I met Michael and his wife after seeing their posts on Yelp. I reached out to them and requested a quote for reupholstering on my chairs. They were prompt in getting back to me with a quote. Then they came out to do an inhome inspection/review of the chairs. They were friendly, receptive, professional and answered all of my questions before doing any of the work. We agreed on the pricing and they took the chairs. With the amount of work done, it took about 6 weeks to get the chairs back. The finished product is below: the darker fabric is the original and the lighter is the upholstered job completed. I am so happy with their work, I have my dining room chairs being restored and reupholstered now as well! Give them a holler and they will get back to you in a timely manner. They do excellent work. I got the short end of the stick experience. I left two antique/heirloom pieces of furniture with them for over 8 months. The deposit basically was the cost because I ended up purchasing the fabric. The timeline was nebulous. I was told I would get it in September then October. I ended up getting the pieces at the end of November. When I did get the pieces the looked like they must have done a rush job at the end. The stain work is beautiful but the wood is rough. The upholstery is the biggest disappointment. Staples are showing. One of the three couch cushions is much smaller than the other two. The cushion fabric is gathered in places and the back tufts are uneven. There is fabric at the bottom of the couch that is not tacked down. Needless to say, I am going to have to have these pieces refinished. They are devalued by this work and it is heartbreaking. They were in my family all of my life and long before I was born. read more

Michael is FIRST CLASS ALL THE WAY! I have a 15 year old leather love seat and sofa combo (that I love!) which has 4 recliners. Two were not working and each also had small leather areas on the foot pieces that needed repair. He immediately went to work and had everything in top shape in short order. Scheduled to have my dining room chairs repaired. They came to my house, looked at the chairs and gave me open and honest feedback. Contacted them to get a price quote for reupholstering my two oversized rocker recliners. They quoted a price that did not include the fabric. Confused by this, I asked them to clarify that's what they meant since all the other companies I had contacted gave me pricing to include the fabric. I asked how do I even go about finding the fabric I want and figuring out how much of it I need? Immediately they decided they didn't want my upholstery job because I dared to question them on how to go about doing what they told me I had to do. All they needed to do was answer those questions and they would have had my business. Instead, they told me to go somewhere else to get it done. Come on! If you are going to refuse to provide the fabric at least TELL ME how to do this! Telling someone to just go somewhere else makes you look like you don't really want to work, and if that's the case, why the heck are you in business? I don't care about their positive reviews, this is rude to treat customers this way. Incidentally, I selected another company to reupholster them and they came out FABULOUS! I used Cervantes Furniture Upholstery and could not be happier with both the service and the quality of workmanship. Never once were they rude to me and even told me a place to go that I could look at fabric samples to pick from. Turns out it's not that hard to do and didn't require him telling me to find someone else to upholster them! I left photos on my review of them as well. Simple job that Free Bird rejected! read more

They restored a six piece bedroom furniture of my Dad's that I remember when I was a child. It's so beautiful with the restoration - sanding, new color, it being restored back to a sturdy and solid state. They also restored my Dad's two rocking chairs that he has always had. They look brand spanking new!!!! It was a lot of work, but they took care and time in doing a great job to restore them to what I had always remembered. These pieces mean so much to me and I'm so grateful and amazed at how they turned out! Not only did they want to know what I wanted with these pieces, but they also took the time to listen to my story to know who my Dad was and how these pieces played a role in our lives.
