We had a very good experience at this Fred Meyer in Sandy, Oregon (Mid-Sept, 2024), especially after experiencing crazy high prices at a different (not Fred Meyer) grocery closer to our resort in Welches, Oregon. Sandy is about 17 miles away. Fred Meyer had an excellent selection of fruits and vegetables, meats, etc., at price points that were in line with what we expected to pay. Some specials, as advertised through their weekly circular, were bargains. We found everything that was on our shopping list, and much more. We saved about $20 on a $100 order by using their loyalty card, but lost a few bucks by not having their app on our phones for digital specials. Parking was plentiful and free. Staff (in the self check-out) was helpful. There's a Fred Meyer gas station adjacent to the main store which was convenient. Items scanned at their correct prices (though see note below about digital savings). The store was well-organized and clean. One point off in my rating for two reasons. (1) we had some issues with the self check-out register that required staff to come over to our station multiple times -- which was annoying. It turns out that the register was getting confused by having two people at the register. My husband was scanning, while I bagged. (2) we didn't get the "sale" price that was on the label in front of a few items on display. It turned out that you need not only a loyalty card but you also need to add digital coupons via the Fred Meyer app. Too many hoops to jump through to get the best prices. read more

Fred Meyer, any location, has some huge hits and huge misses. The main miss is the crazy level camera playback if you use the self check... wow. As it is I have the motorized cart and have to stand awkwardly for stability to ring myself up so it triggers it a lot because it was not already complicated enough. I will say though that a few of the employees here actually were beyond wonderful and went out of their way to help me which was appreciated so very much! read more

Pharmacy has problems getting orders out. Called in at 9:30 a.m. asked if prescription is ready. Was told it would be by the time I got there if I left home now. Got to the pharmacy waited till 10:45 a.m. to pick up a prescription that they said was ready. Never been to a fred meyer before. It's huge! It looks like a Super Walmart or a Super Target from the outside, with a hint of Costco... but Fred Meyer is so much more... oh yes, much more! Fred Meyer is like everything Costco should be with smaller portions- like Walmart without the people- like Target's grand daddy. Yeah, this place has everything. We went here to kill some time and let the kids run around for a bit and we had no clue what we were stepping into. First off, there was a few themed shopping carts. One was a red fire truck that the kids could sit in. The other, a police car! Talk about entertaining, the kids were all just so mesmerized by the shopping carts that it could have been all they had and the kids would have been happy. But no... We step inside and there is a toy store to the right. Like a KB toy store in a shopping center right next to the daycare... uh yeah, a daycare in a grocery store. I'm thinking that it's a perfect idea for families who work at the Fred Meyer to be able to get child care too. Not sure if that's the case, but I can dream. This place has everything! They sell so many different things- even high end jewelry! It's like a shopping mall got together and decided not to have any walls, just registers where people eventually pay for their stuff all at once. To top off our visit, we went to the gas station for cheaper gas compared to the local name brands, just like Costco. I really had a great experience here and highly recommend it to anyone. I love Fred Meyers in Sandy. Only a few years old, they are one of the nicest stores in the area. Clean, fresh and bright. They also have a really nice childcare area. You can safely leave your child at the designated area with the friendly staff, and they will watch your child for one hour. Your children can color, play with toys, or watch movies while you shop with out being distracted. read more

This review is specifically catered to travelers as it was a pit stop for gas, fresh fruit and deli while on a trek with a friend. I want to first and foremost give rave reviews for Letricia in the deli going above and beyond. We had picked some sandwiches for the panini grill and were informed that the grill was down. She asked if we'd have time for her to take them to the toaster oven in back which is slow but efficient at heating through. Both sandwiches chosen were amazing and if you're passing through town it's worth the stop to have the "Letricia's Tasty Pitcraft Turkey, Bacon and Avocado" on Sourdough with Honey Mustard and Cheddar. Seriously wonderful and filling with all the range of sweet and savory mixing with sourdough. It had heaps of protein. We were able to pick up our drinks, grapes, nectarines, rosemary sea salt crisps and Face Rock Vampire Slayer cheese for later on up the mountain during the short wait. Their bathrooms were clean and their gas station was quick and efficient with courteous staff. Overall, great pit stop with an extra perk with the great above and beyond service from Letricia in the deli and the amazing toasted sandwiches. Thank you!! read more

