highly sensitive, highly personal documents pertaining to an extremely emotional subject. Double checking email addresses seems like a small thing to ask. Perhaps The Salas Law Firm takes divorce lightly because it is just another day in the office, but for ME, it's a living nightmare, an utter embarrassment, and a complete catastrophe. And they have compounded all that by giving me a new nightmare to contemplate, embarrassing me further, and complicating an already insufferable process. So, I would like to register my EXTREME disappointment with this firm. Not only did I never receive the documents promised, but I had to find out from my soon to be ex-wife that documents containing my personal information and details of our divorce were sent to some random person. Supposedly this person sent them screenshots of the "unread" email and the empty inbox after he deleted the email. But anyone with a gmail account can open an email, download the contents, and mark it unread in 3 mouse-clicks. It seems to me that this breach of privacy may also constitute a breach in attorney-client confidentiality, which is extremely concerning.
