The atmosphere is great and very conducive to rehabbing injuries sustained on the job and beyond. The place is setup in the back like a work environment. I mean, if your a fireman you can climb out of a window and go up stairs. I saw people pushing around Mack truck tires. The staff is great from Jen at the front desk to therapists Emily and Nancy. They help keep my spirits up while helping me recover. They are good people that are great in every way. I asked about Emily baking brownies and she made some that all of us clients "dogged". I don't want to add about Sheila and Guy that also lend their expertise from time to time, but it's unavoidable. They work in other facilities for Rehab...Sheila comes with food talents. She makes cake like know other. When one therapist is out, you get the same treatment and therapy from either one of them. I love these women and Guy for their spirit. So, make an appointment with Jen and get your day started right.

If your physician gives you a referral, take it to ATI on your first visit, but DO NOT ALLOW them…read moreto perform ANY therapy beyond the initial intake exam. Demand that they show you in writing that they have submitted the authorization to your health insurance before you do anything else. ATI did not submit the authorization before performing treatment and, other than the initial intake exam portion of the first bill, we have been billed for the entire amount, almost $3,000. Three phone calls to both ATI and our insurance provider and we were told the authorization would be sent, but the EOB denials state denied because authorization was not sent before treatment started and never received since. They are also charging full amount, not the Medicare allowed amount, which nearly triples the bill.

The ultrasound check was funny and made sure I could find my way out. Usually on medical appointments, your left to your own devices searching for an exit sign. My appointment was scheduled for 3:30 p.m. and I was out at 3:26 p.m.! Highly recommend for your imaging needs.

The time reduction resulted in a significant change in the quality of therapy. While the staff did their best to squeeze in as many of the former exercises, the sessions became rushed, and it was clear that there was not enough time to provide the needed level of therapy. But we made 80+ phone…read morecalls and visited every facility that would take a Medicaid-pending resident and this was the best of the few available options. Let's face it: someone without money isn't going to waltz into a 5-star facility, and just has to hope for something adequate. At Northampton, care plan meetings happen every quarter and are informative, requests are followed up on, the Medicaid liaison is an absolute star, and we get a phone call if a fall, illness, or change in medication occurs. The front desk staff is friendly and excellent at screening visitors to keep them from spreading illnesses to residents (I can't believe someone complained about that!). When there was a covid outbreak, the facility moved ill patients to a covid wing to minimize spread and kept us informed very well. As for the resident experience: Overall the facility appears clean -- sometimes when we visit there is an odor if someone has had an accident, but that is the exception. The building is old and in need of some repairs, but the 2-people-per-room setup is better than another place I looked at that had 4-per-room. The dining/activity room is very nice and bright, and the staff decorates it for holidays. Meals are served on real plates in warmer containers and they are fine. There are activities offered, but of course not comparable to a more expensive facility; I wish there were more music and performances and pet therapy to engage the more passive residents. A lot of the hands-on care staff are terrific and very kind, and some could be friendlier and more responsive, but they all do a very difficult job and we are grateful. They know the residents and in my relative's case are understanding of their individual habits. Unless you can buy your way into somewhere great, living in a care facility in the U.S. is not going to be a picnic. If you are looking to place a loved one, you have to just do the best you can and choose from the available options (and hope Medicare/Medicaid don't get axed!).
