The only problem is I was not prescribed an amphetamine. She suddenly discontinued my medication and put it in my medical records I was non-compliant. I was then treated like a drug addict and criminal by a member of the front desk staff when I called to follow up. All Nicole had to do was google if Ritalin is an amphetamine. She had multiple opportunities to speak with me about my negative drug tests but chose to try and catch me in a "lie". At best this is human error, at worst this is plain negligence. If Nicole wasn't comfortable or familiar with prescribing ADHD medication, she shouldn't have taken me on a patient as I told her getting my ADHD treated was my main concern. I wasted a year of my life trying to get adequate treatment from Nicole Carr and she failed me. I now see Katie Padberg at Sunny Day Psychiatry who has been compassionate and never once made me feel like I was a druggie or "medication seeking" Stay away from Nicole Carr if you go here.

Empty waiting room, not answering phones and a closed window. Why are you scheduling people at this time? (I waited over 30+ min in a totally empty/quiet room). When I tried to ask if I was at the wrong time once the glass window finally opened, the lady was quite rude. Over the years there's been several "misunderstandings" with the office people. But it's not like I'm going to go find a new Dr or anything, so we just deal with it.

However, I did not know this until after I got to the hospital. When you're 37+ weeks along, it would have been nice to know in advance when your doctor isn't going to be around. But, there are bigger issues. Dr. Reining was the on call doc. Things were moving quickly. I got to the hospital around 4:45 am and delivered at 9 am. The baby's heart rate had a significant drop. My daughter was delivered by the hospitalist OB via forceps and an episiotomy. Dr. Reining came in after I delivered. Didn't say a word to me, and left. I was upset about this and wanted to discuss it with Dr. Meyer during my 6 week PP appointment. After all, when it's your first baby and: 1.) Your usual doctor isn't around 2.) The on call doc from her practice doesn't show up on time and there's an emergency. 3.) The hospitalist OB, although he was completely professional, delivers your baby using forceps. (Most younger docs would have used a vacuum.) It's a scary experience. I understand that OBs' can't be at the hospital all the time, nor do I expect them to be, but like I said, things were moving fast. I wanted to feel heard. Instead, she got defensive and snippy. I won't get into the details, but I felt patronized and dismissed when I brought it up. All I wanted was an apology and some understanding from her or Dr. Reining, but apparently that was unreasonable. I never expected to see Dr. Meyer in that light. Her personality went from hot to cold. But I lost all respect for her as a person and a doctor. For other reasons, like appointment providers being switched without my knowledge or consent, hour or more waits for the majority of appointments. I felt like a second rate patient at this practice. At one point during our conversation, Dr. Meyer told me, "If coming here troubles you, you can go to a different practice". That's exactly what I'll be doing. To anyone reading this...I would advise you to do the same. When it mattered, the doctors' and staff in this practice let me down in every way possible. I chose a practice of predominately younger women for a reason. Not the hospitalist OB who was older male doctor with antiquated techniques. I was looking forward to the wonderful experience everyone seems to have. Sadly, I got the opposite and was basically told to leave when I expressed my concerns.

A biopsy was done initially through SLU Hospital and the entire experience there was traumatizing to say the VERY least (with the exception of some of the nurses because I don't want to paint everyone with a broad brush). When we felt like we were shucked to the side with SLUH, we went seeking out a 2nd opinion and new neurologist and neurosurgeon. The level of seriousness and care at Barnes has been above and beyond anything we could have ever expected. So I searched my maps and found Arthritis Consultants, I called on a Thursday and they had me in by Tuesday! Dr. Ince was fabulous, not only he was friendly and showed genuine concern for my pain and discomfort, but he has a wonderful personality, great humor and makes brief small talk to get to know his patients yet, not too long to keep others waiting. He gets directly to the issue and addresses it with passion and finality to assure the most effective and immediate treatment in order to offer the most expedient relief to his patients. I know this because I have experienced this when I needed immediate treatment from weeks of pain that no one could diagnose! And what's more deserving of notability is that even with a strong accent, he speaks clear and precise and is very articulate, leaving no guesswork to his instructions! Finding Dr. Ince has not only been a blessing to me, but his entire team is courteous and compassionate as well! His assistant, Tasha has been absolutely terrific and helpful!l Never have I had a more enjoyable experience in the face of pain and anxiety and the ongoing journey to normalcy! The way that this office is run is incredibly unorganized and unprofessional, not only in my short experience there, but also in trying to make the appointment itself. The US healthcare system is an abysmal failure, insurance is a nightmare, so the least an office can do is have a pleasant experience for patients. This one unfortunately missed the mark today. 1. Played phone tag for months. When I finally got hold of someone, the person I spoke with seemed very rushed and very cold on the phone. 2. Was a new patient, scheduled that day (one success of the day! flexible timing), but was told to print out all paperwork and have it done before I come in. Having to come in 30 minutes before your time is also intense. Having paperwork ready for new clients is kind and pretty standard, so that was an odd request on top of the half hour wait. 3. Was told this specific Dr. took a particular insurance as a secondary insurance by multiple sources at Mercy and online, then was met with a lot of pushback from the office. 4. Bombarded me with paperwork, at one point two office staff came into my room and one was explaining, page by page, how to fill it out as quickly as possible, while another one (at the same time) was asking me to sign an agreement saying that if my insurance fell through (the one that I was told would work) I'd be responsible. I was incredibly overwhelmed and asked for space. 5. The Dr. visit was fine. However, I wasn't told I was getting the tests in the room or briefed about what specific tests would be done, so I started to leave, but was told to go back to my room as I was getting tests done at the office. 6. The person who took my blood did their job. I was told I could leave. I started to leave. Whoops. They forgot another test. Had to get poked again. Bad day to be someone who notoriously passes out from needles. 7. Okay, I left finally. Scheduled a follow-up. Right as rain? Nope. 8. Someone didn't give me paperwork to sign for a test to be sent off, so my options were to figure out a way to print it off and sign it after I was 20 minutes away, or have to be poked again the next day and miss work. I thought it was an off day, seeing as when I pulled up the fire alarm was going off, everyone was outside, and a fire truck was present (ended up being a false alarm? should have been my first red flag) So I understand being flustered, but upon reading these other reviews I'm not so sure. I know it's not all sunshine and rainbows for healthcare workers either, you're probably overworked and just trying to do your jobs and see patients in a timely manner, but you could do so with so much more patience, kindness, and better communication.

Dr. Otto and Diane are always so personable and take the time to answer all my questions. They always make it feel like I'm stopping by to visit an old friend rather than going to the doctors office. The office is conveniently located just off I-44 and even though it's about 30 miles from home, my wife and I both go there because of the care we receive from Sprout MD. It truly is a completely different experience than what anyone would be accustomed to in the medical field. There is a distinct difference when making an appointment at Sprout MD in comparison to any other doctor or specialist I might have to see. They truly care about their patients and I would highly recommend Sprout MD to ANYONE!!!!
