OK so let me first say that I have called this company several times to find out information about…read morethe classes they offer. I feel it is important to check service levels not only by using the service, but "interviewing" the potential service provider. Each call resulted in ok service over the phone until this last one. I called CC & Company because I heard that they were one of the best in the area. I think the key here is "in the area". Does not mean best of the best. The classes are not actual dance classes for the little kids. Creative Movement is not something I am interested in. My children can get that at a day care. I want a dance company to provide REAL dance classes. They say that they are not able to teach kids so young. Well I could put well over a thousand youtube links that say that yes younger kids can be taught and be exceptional. Just disappointing that the daytime classes are not available and the variety is truly not there. When I asked the person on the phone for a referral of a studio in Raleigh that taught classes during the day for 4 year olds, she told me that she did not know of any other studios. This company has been open for how long and they don't know of any other companies. Just a tip. Customer service is not just about getting customers to buy from you, but being able to provide them what they need. That is what brings lifetime customers. I say CC & Company needs to really step it up and get with the market of younger children and the talent they have. Get on the same level as Disney, America's got Talent, youtube, and many others who recognize that there is talent before 5.

The location is great for us and my daughter just likes acting goofy so we let her stay for now. If she continues to be interested, I will put her in a more serious program. On the administrative side, it's been less than stellar given early troubles with costume ordering. We followed details to a T, and as a first time dance mom was a bit neurotic. Costumes arrived and you not only had to melt her I to it, but craftsmanship was poor as there were visible tears in the fabric in multiple spots. Uncertain of what to do, I naturally turned to the dance studio front staff who were rude and basically said I must not have paid attention to the instructions. Needless to say, I was clearly on my own to find a remedy which was not only irritating and confusing but costly. On a side note, and maybe by design but the front lobby is always packed and boiling degrees given it's small cramped size.

Their teachers really understand and know how to work well with children. I'm amazed at the patience they have with the young age groups and how they can not only keep young ones engaged in a class, but also manage to have relative success in teaching them routines. When my daughter started at Starpath she had a hard time focusing and doing what the class was told to do, but after a few months she was focusing and following instructions better, memorizing steps and routines, showing off what she was learning to us at home, and having a blast with the music and activities incorporated in class. Students are awarded with stars and get a lot of encouragement. They performed their recital at the Carolina Theater. I thought my daughter would be shy on such a large stage, but the teachers gave them multiple opportunities to get a acclimated to it and had practiced with the students so much that they did great. I was so proud to see my daughter front and center in her group on stage performing her choreography and smiling brightly. She loved the experience and is now half way through her second year at Starpath. I love seeing her grow as a dancer and have a great time in class with her friends. The Starlight Tots and Starlight Kids classes have been a great foundation to develop her love of dance and music. Now when she dances, she performs the choreography confidently and really shines.

No connection with the parent....no staff present, or so it seems. Do you even care when you open the door at the end of the class if my child is picked up? You don't even make a connection with a parent to make sure the children are safe... And if there is a problem, there's no one there to speak to, for the child or the parent. No place I want my child going. Need to learn some manners, at the very least....or do you just care about the tuition??? Glad to be out of that place.

Note only Kirstie, but all of the teachers too are committed to the students and create a very positive learning environment. Finally, the students are wonderful providing positive support to one another and put in a great deal of hard work. As I said before, the studio is truly a gem. Which is fine because it's policy but just letting you know in advance that if you need more flexibility around time this may pose as difficult. They mentioned they would let the manager know to see if theres credit reimbursement but I havent heard anything since. I've only been to beginner classes but the instructors seem ok! I opted to begin by jump starting and return to yoga practice on Saturday, then Sunday....next one Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, ... no option Thursday so I will have a rest day, then back Friday and so forth! A real kick starter to get my fitness goals back on track and strengthen my body, mind, heart, and soul. Pura Vida Studio is a lovely, well appointed, and top notch studio in the safety category. Class starts on time and door locked for client safety and security this is pivotal and while some may disagree, fundamental safety protocols are essential. Altering my wedding dress was quick and painless. She explained everything she was doing for my understanding and turned each alteration around within just a few days. She installed practical yet beautiful solutions for the bustle for my comfort and style. I have a ballroom gown, so it's BIG, but that was no problem for Lori. My dress came out beautiful and I am so excited to wear it in just a few weeks! I also used Lori to alter my grandmother's wedding dress. It's a delicate dress that was a bit small on me. We added panels, removed the sleeves, cut the length of the dress, and added some beautiful gathering in the waist to create an ankle-length gown with a boat neck style. She helped preserve the style of the dress while making it more comfortable for me. I cannot recommend Lori enough. She's very responsive, listens to your ideas, and gives valuable input based on her expertise.
