(She wound up giving me a lot of free days when I ran into shipping snafus) I sent 2 of my kill pen rescues to her. I received tons of pics and videos everyday on her FB page! She groomed them, loved on them, cared for them...gave them exactly what they needed after the stress and frightening experience of the kill pen. She has the vet out as needed and looks over them carefully. She recommends and educates. She mailed me a lil care package even! Some cool drink koozies and stickers! Not necessary but made it all that much more pleasurable an experience! She even helped me rehome my mares when my hauler flaked out on me. Yeap 5 stars! I was…read moreso excited for this!! My 2nd time riding a horse. It's a long ride from the city but totally worth it. We also saw geese, roosters and couple of other animals. Geese are very territorial, one chased us lol. Found a groupon for 6, which helped a lot. I called ahead of time to make reservations, Lionel was very helpful. We had to make last minute change to our reservation and he did an awesome job finding us another time. It's a family business, all the horses they train were rescued. One of the horses ran races and won. I loved hear kind tenet stories through our amazing trainer Melissa. The ride takes about an hour, the rain made the trail extra muddy which was a good surprise. I am sure the horses liked it mote than us. Our shoes got really muddy by the end lol. Don't forget to tip your trainers! They work really hard to take care of the horses and make the trail ride fun. Highly recommended, I'll definitely return.

And safety is always emphasized. Each lesson starts with grooming the designated horse, saddling up, exercising the horse, and only then, riding. This was a bucket list thing for me and has become a high point of my week. This is a working ranch and stable, not a fancy club. I leave all the stress of daily life behind when I turn down the road into the ranch on Sunday mornings. One special memory is the day we worked in the small arena and she told me to close my eyes while riding. I could really feel the movement of the horse then, and felt no fear at all. A second was the day she pronounced me no longer a beginner and sent me off for a solo victory lap around the big arena. And a third was when we first rode at speed between poles. So far we have worked on three different horses, each selected as the best for that day's learning. I have learned a lot about horses, but also a lot about myself. Rates for lessons are truly reasonable, especially when purchased in blocks of five.
