I'm glad I'm reviewing this great business as my 500th review. Fred's Junk Removal is exceptional! I did a simple search online and found Fred and his website. I just needed to get rid off an old guest mattress. Fred's website was extremely easy to use to book my appointment. I chose a date, time, and left my mattress off to the side in the driveway. You have the option of taking a photo of the item(s) you are planning to get rid of. The day of the appointment, I messaged Fred to ask him if he needed me to be awake for the pickup. I had just worked a 12 hour shift the previous night and was exhausted. He replied very quickly to my text. He was prompt in his reply, friendly and he assured me he would take care of it and be as quiet as possible. I thanked him and arranged payment. You can pay by credit card, Venmo or cash... multiple methods of payment is so convenient. I Venmo'd him my payment and went to sleep. When I woke up later in the afternoon, the mattress was gone just like he assured me it would be. I never even knew he was here (my room is near the front of my house). I will definitely use Fred is the future if I need any hauling done. I will also recommend him whenever I know anyone in need of hauling / junk removal. Booked Fred's to remove my very heavy, double reclining 3 seat sofa from my third floor (no elevator) apartment. Booking on line was easy and Fred is immediately available directly by text for questions. I got a reminder email the day before and a text when they were 25 minutes away. They showed up in the middle of the three hour window. They had it taken apart, hauled downstairs and loaded up in about 5 minutes. Paid cash. Price was very reasonable for the job. Really nice man. And very patient I'm known nothing about dumps had a client with 1 TON OF TRASH...‍. I wanted to die day 2 of cleaning. But as a neighbor and a human we are here to help each other. I took this upon myself to do as a a friend and a person should when our neighbors hit hard times. Well doing this job I hit and bounce a few times really sad. Fred and his team quickly removed a king size mattress, box springs, and frame from an upstairs bedroom. They were able to disassemble the frame and negotiate a narrow doorway, a tight corner, and 16 steep and narrow stairs. I think the whole process took about 10 minutes. Definitely will be calling them again! read more

It was the easiest process! I just sent a text message to Fred (his number is listed on his site), sent him a photo of the items that needed to be picked up, and he let me know that there was a discount for getting all the items setup curbside. I scheduled the pick-up for 9am-12pm the following day, and by 9:45am all the items were picked up! The service was not only convenient but extremely affordable! I needed a queen mattress and box spring, motorized reclining loveseat, and an office chair removed and found Fred's with availability the very next day. It was very easy to book online and get a quote. My husband texted to make sure we selected the correct option online and Fred replied in minutes. After making the reservation online, I received an email confirmation right away. You are given a 3 hour window (12-3PM) and Fred will contact you prior to arriving. I received a text message day of letting me know that they'd be arriving in 10 minutes. Pickup was very quick (we placed some things outside, the rest was right by the front door) and the guys were professional and friendly. Pricing was very reasonable (Venmo is accepted) and I even had a couple small things that they were able to take with them (even though I hadn't mentioned it in my online reservation). Overall, I highly recommend Fred's for junk removal services! read more

Have used this service twice and super highly impressed each time. From inquiry to removal in less than 24 hours. The prices are extremely fair and it seems Fred is very generous in his assessment of what he's hauling. Mattress + box spring, a dissembled wardrobe and other miscellaneous items for $149? Goodness gracious - that's a tremendous value and much better than other quotes I received. Fred was highly recommended by another hauling company who doesn't serve this area. That says a lot when another reputable company can recommend another company. I did call several companies before actually getting a referral for Fred. Some were insanely out of my price point and others were too sales driven with a team and a sales matrix. Established in 2005.

I was selling an old GMC pick up truck. No one wanted to pay my asking price of $1000 so I decided to put it to work and earn the $1000 by hauling trash for folks. I landed a job here and there and made more than the $1000, the truck gave out and I bought another to keep going. I used to haul all my trash to the landfill but they kept raising the dump fees, My load price was $80 and soon the tipping fee was eating up most of my profits. I learned that by reusing and recycling junk and trash I could reduce the amount of money I was wasting at the landfill. Since 2005 we have only raised our fees by $19 for a load to $99 and now recycle or reuse more than 70% of the appliances, furniture and junk we haul away. In 2007 we became the only San Diego junk removal service to post flat fee pricing on our website, something our competitors hate. In early 2012 we surpassed our 10,000th pick up of junk in San Diego. Recently We purchased a 2013 Isuzu NPR truck with a 14x8 stake bed.
