Until I started trying to bring in my own music from local bands that I play in. I've tried to bring in two separate projects from two different bands on two separate occasions. I walked in and politely introduced myself and presented the situation. I said, "I play in such and such local band, and we made some physicals of our last project", and then I'd ask if they'd be willing to sell some copies at their store. The first time, the employee literally laughed at me and said "I mean, I guess", and took out $1 price tag stickers and put them on my cassette tapes right in front of me. The second time, the owner Bryan, didn't even return my hello, audibly groaned under his breath and told me "he's super busy right now". He barely even looked at me, let alone check out what I brought in. I understand if the demand for local music isn't as high as other things. But the way this store goes about turning people away has 100% ensured that I'll never spend another dime here. Whatever they've got going on at this store; they certainly don't care about local music.

The store itself is well-stocked, organized and has an overall amazing vibe. They play GREAT music. They have a really well curated collection of stuff and I was super impressed by their collection of funk/soul/r&b. I found a number of cool stuff. I will say, their prices are really high, especially with condition of records. They were asking $25 for a vinyl with a shredded cover that I purchased in VG+ condition for $20 elsewhere. I would have bought WAY more from them, but why would I pay $15 for a record i could buy for $8-10 elsewhere that's probably in better condition? I know there's a premium on all records up here but with sales tax so high, it really prices out the base consumer. I had a stack of 30 records I wanted, but ended up only getting a few. I got two t-shirts and 3 records and it was $120. Ouch. Their "bargain bin" was anything but a bargain. Thrashed records, asking $15-25. Still a cool store, with great selection of genres. The lady that checked me out was really nice.

Customer service is good, they are not overly friendly but very helpful when you ask them to help you find something. The place can be confusing as to how it's arranged but to me that's part of the fun. As for pricing, I think they're fair, about the same as the other more popular discount book store.

FYE, it's kind of taken on the same direction as Hot Topic has as it specializes in a lot of geek…read morememorabilia from shirts, magnets and action figures. An exclusive music store it is not any longer but that is what you have to do either companies have to adapt or close. With that said I actually was impressed with the action figure selection here. Marvel Legends, Star Wars and DC action figures all caught my eye and I must say most of them I haven't seen at any other stores that I have been to so that is something I will definitely etch into my mind and it gives me a little bit more motivation to go to the mall. As far as prices go FYE has always been moderate to on the more expensive side of things. Much of the merchandise as well as the action figures reflect this but action figures in general(especially Marvel Legends) raise their prices just like stamps do. Music selection has always been fair with FYE. Seems like my musical tastes gets more specific and my preferred music has become older so the likelihood of locating music I enjoy diminishs at the few surviving music stores in my area anyway.

this is for the employee who complimented my haircut/had a similar hair type lol (didnt wanna hold…read moreup customers)- just look up diy wolf cut vids and any of the ones with two ponytails (1 in the front and 1 in the back) is pretty much exactly what i did. with curly/wavy hair you can play it sloppy and fast and it still looks good and saves you a ton of money i also use a co-wash instead of shampooing every wash, (and use a clarifying shampoo two to three weeks to remove build up) it helps retain moisture and curl + a satin pillowcase at night to reduce breakage and dryness. sorry this is not really a review LMAO

The checkout experience was smooth, though the space is a bit tight and there aren't many cashiers, so I could see it getting crowded during busy times. The reason I'm not giving 5 stars is the buyback program. I brought in 12 books that were new or in like-new condition (no damage, no markings and some hadn't even been read) and was offered just $0.50 per book, totaling $7 for all 12. This included three complete series and several standalone titles. Out of curiosity, I checked their shelves and saw some of the same books priced between $8-$15 each. Overall, it's a great place to shop for books, but I wouldn't recommend selling here if you're hoping to get fair value especially if your books are in excellent condition.
