I am very impressed with this location. When I go to Costco, I will often stop here since it's a block away, and I have been able to find some great layering pieces in the women's clothing department and athletic wear inexpensive. I get compliments on all and people are shocked when I say I purchased at Walmart. Bought track pants in black with a white stripe down the side and pockets. Love them so much I bought in the other 3 colors since I go to the gym and for walks daily. The produce department is well stocked and veggies and fruit is good quality. Pantry items are also cheaper so I stock up. In the spring and fall, I buy outdoor annuals that are out front and they always thrive. Store is clean and well maintained. read more

I usually avoid Walmart at all costs but found myself in there two weeks before Christmas. Now I must say I was pleasantly surprised by how they've upgraded the store. I was only on the housewares side but everything was fully stocked and everything was tidy. They even had about 5-8 registers open so the wait to check out wasn't terrible. read more

So frustrated we bought 3 ever start batteries for our rv and 4 weeks later they won't hold a charge we tried returning or exchanging them and they said it was past the 30 day return but websight says 90 days beyond annoyed, why would I want a battery that won't hold a charge ridiculous. My husband is a mechanic I think he would know if a battery is bad. They seem to not listen we have recieptt it won't hold a chard thank you for calling us liers. Just cause your machine says they are good ok then explain to me why they have no charge and u want to spend an hr on the charging machine so 3 hrs after 3 hrs of asking g for something to be done. We shop at Wal-Mart so much and used to shop at Sam's club in Florida for years ... I think those days are seriously over. Just disappointed in the customer service being provided. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. I regretably purchased tires from here a little less than a year ago and one had a bubble on the sidewall already. I discovered this by taking my car to a different tire business, not Walmart. It's not reparable. I could get it replaced but have all wheel drive so would have to replace all 4 tires. I refuse to give them more money for bad products and worse customer service so will be purchasing tires from a different business. It's impossible to speak to anyone in the auto center and calling the corporate number doesn't help. They just tell me to show up at the store without an appointment. Super frustrating. read more

Definitely the better selection but some of the staff are pretty flippant about their jobs. Last time I came in there was a person opening all the feminine care products like literally every single variety and putting them back. The door guy thought it was cool. This review exclusively concerns the tire department. Despite arriving five minutes before my scheduled appointment, it took just shy of 30 minutes before anyone came over to actually check me in. Having recently blown a tire that could not be repaired two days before, I purchased a single tire matching the other three (that I purchased from this same Walmart late last year), and was running on my spare when I pulled up. When someone finally bothered to come check me in, I was told that the tread depth of my other, less-than-eight-months-old tires were too worn down compared to the new tire, and that all four would be replaced. Feeling that was ridiculous, I spoke with the manager, who similarly claimed that there was too much of a difference, that installing them would be a liability, and no Walmart would perform the job (although Les Schwab would, for some reason). The best they could do, he claimed, would be to install the tire on my existing rim, and I would have to do the rest. Thus, I ended up having to jack up my SUV, swap out the tire, and re-mount the spare on the undercarriage, in the scalding heat, within sight of the service garage. Not the way I wanted to spend a sweltering Saturday afternoon. However, the frustrations would continue: I wasn't even able to claim the tire I paid for without paperwork (makes sense), but explaining the situation to the person at the counter seemed to be beyond her comprehension, requiring me to bring both parties together to talk it out for nearly 10 minutes, before I was given the tire to begin my solo install. The icing on the cake is that the $18 fee I pre-paid for tire installation and rotation was not refunded. When I asked about it, I was told that the mounting of the tire on the rim constituted the use of this fee, an opinion with which I disagree, yet I was too tired and heat-exhausted to argue the point. Fire the so-called managers at this store!!! I have been going to this store (Wood Village) for as long as it has been open...probably 20 years, maybe? It has gotten progressively worse over the past few years. I was there yesterday and had hit a boiling point! The store is dirty, never stocked, and most associates are rude!! You have to chase down an associate to get a freakin' pack of ballpoint pens because they are locked up. I needed to buy a gift card and was told they were available at Guest Services. I waited in line at Guest Services for 15 minutes to get a gift card only to be told that they are available at Customer Service. Went to Customer Service and had the RUDEST associate "help" me. By this time I was fed up and asked for a manager. She called the manager and the manager told her she was "busy" and wouldn't come and talk to me. UNACCEPTABLE! I would also like to add that I have witnessed, on 2 separate occasions, Walmart associates exit the restroom without washing their hands. Filthy! I refuse to shop at Walmart! I know it means nothing to them! I considered calling and complaining to their corporate office or whatever, but realized that it wouldn't even matter! read more

At least there was one young woman who wasn't dismissive and annoyed when asked for directions to a section of the store. The big question is: Can the checkers possibly move somewhat slower? I'm sure that with proper training, they can be reduced to virtually stagnant. Hands down, one of the worst, if not THE worst, department store experiences one can have. I hate Walmarts but they had something I needed on sale so I trekked out here. I ended up returning it 5 hours later at 8 pm, and the customer service desk was closed, even though the store is open til 11 pm. How the hell do you run a store without a customer service desk? Fortunately, one of the clerks did my refund and apologized. He said the store was understaffed due to cuts from corporate so there's limited hours for customer service and often, no self check out so cash register lines are long most of the time. $25 for the labor of oil change, includes conventional oil and filter. Now if I save them the cost of providing oil and filter, by providing my own, they charge $30. So I'm paying $5 extra on the labor, plus I'm not getting the 5 qts conventional oil and not getting the oil filter. ROBBERY!! Then I've got to get chicken or something. They don't make it they don't know how to do their job. They never placed it out and they always fired the people that are good. This Walmart is the worst. Over and over again, the employees I interacted with were the greatest. My only issue is that I don't remember all the names of the AWESOME crew. Anyone that was at work from 10AM - 2PM. We were here for the first time as Walmart has left Portland. The store is huge! Also very organized and clean. We had several employees offer to help us find items. Checkouts were open with courteous checkers. Parking lot was huge so we had no trouble parking. Of course we spent lots of $$ as prices were much lower than most other retailers. We went for a specific product they were selling and bought all that our freezer had room for. All in all, a very successful outing! read more

