Once again we are back at this amazing place! We celebrated my hubbys b-day today, service and food was delicious! We were sat in the booth with gorgeous view. Waiter and other staff were so attentive! Bruno came to check if food/refreshment were up to expectation. This place makes me come back each time
Everything here was amazing from start to finish. Valet service is complimentary. From being attended at the front to being seated, our waiter Cruz was AMAZING. He was so kind, very attentive & made sure everything was to our liking. I think the manager also came up & made sure everything was perfect for us & everything was up to par. Our food was delicious, everything was fresh. No complaints whatsoever. It's s very low-light indoor setting, they play music as well inside & have a bar! It's super cute inside & very picturesque! I would come back again & will recommend to my friends & family when they visit Cancun!

Great service, view and delicious food. Restaurant is on the water which gives you a great sunset view. Lucky enough we got to see an alligator while sitting outside. Great vino listing but on the higher price range. Menu has a great variety of options. We tried the fish and coconut ceviche each had their own unique flavors. My favorite was the tempura tuna and it came with a yummy spicy sauce and was mouth watering. Salmon tacos were good as well. Dessert was the tsunami tiramisu which was presented in a unique style. It was yum. Service was exceptional, we were greeted by David at the front desk who was professional and friendly. Through out dinner the managers came and checked on us which made the dinning experience great. I would go back here again for sure!!
Ambiance is great whether you're inside or outside. The bread they give when you arrive is great too! Our cocktails were nice. The service lacked and I felt like we were ignored. We had tables arrive and be seated after us and they all left long before we did. At the end we spent $400USD for 2 adults and 2 kids. The oyster Rockefeller sucked! Tasted like old oysters. The tuna tostadas on the other hand were delicious! The kids fish and chips was also great! Fish tacos were a little dry and I felt like I had to dip them in the sauce to make it edible. My husband ordered the Mar Y Tierra platter with Ribeye. The Ribeye had great flavor but was tough in spots so not the best cut. The lobster and prawns were flavored well and cooked good. King crab was surprisingly good too for being in Mexico but the Octopus was so tough, they over cooked it. We had been there 2 hours and finally had to track a waiter down and ask for the check. The head manager did come out and give us a complimentary dessert & a ticket for a cocktail at another restaurant. That was nice but probably won't return to one of their restaurants. At the end for what we paid I felt it was good not great!
It turned out to be our best meal on our vacation to the hotel zone in Cancun. Lots of great choices within walking distance but from the JW this was the closest. Nice light and flavorful seafood selections with the usual perfect service here. It's always a team of servers and waiting never happens, no matter what you want. The king crab, lobster and more were all fresh and perfect. Not too crowded during the off season but still awesome, I'll always come back!
Another chain praying on tourists promising authentic food for a high price and subpar quality. I had the green rice with scallops. Presentation was nice but the scallops were fishy and definitely not fresh. When the manager came by to check on us I mentioned the quality and he would look into it but that's all. I wouldn't eat the food because I feared it was bad. Wife had the grilled octopus she enjoyed it. Shared a bottle of wine. Was a very cheap bottle overpriced but nothing new for restaurants to do. The tuna appetizer was good. Again not the freshest but fine. Won't come back, recommend many other places before this one.
Hands down the best dining experience I had while in Cancun. The interior is very clean, organized, with warm undertones and plenty of plants that provide a tropical ambience. There is a great view of the sunset at this restaurant, and the dj works hard to keep the chill party vibe going. The waiters were all extremely attentive and went out of their way to make suggestions from the menu, clear plates, and clean tables. Regarding the dishes, you'll want to try one of the ceviche appetizers. The shrimp ceviche came highly recommended. For main course, the grilled salmon and mojo shrimp are excellent. Be sure to skip the Italian part of the menu. If you are celebrating, they will provide some special services for you and your loved ones. End your meal with a choice of dessert (sorbet is great) and their complimentary coconut jellies. Cash or card is accepted. Gentlemen please note they have a dress code. You'll need to have a polo shirt, or they'll provide you one! (I got lucky, as the shirts were being washed when I arrived, so I could rock the tank top look) Enjoy!

Then we get to the food, i had the lobster tail which was huge but delicious, the others ordered the surf and turf and a different platter. So much food so delicious they even made an ice dessert to celebrate one of our groups divorce! Hilarious! I will be coming back next time i am in Cancun
Fred's was absolutely beautiful and was an amazing first stop as soon as we landed in Cancun. Everything on the menu looked amazing and the presentation of the meals was 10/10. The tacos are a MUST TRY! The staff were extremely accommodating and the drinks were fresh and sooo good. I loved it here and would definitely go back. Thanks to the manager for coming over and asking us if we enjoyed and thanking us for coming.

