Impact Environmental Co made it super easy to have the miscellaneous stuff/leftover constructional materials around our property hauled away. I contacted them and within 24 hours, they were out at our place giving us a quote and then hauling everything away on the spot. We paid $349 for 2 truckloads (like a large pick-up truck, not one of their trucks) worth of stuff to be hauled away. It seemed like a lot of money, but it was so worth it for the convenience of not having to make multiple trips to the dump. If we were to have it done it ourselves, it would have cost us at least $100 in disposal fees. On top of that, the 2-person team who came out were very polite and got the job done quickly. Started from the initial response I received to my Yelp inquiry and from there it was on. They were very receptive to my request, only one being the day/time for the pickup. They were very professional and considerate. The day of the pickup they called me before coming. Once here they called me to let me know they were outside. Went out, met them and was very impressed. My experience with Impact... was great insofar that the 2 guys, (Theo and William) hauled our stuff away AND dismantled our hall closet with care and respect of our property. They covered the floor with thick brown paper, their shoes with protective paper slippers, didn't make much noise doing it, and were careful not to toss the remains all over the place, but put everything in a neat pile before hauling the stuff away. I needed a place to come pick up my old living room furniture to make room for the new stuff. I had gotten an estimate from a different company and after we set something up the day they were supposed to come out they doubled the price, so I canceled with them and contacted Impact Junk Removal and was given the same estimate, only they never changed the amount on me. We contacted Impact Junk Removal late Monday afternoon and received a response in about 5 minutes. After a brief discussion they asked us to send a few pictures so they could provide a quote which they did in less than 30 minutes after receiving the pictures. The quote for three full size pickup truck equivalents, had a narrow range and was very reasonable for removing all of the items from their existing locations. They offered two possible 2 hour windows for they next day and we accepted their offer for the later one. The next day they called and asked if would be okay to arrive 15 minutes before the start of the 2 hour window we had selected. This was actually an advantage for us so we accepted. Their 2 person crew showed up at the arrival time they estimated and quickly confirmed the price would be at the bottom of the range they quoted. While wearing face masks the whole time they completed removing the numerous items that had accumulated over almost 20 years in a little over 30 minutes. They wanted to clean the whole area but we declined since we had decided to help a cash starved college student by paying him do some post-removal rearranging and we needed additional work for him to do to justify what we wanted to pay him. Besides, it's just too much fun to watch a 6'5" 20 year old male college computer science major sweeping and vacuuming a 2 car garage. Now that we know how affordable and easy this process is our only regret is not having done this many years ago. These guys were okay, I chose them based on the good reviews and because I was trying to find a more sustainable company. However my experience was pretty poor: -They arrived 3 hours early. This wouldn't have been a problem had I known. They said they tried to call me and while I did have a missed call, there was no voicemail left -The initial price quoted was extremely high compared to other work I had done. I was looking to remove a large amount of boxes, leftover from moving and furnishing a home, so the only required work was breaking down boxes and hauling them. The initial price quoted was disproportionate to the work required. They did negotiate with me and I decided to move ahead -The two contractors argued with each other and complained the entire time about the amount and type of boxes. The work was not unreasonable, it's not fun but it took them an hour at most -They filled my entire trash can with packaging materials from the boxes and I had to stop them. I expected the packaging materials to be discarded, not left in my home -They didn't see the boxes at the side of the house when they gave the initial quote even though I offered to show them (I just had to move my dog from the back yard). They didn't haul all of them away (see photo). In their defense, I verbally underestimated how many boxes were on the side of the house but they also left them there without asking or saying anything. At this point, it was more hassle for me to try and get them to take them away than to deal with the boxes myself. read more