I will never go back. It's junky not a super center. I've never been there, and I take forever shopping. I noticed a LP watching me. When I went to check out a manager came up and was watching me, I ran my card and the cashier wasn't printing the receipt I was like what's taking so long as the cashier kept waiting on his manager kept looking at her Then the LP came over and was looking at his device then they printed the receipt. I looked at them because I'm not stupid, I know they were watching me because my brain makes me take forever shopping and making decisions. I said are you watching me because I took too long. Really fucked me up and I was shaking I was so upset. To not print my receipt until the LP got there. On top of that they forgot to bag an item and I live far away . I just don't know how Walmart thinks operating a skeleton crew and chasing opportunist shoplifters around the store is bettering the shopping experience. I don't usually shop at Walmart but I stopped by for some small appliances, in the time I was there I saw more regular employees following a shoplifter than working the floor, they still only have one aisle open but thankfully they gave the little old lady that usually works the only aisle open a night off, seeing as I've never been in that store without seeing her and Seeing that she's got to be in her 80's I truly hope she's taking more time off. That being said this store has continued to regress, irony was that even with the active game of hide and go seek they were playing with thief's I didn't see any police outside, it's almost like they got rid of Loss prevention and started going only to floor work using regular employees. If this is the state of Walmart it won't be long before they do site only, and honestly I'm ok with it. That shoplifter is one reason my vacuum and blender had to be escorted to the front by an employee. So irritating the behaved suffer consequences for the delinquent. This is our new to us Walmart Superstore. Yes it's a jaugernaught of mega stores. The Parking Lot is a Zoo of Confusion. The People...... it's Walmart. Yup. After all that. The deals are nice. Let's face it, Walmart can be a less than pleasant experience. However, some of their stores/locations are much better than others (SE 192nd in Vancouver WA is my favorite!). Anyway, this location in Wood Village is better than all the other Portland locations by far! The store is clean, organized, well stocked, the carts are decent, the staff is helpful, and parking is ok most of the time. The produce is fresh and they even have organic. They also have decent plants in the garden center during spring/summer (including organic vegetable plants). As long as you avoid the first week of the month the lines usually move fairly fast. I also like that there's a Subway inside, so I can grab a sandwich to-go on my way out. ***UPDATE 11/24/14 *** I cannot say enough good things about the automotive service here, they always do a good job and today they went above and beyond. Had a dead battery that was only 8 months old, but there was an issue with the warranty replacement. The service tech AND the manager (April) both provided excellent customer service! My totally crappy day of car problems actually ended on a positive note and I'm grateful. read more

This is a follow up to a previous review. After dealing with boy manager Travis I went to Discount Tire on Eastman Parkway in Gresham. I hardly turned off my car before Kody meant me in the parking lot. He listened to the problem with my tires and checked out the tires. He called the manufacture of the tires and got a probate on the tires. You would be better off buying tires from Discount Tires then dealing with the boy manager Travis with a little man Syndrome. read more

Hey it's Walmart! I don't shop here often but whenever I do, employees are always rude. Seriously, if you hate your job so much, find another one. I know people have their bad days but this seems to happen whenever I am in. (For those going, it's probably you...nope! I am not a difficult person to deal with. I respect all and I expect the same in return. I bring the kids with me and they are well-behaved and when they aren't, I discipline them). As for selection, you get what you get. If it's not on the shelves, the employees won't even bother checking in the back (even though it states online they have it in stock). As for checking out, it takes forever. Few registers are open and lines are super long. If you're grabbing a few items, self checkout is the best bet. That's why I prefer grocery pick up. So much more convenient than going in. Employees are friendly and quick. I always get what I order and if not they do substitutes. I get what I need and head home. Another I prefer is store pick up. Sometimes the line is long but it moves quick. I like ordering what I want/need online (w/ cash back) and then just go in for pick up. There's one time I went in to purchase an item and it showed online they had it in stock, got there and couldn't find it. Asked an employee and she said, well if it's not on the shelves, we don't have it. Ok? I kindly informed her it's showing online that they have it in stock. She goes, well sometimes it's not updated or wrong online. Okay fine. Got on Walmart site, placed my order thinking it'll take 2 days...what do you know? Order was ready later for pick up. I don't like shopping here unless i have no choice! I'd rather spend my money at other places. I would've given a 1 star but the grocery pick up and store pick up added the 2 stars. read more

Outside Walmart to pick up an Uber eats order taking way to long to give us ONE single grocery bag with ONE ITEM! store does not even close for another hour! they've not even come out to tell us that we're wasting time here. Disgusting. The health department needs to do their job. The women's restroom was 3rd world. Feces sprayed all over the handicap toilet. One was clogged with paper. Another had a bloody tampon on the floor. There was one that was being used with used toilet paper all over the floor. I skipped it. Went to customer service & spoke with an overwhelmed assistant manager. I shopped for 20 -30 minutes & went back. The guy cleaning the men's room worked at a snails pace & obviously didn't give two figs. The employees at large looked hopeless, worn out & depressed. What a sad state of affairs, Walmart.
