Honestly the worst attorney to ever use on any real estate deal. We used him 13 years ago on the purchase of our home and he missed violations and numerous other issues. He was awful. Then we went back to the law offices that had him working for them; when they asked us to use him again I balked; told them he was horrible and I did not want to use him again. They asked me to give him another chance. I reluctantly did and it was absolutely the worst experience. When we went to refinance our home (he was the purchasing attorney), all the violations came up again. He took 6 weeks just to find out and look for the paperwork for the old purchase and resolve the issue. Thankfully I had old emails pertaining to the issues from before. Because of him, I had to resubmit all of the documents again to get approved a second time for the refinance since too much time had passed.
Then he worked on the purchase of an investment property. We discussed making sure the seller was out of the property or paid rent if he wasn't when we closed. Fred was not at the closing and we ended up paying the mortgage on the property for a week while the seller was still on the premises. Over $1000 lost there. He also said he would come up with a way to have the real estate agent who promised me a rebate, pay it. But then at the end he said he couldn't yet I I have found evidence online that this could have been done. I lost $10,000 there. If you want to lose money and still pay for a negligent attorney then hiring him might be good for you. But I would recommend to anyone the seller's attorney who showed at the closing that he knew what he was doing and protected his client. read more