Fuel dude working could have cared less we needed anything. With an 1/8 of a tank & us ready to get a full tank he looked at us didn't say a word and walked away! Not only was he rude by not acknowledging us but he just cost the company at least $30 as well as a poor review on yelp! We live in this small community snd do our best to support all the local businesses and to be treated with such disrespect is unacceptable!!! Sad though that Fred Meyers is such a large company how we were treated will not even mean a thing to them. When my husband and I first moved to Sandy, we were probably at Fred Meyer every day for at least two weeks. They have pretty much everything anyone needs to set up a new home as well as maintain it. One of our friends calls Fred Meyer 'The Store of Life', and she's right! The staff have always been helpful and incredibly friendly. They remember us and say hello even when we're not on their checkout line. This store reminds me of an old-fashioned country store where everyone knows everyone. It even goes as far as being overly social sometimes. We can be waiting to be checked out and sometimes have to wait until the checker finishes their conversation with the customer ahead of us. It can be a little annoying, but I constantly remind myself that I'm in Sandy, and not where I'm originally from. There is a huge difference in the people here, and I really like it. The produce area is nicely maintained, and the organic section is growing. My husband and I shop organic when we can, and we really appreciate having this choice available to us. I also like the fuel points program. Very cool. I use it constantly. The clothing area? Not so nice. Most of it is cheap and badly made. But they do have some really cute accessories. I don't visit FM for clothes though. The store just went through a huge renovation this summer, to bring it up-to-speed with neighboring FMs in the area. It's funny too, because a few months back, my husband and I went once to another FM in the area, and realized that ours here in Sandy looked pretty worn down and ghetto. So, we started shopping at the other nicer FMs in the area when we did our errands on the weekends. Oddly enough, that's when the renovation started. It's like they heard us! (Not really, but we like to think that way.) The store is beautiful, modern, and looks just like other FMs in the area. We really appreciate all the hard work that went into this renovation. Sure, we've had to relearn where everything is, because pretty much the entire store was moved around. So, a little effort went into relocating everything, but we survived. All is well. There are, however, a few small issues that need to be addressed: The Bathrooms I was disappointed to see that the renovation did not include the bathrooms. They are still nasty, disgusting, and small. They smell bad all the time. I'm afraid to touch anything. But, when you arrive to do your shopping and you have to pee, you have to pee, right? The sinks were replaced with trough sinks, and the faucets are now motion-activated. The water pressure is dialed down so light that both faucets do not work properly to wash hands appropriately. The tiniest trickle of water comes out so lightly, that people are discouraged from even putting out the effort to wash their hands. This is a health hazard in the making, especially with flu season coming up. Note to Fred Meyer Management: Please fix this. Playland Playland is right next to the bathrooms. I don't see it being used that much, and I don't remember a Playland existing at the other stores. This appears to be a feature of just the Sandy store, and apparently it isn't going anywhere anytime soon which is disappointing. It looks ugly and outdated. I never see it full of children. If I had children, I would not leave them there, as it is likely full of germs. Note to Fred Meyer Management: Please consider getting rid of Playland, and renovating the bathrooms, making them larger and more accommodating to your customers. Fred Meyer in Sandy, you get three stars from me. Otherwise, I really do like your store, and appreciate having it here in town. read more

It's really hit and miss here with the employees, some are great and some just live to make your day bad if at all possible. Their prices are not worth tolerating the rudeness. And the bottle area, I finally stopped taking my empties there due to the machines, they're filthy and never working, and it's almost impossible to get anyone to service them. Plus all the broken glass, I actually saw a boy fall on a long-necked bottle shard and cut his calf wide open. Today, Black Friday, they had bogo signs on product that wasn't included in the Buy One Get One Free ad (or, maybe it was, no one seemed to know), but I only found that out at the register, and that was AFTER the clerk on duty at the display told me the items were included in the BOGO --- I asked just to be sure because the ad itself was a little confusing, even to the final decision of the P.I.C. who, after putting some thought into it, decided it shouldn't be included after all. I called corporate and let them know. They said they would pass it on to the store manager, whatever good that will do me now. I ended up going to BiMart and then online at Amazon and got a MUCH better deal on everything. It is hard to remember Sandy without Fred Meyer now. It has become a regular stop for us and it is one of the cleanest Fred's. I know Fred's gets a bad rap for being expensive and believe me, I have seen some prices in here that makes me wonder what I am doing in there, but I know the prices on some stuff is pretty reasonable. I like their organic section. They just redid the produce section in that department, which I was happy they did, it used to be delegated to a tiny island of sad veggies by the bread. I do mean sad, some used to be in the death throes of squishy zombie mutation. I am not sure why they thought nobody would notice a tomato with white fur on it or celery brown and slimy in the plastic, but it was there and it sent me to Trader Joes. It seems like since they added to the organic zone the quality got better as well. I love they have gas now with the ten cents off with your Fred's card. That got them a five. It isn't as crazy as the Gresham gas station at Fred's, but it does get crowded but nothing too bad. read more

They got a lot right, there are very few things they got wrong, but rather than listing everything that brings me joy about this place (I wish I had stores like this in my hood) as a visitor who only shows up around Christmas, I'll say what's wrong then. 1) wifi - as I have no cell signal at all in the store (Sprint) I require WiFi to place calls (GrooveIP) / send texts (Google Voice) / otherwise communicate with the outside world. While not a huge problem, the process to sign up for the free wifi and then the coverage were both spotty when I was using it, and it did not appear I was the only one. Oh wait, that was my one complaint... every time I've been there around Christmas they are hustling to get people out of there, somehow the store manages to not look like a disaster area. I can't really speak to how personable the employees are as usually I do not bug them too much as there are six billion people behind me waiting to get out with their Christmas goods. As any Fred Meyer, this store has anything you could want. We were visiting Sandy, OR during a heat wave, and staying in a house with no air conditioning (and windows that didn't open!). With only one ceiling fan in the house (and not in the bedroom!) we needed another fan. We knew FM would have what we needed - but finding the fan was another story. The staff in the store were near useless. The first employee we found was too busy talking with another customer (who apparently was his girlfriend) to be able to help us. We were patient, let them finish their conversation - and then the employee just wandered away! We were near the paint department, so I figured we'd for sure find help there - and we nearly did except our Romeo was ahead of us and had already asked the next staff member we found for help himself. So there we were: us, Romeo and now two other employees - none of which seemed interested in us. I was done with being brushed aside so I loudly stated, "Excuse me." which got their attention (well, it got Mr Helper's attention after I said it three times.) Mr Helper took us to the fans, and explained a little about their fan stock. When we got to the checkout we were helped nicely there. Basically, they have good variety but the further away from the front of the store you are, the less interested the staff are in helping. And if you run into Romeo and his girlfriend is there - just move on. He only has eyes for her. read more