Came here with a group of 12 and the restaurant is beautiful. We sat outside that overlooked the water. I got a spicy passionfruit margarita. The service was amazing. Our server made sure we had everything we needed. The flaming coconut shrimp that was served tableside was really cool because they liked the rum on fire. I highly recommend coming here and we will definitely be back when we're in Cancun. read more

The service was top notch. From the greeter to the waiter. He showed us pictures of the food , spoke adequate English. The hostess was amazing. Kept checking on us. The food came out in a reasonable time. We had our salads and oysters. A great view. Just everything was perfect read more

Five stars! The dockside table looking out over the water was an amazing view for my party. The wait staff were extremely attentive, taking care of all of our needs and wants. The food here was delicious! I did try their steak and shared it with my partner. They had seared it and topped it off with liquor. The appetizer bread and butter is unforgettable. The service here is immaculate. I would highly recommend coming here! read more
I could have made a reservation with Open Table but I wanted a seat on the patio so I called the restaurant. It was easy to book a time when I wanted during the Holiday week (12/21) and when we arrived earlier than our 7:30 PM reservation time they sat us right away. We had a beautiful 4-top for the 3 of us on the patio next to the railing. The music was a bit too loud for our conversation flow but not too bad since we were as far away from the many speakers as possible. The staff were very friendly and helpful, keeping a close eye on our table. We ordered mojitos all around and many small plates to share, including pulpo cruj tzatziki, calamares empanizado, tacos de pescado res, crepe cake, tacos de salmon, lobster quesadilla. All the dishes were tasty but my favorite were the salmon tacos! Overall tasty dishes, quality seafood, delicious drinks, and good service. Prices are on the higher end, especially if you're springing for the recommended dishes like lobster thermador. read more

Ambiance was great and the service was really attentive. but the food left a lot to be desired especially for the price... We ordered tuna tartar and grilled octopus starters, tuna was fine nothing special, but the octopus was underdone, chewy and fatty it just wasn't appetizing, we barely ate half. For dinner we had the grilled grouper which was delicious, a tasty salad, and a lobster tail, which was overcooked, and didn't have good flavor unless it was smothered in butter. Didn't stay for dessert. Overall, overpriced and underwhelmed. read more

Sherry and I were staying at an all-inclusive resort for 5 nights and transferred to a Marriott for our final two nights. After eating All Inclusive food for a week, we were looking for a nice meal at a place with great ambiance and service. We read about Fred's on various sites and as it was right across the street, we decided to give it a try. Firstly, the place is really pretty with plenty of small accents to see along the way. We were seated on the patio facing the gorgeous lagoon just after the sun set. We could see the city in the distance as the music played in the background. Our wait team was Abraham and Oscar; two professional, attentive, helpful and friendly people. They had great smiles and were there for our every need without hovering. We got our drinks and shared a Caesar salad to start. Delicious. Sherry then had a mixed paella and I had Caribbean lobster. I've been waiting to eat it here all week. The paella was perfect. Very flavorful and more than enough. It was filled with fresh clams and mussels along with squid, scallops, shrimp and meats. Yum. I had my 11 ounce lobster tail steamed. That's 11 ounces along with the weight of the shell. It seemed small on my plate but I guess that's what you get for the going rate of $75. It was meaty and firm. The flavor was okay. I'm a New Englander so I'm used to Maine lobster, much more flavorful in my opinion. Hey I can say I tried it. It wasn't Fred, it was just what the taste was for this type of lobster After Abraham shared a video presentation of the desserts, we settled on the crepe cake. Oh man, what an amazing dessert! Layers of crepes filled with chocolate, caramel, cream and nuts. The presentation was even better with Abraham and Oscar lighting to silver boat filled with some sort of liquor. They took great measures to theatrically pour it from one to the other and finally onto the crepe cake! It was so freaking good! And so big! I'm glad we shared it. Fred's is casual fine dining and not cheap. The lobster put it over the top but if I ordered a comparable dish as my wife, it would have been just over $100 before tip. Ours was $160 with the lobster. Abraham and Oscar were part of the reason we loved the experience - great job! On the way out we saw that the music was played by a couple of DJs. Awesome job, the music was perfect. Try Fred's, you won't be disappointed! read more

Honestly EVERYTHING was AMAZING. We called in and we made reservations right away. The staff was on everything, bringing food, taking plates, keeping up on our drinks and orders. The food was soo delicious. Fresh seafood, cooked to perfection, so many spices and sauces and some items made right in front of you. The restaurant was right on the water and beautiful scenery. Very intimate and even had a kids play area. We loved it so much we came again a couple nights later before we left. Someone had told us about it at our resort and I wish we could thank them, it was worth it! read more

