We currently have one child in Primary and one in Elementary, and both are thriving beyond what we ever expected. Our extended family has even commented on how much our kids have grown -- not just academically, but in their confidence, curiosity, and love of learning. What stands out most is how personal the experience feels. The teachers are genuinely caring, and we love that there are bilingual educators and an environment that supports the whole child. It's so refreshing to see our kids learning in a way that goes far beyond "sitting at a desk and memorizing." The school offers an abundance of enrichment and extracurricular opportunities, and it's clear they're focused on supporting each child as an individual. We are truly grateful to have our children grow up in such a safe, nurturing, and inspiring environment... even if part of us wants to keep it our little secret!

Last August 25th, after reflecting on the challenges my son faced at DMA in September and October…read moreof last year, I felt ready and shared a down-to-earth personal review.   Instead of receiving public feedback, I received a certified letter from a law firm, demanding for my review to be removed immediately, otherwise "we will sue you to obtain an order requiring you to remove it, and to recover significant monetary damages against you, including, but not limited to, punitive damages, and the attorneys' fees and costs Dynamite Montessori incurs in the case under A.R.S. 12-341.01 and A.R.S. 12-341". They reminded me of a contract clause that restricts what families may share publicly about the school without prior written consent. This clause is part of the agreement that parents must sign when enrolling their children. So, in the interest of focusing on providing for my son instead of defending myself against what I feel are insubstantial accusations, I am removing my previous review. We were part of the DMA family for almost three years. 100% involved and devoted to all the school activities. Our son attended from June 21, 2022, until November 1, 2024. In my personal opinion, DMA can be a good choice for any "non-Montessori" child to gain some exposure to a Montessori environment in their early years. The place looks pristine, with the right materials, strong infrastructure, and opportunities for children to learn--especially if they happen to be among the more "gifted" ones and can learn by themselves. I have been a Montessori mom since our son was born, and we initially thought this was the perfect place for him. Last year, however, in his third year of primary, my son developed a behavior we felt unrecognizable to us and was told "not to be kindergarten ready" and "maybe not a good fit for a classroom at all". My family, especially my son (5 years old at the time), went through a nightmare that took almost a year to recover from. Fortunately, today he attends a large Montessori school where he has adapted beautifully and is thriving as the amazing child he has always been. In his new school he is considered a bright kid and so far, there is not a single incident regarding his behavior. Looking back, we feel that his experience at DMA was heavily affected by a classroom dynamic that was challenging for his naturally calm demeanor. Today, we are sharing our feelings, in case it helps other families who may be uncertain--whether you already have a child enrolled or are considering enrollment.

My only negative, many people here park in the No Parking, fire lanes. No one at the school does anything about it. No duty aides outside moving cares, notes, or anything to stop the behavior. I asked once and was told "it's always been like that, people don't listen". As a fire wife, this frustrates me to end! I want to know my daughter is safe in her class and has FULL access to emergency personnel if needed. Other than that, we really love being apart of this school!

The teachers are overwhelmed and don't have enough support to handle high demand ASD kids especially ones that require outside the box thinking specialist and ones that require unique curriculum to help them grow. The school forced my daughter to do lower grade academics and then tried to say that I wasn't happy with her academic achievement! She received 100% in her Language Arts 3rd grade 4th quarter and they still insisted that she wasn't ready for 4th grade due to behaviors. Since the start of the school year, my daughter struggled with the high demand that was being placed on her to fit into their programs and she was purposely placed in lower academic curriculum due to her behavior and I tried to constantly advocate that the behaviors were due to boredom but no one would listen to me. I was told that until my daughter started following directions and behaviors improve, her academic would stay the same. I just recently had my daughter's IQ tested and it came back top 5%. She tested into 5th grade reading and 7th grade spelling; her math was behind because the school refused to teach her grade level math telling me initially that she was behind and then they said oh we are too ahead in the curriculum and we can't have her join the 3rd grade class then they wanted me to get her caught up during the summer if she wanted to be in 4th grade. The owner (Victoria) just doesn't really care about your children. Your child is just $$$$ to her. She just wants the money and wouldn't care if your child succeeded or not. They have also had such a huge turn over with their staff and I am not surprised at all. The only reason I tried this place was cause of the so called "great reviews". I usually don't like to place reviews, but I just had to share since so many people recommend this school! I would be very careful with placing my child here.

