The trails were peaceful and easy to walk with toddlers, and the main lookout point was definitely the highlight. The views alone made the stop worthwhile. The museum had some informative displays about local history and the environment, which was a nice addition even though our kids were more focused on walking the paths. Since we arrived later in the afternoon, we didn't get to explore everything, so I'd recommend visiting earlier in the day if you can. Still, it was a pleasant, low-key outing and a solid stop if you're in the Marathon area.

Lots of shade to enjoy a walk in nature. The fish pedicure is a perfect place to rest for a while, I loved it. The museum is great with very interesting artifacts and history.

However, the rebuilt historic bridge is a visually magnificent car ride with green water on both sides. When driving south toward Key West, portions of the original dilapidated bridge is still viewable for great pictures and fishing. FYI: If you are driving behind a tanker truck or camper, it will seem like the seven mile stretch is forever.

Once you pay for time slot you get on trolley ( or you can walk, bike the bridge and just pay entrance fee when you get there). It's a 15 min ride onto the island from bridge. Our drivers name was Julie.. she told us about island and what to expect when we get there.. if you come by trolley you are confined to time slot to get the trolley back I think it's 2 hrs.. we had time to snorkel by dock and go gift shop and walk around the multiple buildings and get the history. They have restrooms where you can change clothes which we did. Also water fountains to fill your water bottle because it's hot in summer you need to hydrate! CT was our greeter to island she gave us choice to do guided tour or self guided.. we self guided because we wanted to snorkel.. they do not furnish snorkel equipment you must bring in bag to island so keep that in mind but you can just swim if you want. The water was very refreshing! Toward end of our stay here CT was nice enough to allow us to get cut fish pieces and feed the fish including a nurse shark.. we enjoyed this place wished we had taken an e-bike and stayed awhile because it's very peaceful and could have spent more time snorkeling.. we will next time! Jeff was our pilot and he was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and made sure we had a great time! He explained everything extremely thoroughly and made sure we knew what to expect with takeoff and landing as well as throughout the ride. The views couldn't be better - we were able to see plenty of manatee, sharks, and sea turtles! It is a great stop on a road trip through the Florida Keys, Parking: 35 parking spaces are nearly always full, even on weekdays, with cars often waiting for someone to leave. Visitors don't necessarily stay long, however, so the spaces turn over fairly quickly.