Manager avoided us when we arrived. He didn't say a word for 1 minute until finally I had to speak. We immediately felt unwelcome. Food was ok but definitely not worth the price. There's better managers and better & cheaper seafood nearby (I don't want to name the place but it's same side of road but further north. We planned to go there but missed bus stop). I was very fortunate to be in Cancun with my beautiful girlfriend and a few of her coworkers and even more fortunately, one of her co-workers had been to Cancun just a week earlier. She knew to stay away from the hotel restaurants and simply walk across the street to Fred's seafood restaurant. My girlfriend's friend, Susan made reservations for us at a private table virtually on the beach so close to the water. I love eating Mexican seafood because it's basically very citrus and raw sometimes or grilled with very little seasonings and lots of vegetables. Fred's didn't let me down. We started with the fish, shrimp, and octopus ceviche then moved on to octopus and bone marrow, the Seafood Tower, and finally the massive surf and turf with lots of vegetables. If I ever return again, I'm just getting seafood ceviche and surf and turf because they are huge. Service was slow at times but it was not for lack of effort. You could see that our two servers were overwhelmed why so many tables and multiple requests. They got things to us as fast as they could. There's also a DJ but when we stop by his Booth he wasn't there. The highlight of the evening was the 8 p.m. fireworks. We were told they go off every night. Strongly recommended! read more
First things first, I felt safe eating here - everyone wore a mask, tables were spaced far apart, temperatures taken, etc. Food was fantastic. They started with a little cup of spicy seafood soup to open the appetite and corn tortillas with some sort of smoked fish dip. The menu is extensive and seafood-oriented, something for everyone. We got the oysters (shucked perfectly and fresh, though a few were on the small side), the stone's tuna (cool presentation), and the tuna serrano, which came on a generous bed of guac. I may have ordered the wrong thing - the salmon poke bowl - it was just alright and quinoa could have used a few more minutes. The lobster bisque, salad with shrimp, and tacos all looked delicious. We were all too stuffed for dessert but two tables down, someone ordered the dulce de leche crepes flambeed table-side and the smell of it cooking was absolutely heavenly. Definitely check out and in particular ask for an outdoor table to bask in the sunset. read more

Went to Cancun on vacation and we heard from some of the locals while we were staying at the Hard Rock Hotel Cancun (DO NOT STAY THERE) about Fred's House having delicious fresh seafood. Now I'm all for the locals advice because i love to travel and have authentic and cultural meals when i go to different places. So we decided to make a reservation very easily online. The food was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING . When we first got there, they checked out temps, gave us sanitizer, and offered us indoor or outdoor seating. Outside smelt a bit but it was expected since we were sitting by the bay water at 830pm. It was beautiful the waiters were fast and nice. We were given a free sample of 2 of the chefs special, a fish dip and some spicy shrimp tomato soup. To DIE FOR! We ordered bottled FIJI water, calamari for the table, guacamole, lobster bisque (which they split in 2 bowls for us) and shrimp tacos. Everything was amazing. They lose a star since we took home some calamari and guacamole and they didn't give us chips or marinara sauce! We were very upset because we tipped more for all of that and it was never given to us. Other than that the food was FRRSH and DELICIOUS. I would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND if your in the area and prices were great! read more

I don't give many 5 stars...but this place earned it! We actually went there 2 nights in a row! Everything was delicious! Like EVERYTHING!!! The king crab was my favorite. The staff was so nice. They were very COVID conscious and I felt comfortable eating here. It's walking distance from a lot of resorts like Golden Parnassus, Hard Rock, JW MARRIOT, Secrets, etc. I highly recommend this place if you get tired of resort food! read more
Excellent service and very good food. We happened to walk by after a long day at the beach. They were so kind to let us dine even though I felt we needed to go shower first. You will love the good and service here. Everyone was wonderful and gave great recommendations The mixed ceviche was so refreshing. read more

Wow what can I say! It was my first time here and I was dining solo and the entire staff made me feel welcome! I asked if I could have a view of the sunset and accommodated me with no problem. Jorge and Luis were my waiters! They were both on point and took care of my every need! The food was delicious. I had a tuna tartare for starters and the tuna mignon for dinner. It had only been on the menu a few days and I hope they keep it! It was wrapped in bacon and served over mashed potatoes. The bacon just sent it over the edge! For dessert I ordered the below zero ice cream which was made at the table and let me tell you it's the creamiest ice cream I've ever had! They also brought me over a small cake and saying happy birthday to me! I highly recommend this place and everything about it was phenomenal! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. PS the DJ was awesome playing the 80's!! read more
