We dropped by 4 different studios and we knew PDC was for us! My 4-year-old daughter has been with PDC for 2 years and we absolutely love being a part of the PDC family! Classes are nurturing and positive, age-appropriate but certainly teaches the little ones to push themselves and do their best as little ballet and tap dancers! Owner, Paige L., and the toddler teacher, Ashley A., are absolutely amazing with the children! Each brings their excitement, their expertise, and their big hearts to the classes. Even the older dancers, who sometimes cross paths with the 2-4 year old class (or on the recital days) are so sweet and loving! They are like big sisters to the little dancers, taking them under their wing and making them feel like important parts of the PDC family. These girls have become extended family. All the parents look out for each other's daughters and support them with encouragement and love. There are workshops with special guest dancers and they have a winter performance for dancers who'd like to participate. The studio is an adorable boutique studio - small and quaint but perfect. Parents can sit right outside the class and watch. PDC is conveniently located right on Route 6 in Mahopac and parking is available behind the studio. As someone who didn't grow up dancing and who has rarely had experience in a dance class I was nervous to join the studio, but quickly felt welcomed by both the staff as well as other students. They offer a variety of dance disciplines as well as a trial class! Though what I love the most about here is that it is a non competitive environment and everyone is encouraged to make mistakes and grow as a dancer. The monthly socials are so much fun. There is no pressure and we pay per lesson. We left a studio in Brewster that required extremely expensive contracts and demanded students take a minimum of two lessons a week! Deb's pricing allows students to take private or group lessons on their own terms. We take two private one hour lessons a month and attend the socials. There are group lessons almost every night of the week for those who choose that format. No partner required. Highly recommend !!!
