The atmosphere is great and very conducive to rehabbing injuries sustained on the job and beyond. The place is setup in the back like a work environment. I mean, if your a fireman you can climb out of a window and go up stairs. I saw people pushing around Mack truck tires. The staff is great from Jen at the front desk to therapists Emily and Nancy. They help keep my spirits up while helping me recover. They are good people that are great in every way. I asked about Emily baking brownies and she made some that all of us clients "dogged". I don't want to add about Sheila and Guy that also lend their expertise from time to time, but it's unavoidable. They work in other facilities for Rehab...Sheila comes with food talents. The time reduction resulted in a significant change in the quality of therapy. While the staff did their best to squeeze in as many of the former exercises, the sessions became rushed, and it was clear that there was not enough time to provide the needed level of therapy. He is clearly very skilled and knowledgeable, and he immediately instilled confidence. Having this surgery was a major decision, and Dr. Gwinn put me at ease, and I believe I made the right decision choosing him for this procedure. I also have nothing but good things to say about his PA. If you choose MMI, you will likely receive quality medical care. Now, the bad: Quite literally, everything else. I have never experienced this much frustration dealing with a medical office staff. Communication is pretty much nonexistent, and when you do reach someone, most of the time they pass the buck, say your issue is not their department, and then blind-transfer you to a voicemail box. That voicemail will not be returned. You will have to call back over and over again, and even after explaining that your voicemail was never returned, you will simply be blind transferred to the same voicemail again, ad nauseam. This is true of scheduling, medical questions and concerns, administrative issues, etc. This is beyond frustrating, especially while recovering from major surgery and navigating other issues such as FMLA concerns. Also, if you need any forms filled out, they will nickel-and-dime you. Need a one-pager stating that you are medically fit to return to work after FMLA, that's $10, need another form, that's $10, even if you download it digitally. I'm not really concerned about the small fee, but it seems petty, especially considering I'm continuing to have and pay for follow-ups with the doctor. It's just another example of a top-down culture that seems to be anything but customer-focused. Again, I'm grateful for the quality medical care I've received from Dr. Gwinn. That being said, I think the way this practice is run is detracting from that care. As frustrating as the totality of my experience has been with MMI, it's unlikely I would recommend the practice to a friend, family member, or colleague.

Demand that they show you in writing that they have submitted the authorization to your health insurance before you do anything else. ATI did not submit the authorization before performing treatment and, other than the initial intake exam portion of the first bill, we have been billed for the entire amount, almost $3,000. Three phone calls to both ATI and our insurance provider and we were told the authorization would be sent, but the EOB denials state denied because authorization was not sent before treatment started and never received since. They are also charging full amount, not the Medicare allowed amount, which nearly triples the bill.

They've helped with major knee surgery recovery and then also minor aches and pains with other family members. They are nice as well and really encourage you to keep it up and back to normal. There's aquatic as well (haven't used it, but it's there if you need it). Highly recommend.

I was also able to stop in the back pool area to say hello to a friendly face, Kyle you are awesome on land or in the water. I saw Daniel for the first time and the knowledge and professionalism he has was flawless. Daniel worked on the neck and shoulder with such ease, he really knows his stuff. Just to give an example of the team atmosphere while i was doing my exercises another therapist named Lisa had eyes on me to correct my form that needed to be corrected while with a patient. It really is a team effort and I cant wait to go back on Monday!
