This was right near the front of the library'. They had 10 books that were housed in a nice canvas bag! I wish I lived closer - I would have totally started a summer book club!

The WiFi is reasonably fast, but also by no means the best I've experienced. This library was a great air conditioned spot for me to stop on with my laptop and do some remote work while I was on a trip down in Marathon. I would definitely recommend it as there are not many public places with internet access in the area. As far as the books they have a pretty good selection! Including some interesting biographies on the shelves. I will admit I did not do a ton of reading on this trip though.

If you're visiting for a time, and have your ID on you, you can get a visitors card which allows you three months of book check-outs (up to 3 at a time). What a great offer! Key West Island Bookstore is amazing because it has a mix of new and used books, so this makes finding that SK first edition a little easier. They have computers for you to use. You can make photocopies. You can use their WiFi. Everyone is so nice and helpful! I had ordered a book online. For whatever reason, it went to Marathon. In just a few clicks, they were able to get it routed to Key Largo. I always look forward to stopping in here!

It also has the kids corner with nice books for a wide range of ages, and they also have days where they read to the kids and play story time with the book they read. The staff members are more than friendly, and accommodating, you really feel welcomed in here, they try to help you with your requests as much as they can. This location has the computer area but it seems to be busy all the time (which is ok if you bring your own), internet is not as fast but I rather being here than in a Starbucks where the noise is just horrible and the coffee is expensive, or at home where my toddler won't let me finish homework lol. What interesting architecture at Coral Gables Library! (1968, same age as me!) I cannot believe…read morethat I have been here 12 years and have never been before. Worthy of a visit if you are in the area. The building was built from native keystone, quarried in the Florida Keys, Honduran Mahogany doors, Spanish clay floor tiles, and wrought iron fixtures. The building's Spanish influence is apparent, conforming to Coral Gables' guidelines for the Mediterranean Revival style. The main reading room has 15-foot high ceilings with exposed wood beams. It was designed by Edward T. Rempe, AIA, and his associate, Wray G. Succop, AIA. The library's interior is a blend of Spanish and contemporary influence.

The standout here is the Cuban Heritage collection, which is open to the public and has an amazing collection of lots of artifacts from Cuban history. Everything from the original daiquiri recipe to copies of ration cards. The collection also partners with the Freedom Tower. A wonderful resource for the community.

Lots of mixed feelings about this place…read more Plenty of computers and floor space but oddly not enough tables and chairs. The study rooms are like freezers but midday on the second floor is an oven. Plenty of printers but the wifi is spotty. Recently the management changed study room policy greatly limiting the flexibility of group work- resulting in mostly empty rooms as opposed to the constant battle for them. The stacks are quiet but have terrible ambience and even more terrible internet connectivity. It can get a bit creepy at night as desperate study spot vultures circle the shelves behind you. Accidentally taking the elevator down to the M level is also reminiscent of a potential horror movie scenario with its locked cage gates and dimly lit narrow aisles. Nonetheless, the place is open 24/7 during finals and is a reliable place to surround yourself with people doing mildly academic things. You'll at least feel a little less guilty about not studying after sitting here for half the day. Try the music library or the law library for a better library experience. If you're just here to get books, Richter is just as good as any other. At the end of the day, Richter is a University Library which could be a lot worse and has a fair number of amenities, and at least- does it's job passably. More like a 3.5 but I'll round to 4 for effort!
