Decent but not the best ever. Went here w my wife and we sat on the patio. This place is a view of the strip but based on ratings thought i would try it. We got the shrimp croquettes for appetizer. It was strangely like mashed potatoes inside and not great. I ordered surf and turf w salad side. He didn't ask me how i wanted steak done. Waiter came back later and said they were out of steak. I ended up w coconut shrimp as main and they brought it w no salad. They were ok but meh. The salmon and salad my wife got were actually good and a recommend.
best ceviche in the hotel zone .. the fried fish was spectacular .. we also ordered the diablo shrimp plate and to be honest, all three dishes were exceptional. place is tucked in between the oxxo and natura hostel and can be easy to miss.. you would never know the quality of food that comes out of here unless you go in and give them a try. service was great and we got lucky with an air conditioned inside table.
Ordered pick up through Whatsapp - so convenient! We got the fried whole fish, some ceviche, and a couple orders of the coconut shrimp. Everything was delicious but wow the shrimps were excellent. So juicy and perfectly fried. Coconut flavor was mild and not overwhelming.
Fish tacos were filling and crispy with good flavor. Solid for the price. My friend ordered a variety of the other protein options and thought they were solid as well. Service was relaxed and location is good.
The food was great, the service was excellent and the ambiance is chill. The fish tacos were nicely cooked, the chicken was good, maybe 30sec less would have been more juicy, the steak could use just a hint less salt, but overall everything was good. Oh the Guacamole with the fried shrimp bits was actually pretty good! We finished Everything! one of the better guacamoles in the area.

A must stop if you're looking for low key delicious seafood, great service and a ton of flavour! We sat out on the patio (small) and enjoyed each dish (especially the margarita!) Service was amazing (and we appreciated the recommendations!) The patio does sit on the sidewalk downtown Cancun so although busy, they've created a cute little spot to enjoy (and we did!)! Next time we're in Cancun, La Bamba will be a must!
When it comes to tacos I think of La Bamba having delicious tacos! I still dream about it to this day! The staff is great and they're very quick about getting the food out! I stopped by here 3 times and loved my visit every single time! My favorite was their shrimp, fish, and chips and guacamole! They have seating inside and outside. Highly recommend coming here when in Cancun!

This was the best meal we had in Cancun. We went here THREE times in the span of one week for our vacation. The seafood is sooo fresh, usually my ceviches are super sour, but this place made it so perfectly that it was too sour and had that fresh taste to it. Everything on the menu looked so good, even the pizza but we only came for the delicious seafood. The pork belly tacos were SOOOO SPICY, had us dying so beware of that. The margs were DELICIOUS. We got 1L frozen margs and that thing was HUGE. We all got so fucked up from it and it was around $7usd. Great plan for a pregame! And they take credit card too! The place itself is small and usually a small wait time of 10-15 mins during dinner hours. Some seating inside and most of the seating is outdoors. Absolutely will come back one day!
La Bamba is a true hidden gem in the Cancun Hotel Zone. We ate a several restaurants in the area including the JW Marriott where we were staying and found food in the area generally lacking in flavor. Decided on a lark to explore the northern hotel zone for something family owned and not touristy and found La Bamba and ate there twice. The first time we ordered off the menu the chicken wings, ceviche, fish tacos and beef quesadillas. The ceviche is the best we have had in Mexico, which we find generally too tart for our taste but La Bamba'a is a wonderful balance of tart, natural sweetness and umami of the fish. The chicken wings were so well fried as was the fish in the fish tacos, both were super flavorful. We were so impressed with our meal and knowing we were headed on a fishing trip the next day, we knew we wanted La Bamba to cook our catch, if any. The extremely gracious host/owner? Patricio obliged us and sure enough we had a successful fishing day and brought our bounty of Mahi In the next day. Patricio and his team made us a Mahi feast in 10 different preparations, each and every dish more outstanding than the next. The star for us was the fried mahi fish sticks, which we decided is hands down the best fish sticks in the world! La Bamba has an incredibly talented fry cook with perfect batter for every dish, great crunch, crispiness and texture. This place will be a must for us if we are ever in Cancun again! 10 out of 5 stars for La Bamba!
This is a smaller place in a plaza, so blink and you'll miss it. I started with a margarita as usual. It's huge, as far as presentation it's not very fancy, it was tasty but as large as it was you'd think it had more alcohol to offset the size. But it did not. My wife ordered the aguachile with octopus. I ordered the Tuna Burger, and we got the steak quesadillas as an appetizer. My wife said she would give her aguachile a 3.8 out of 5. I thought the tuna burger was very tasty. Basically they took a tuna steak and put it between a hamburger bun. I can't really compare it to a regular meat burger. But on a scale of 1-10 I'd give it a 7. It came only with lettuce and tomato, but it had flavor enough. The quesadilla's were good, but nothing special, I'd say they were comparable to any you get at an average Mexican restaurant in the states. We came here because of the high ratings. Maybe we ordered the wrong things to try, I thought everything was good, but nothing that was so good it made me want to hurry back. read more

