It was an impulsive decision to sign for a class that would start in 30 minutes and I'm so glad I did. It was a great class. If you're more experienced, I'd think it'd be a more relaxing yoga class, but if you're a beginner, this is a great class that helps kick off your yoga journey. I liked the fact that our Instructor Linda gave multiple options from easier to more way to make the poses and movements challenging. I'm really interested in becoming more flexible and hope to continue. The only challenge is that I'm not always in town. But when I am, I'll definitely attend yoga classes here. I started coming here during Covid, my company was going through a major change, and life was feeling a little overwhelming. I walked in the door, and first, just wanted to be better. The positive encouragement was nice and uplifting, but the more I started coming back, the more the message sunk in and really started to have an effect, not just on my mat, but in my daily life, too. I found my mood improving, no task was impossible, and yes, I can do hard things! I felt safe entrusting myself, my body into her sequencing. I'm no expert on Yin Yoga, but what I experienced was true to the style of Sarah Powers. I don't think it's a coincidence. Look carefully at the photos in the back of the studio and you'll find one of Sarah and Andrea (!) My ostensible reason for visiting was her David Williams workshop. The workshop ran for four days at a price I could afford. Although the other participants expressed shock and surprise I traveled so far, truth is - what I did wasn't even half so radical as David traveling to India to learn from Patabhi Jois, lol. I'm impressed and eternally grateful that a urban boutique size studio would host a teacher of this caliber. The gathering was intimate - not like those huge, impersonal yoga fests that go off like a rock music concert. The workshop was reasonably priced, the studio has ample parking and the general vibe is clean, well supplied with props, teas, water and goodies were available just like an olde time 70s yoga get together. I had so much fun at the workshop I decided to stay and take a couple of classes from Andrea herself and I was not disappointed. Here's the thing, in order to totally transform you have to let go. Letting go is scary, so you better trust the person you are dropping down to catch you. you can take that literally or metaphorically, take your pick. Alls I'm saying is, here I felt free to go. :)

I can get a package of 6 or 10 classes that don't expire for 90 days! For the business traveler like myself that can't get thier money out of a monthly membership this is perfect. I actually went there, but I didn't know where it was, so I called and a man told me, "There are no classes today." I asked for a refund, but the man gruffly said he couldn't refund it because he didn't know who paid for it, and hung up on me. Even though I was just trying to start yoga, I felt very bad about it. As for programs and equipment, The Club at Green Valley has Les Mills fitness classes (BodyPump, BodyAttack, BodyStep, CXWorx, and BodyVive), they have a great lap pool (it's not Olympic sized, but it's good for getting your laps in), a nice cardio room with plenty of treadmills, elliptical machines, etc., and a weight room. They also feature a unique program for young athletes called Parisi Speed School, which is a program designed to help athletes improve athletic performance, maximize their natural abilities, develop a higher level of self-confidence, and learn to prevent injury. If you live in the Greensboro area, check out The Club at Green Valley or their other club, The Club at Oak Branch. Both locations are great.! Other amenities available are child care (for a reasonable cost), a swimming pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room, and complimentary towels. There are two weight rooms, two circuit sets, and two cardio areas. Additionally, there is a yoga and ab area for those who want to stretch out or do their own workouts. They also offer an array of programming, including a full offering of Les Mills classes, spin, water aerobics, and small group functional training. There is no comparable gym in Greensboro, especially since The Club has two locations. I have been a member for over 3 years and would never consider changing gyms.