Decided to come here because it's expensive to eat on the resort we're at. We were sat down immediately and they promptly took our order. The menu is simple with just enough options to where everyone can find something they like. I had the skirt steak tacos and my friend got fish tacos, We also ordered a frozen margarita and mojito that were huge!!!!! The prices were fair for what you get and the atmosphere is casual and comfortable. The music is not too loud so you can have a conversation with your group. They are not pushy to get you in and out like other places. Will definitely be back read more

The food was great, the service was excellent and the ambiance is chill. This was the best food we ate in a full week of staying on Cancun, and the prices for everything we had were shockingly cheap. Only 4 stars because we had a bad waitress experience (brought us something we didn't order and brought shrimp tacos instead of fish tacos) but even with paying for the extra item brought out to us our meal was still under $40 US. The food is absolutely amazing and was the best we had anywhere in Cancun, from dive bars to fancy restaurants. The portion sizes can run slightly small, but with how cheap the menu is we had no problem ordering multiple starters. We had tried ordering for delivery the night before but the owner on Facebook said they don't do delivery, despite what Google/Yelp say. read more

Just WOW. I'm soooo glad this was our first stop after getting settled in to our hotel because now we get to enjoy it for the rest of our days here. We walked here from our hotel, as it's right on the hotel zone. There is no point in going anywhere else for really tasty food at a very reasonable price. The owner of the restaurant was also our server, and we received the best service! :-) It's a small place but definitely worth getting into. I would've been very sad if we only discovered this place on our last day. We had the tuna sashimi, mixed ceviche, fish & chips and two orders of the lemon pepper wings (highly recommend!). The only thing I can say bad for this place is we waited too long to visit this wonderful establishment. The food was incredible. Very fresh The owner was very knowledgeable and gave us wonderful ideas for dinner for tomorrow. He has a lot of different off the menu items but needs at least 24 hours ahead of time to prepare. Almost like having your own personal chef. Wish we could stay longer. read more

Excellent choice in Cancun. Great food and service. Low key, great value. We went 3x. The best dishes the group ordered were: "oriental" tuna tostadas, steak tacos. Also good: coconut shrimp, pizza, spicy tuna tostada, guacamole. The chicken tacos were dark meat and the least preferred of all the dishes. Great waiters. Definitely go here for some low key very good food. One note: the bbq sauce served with the coconut shrimp isn't the best match. Recommend eating the coconut shrimp with the aioli or remoulade they serve with the tostadas instead. read more

Tiny little restaurant 100% worth finding while you are in Cancun. We were staying at an all inclusive and craved a good solid meal. This place is amazing! Great seafood. Ceviche, seafood tower and octopus/water chestnut tacos were delicious! Definitely recommend! read more
Absolutely, no questions asked-five stars. The service here is the best I've had in a long time. I had the best time with the staff members. I went a total of 3-4 times I liked it so much. The tostados are my favorite. They were so crispy with the most fresh toppings. The pizza was delicious. They have fresh fish and lobster daily, so that is always a plus. The selection of course varies depending on what they catch. The drinks were inexpensive and strong. A good place to eat and also jsut hang out. I would 100% recommend stopping here while you're visiting. read more

Small spot with big taste! After a long day playing the sun, we ordered ALOT! Good prices. Highly recommend the seafood tower and fish tacos. The fried fish platter was SO delicious! Wish I would of taken a picture but I couldn't wait to take a bite. A definite stop if you're in the area. read more

Awesome food and very personal place. Ariadna was our air bnb host right next door "Ocean Dream" and recommended this spot. The owner was there and talked to ya for awhile. Nice guy! Awesome service and good food. We had the pizza half and half. Some wings and the croquettes "shrimp and fish"! read more