Her teacher is excellent! My daughter's handwriting is perfect and she's reading and writing complete sentences. She's understanding phonograms and is excited to go to school every day. The school is organized well. The teachers are kind & warm. It is easy to get prompt replies from staff when communicating. I LOVE the uniforms. No concern about who's wear what brand etc. We have met some wonderful parents and have really like that parents are involved in their children's education at Cheyenne. From the moment we joined the school community, we could see why so many families speak so highly of it. The staff is truly wonderful and many of them have been there for years, which says a lot about the environment and leadership. Everyone we've interacted with has been personable, responsive, and genuinely happy to be there. The PTO also goes above and beyond to bring joy and support to both the students and the teachers, which creates such a positive atmosphere on campus. There are so many incredible people at the school. Molly has been wonderful, and my daughter absolutely adores her kindergarten teacher, Miss Hayes. Miss Quandt, the art teacher, is also so inspiring, my daughter comes home excited to talk about what she's learning in art. And the Principal Miss Baca is truly exceptional. She's a fantastic communicator, wonderful with both parents and kids, and you can tell she deeply cares about the students and the community. We feel very lucky to have her leading the school. I also appreciate that the kids wear uniforms and are taught to treat each other with dignity and respect. The structure at the school helps children understand expectations and take pride in doing their best. The red and yellow light discipline system gives clear guidance about behavior, and it's evident that the students understand it and respond positively to that structure. Overall, we have been incredibly happy with our experience. It's a supportive, structured, and caring environment where kids can truly thrive. Not only that, is it even legal to hold a child over a parents wishes? I should be able to pick up my child at any time without being treated like crap. The teachers didn't like that, and were really rude saying "You're not supposed to be in here". Calm down, it's the first day of school. I'm a 4th grade teacher. My family has been involved in many school. This one has been the worst for a new kid.

My neighbors kid was a member of the church and her student was denied for kindergarten because he couldn't draw a complete circle! SERIOUSLY! he is now a sophomore at BROPHY! How the diocese allows this school to deny their own based on one person's opinion is scary. So parents do not be discouraged if your child is denied admission here since they are "selective". Your child will be okay.

I went to St. Francis for nine years; I attended kindergarten to 8th grade and was in class of 05'…read more Let me first say that K-6th grade was great, I had bad teachers here and there but the atmosphere of the school was relaxed, great classmates' good teachers and I had a good time. Then around 6th grade the schools then principle died from cancer and Ms. Elliot took over in her place as the new principle after that the school went from a fun learning environment to a horrid lockdown strict hellhole. After Ms. Elliot came into power, they locked the gates and installed new ones; this gave me a very unsafe insecure feeling as they basically locked us in. They installed secretary camera's everywhere. They also took down the old playground equipment and installed newer "safer" equipment which basically sucked. Then they changed the way they release students to school making a "drop off lane" it was horrid and I had to wait 30+ mins in the hot sun for my mom to drive through the line to pick me up. Before the lane it took me 3 mins to walk to my mom's car and leave. They outsourced the lunch food to a horrid company that made the worst garbage not fit for human consumption. Even though the school upgraded the playground, cameras and the Jail gates, they never upgraded the classrooms, cafeteria, buildings and "blacktop". They said they would get rid of the nasty portable buildings by 2004 but here they are, in 2009 still standing! In fact they built way more crappy portable buildings where the old playground used to be! There are many things the school promised to renovate but they never got to it the management is generally lazy. As far as academics, the classes are harder then any of the classes I've experienced at Brophy College prep, they push grade-schoolers extremely hard I had about 2-4hrs of homework every night. They teach algebra and chemistry at the college level in GRADESCHOOL! 2-4 page research papers were common assignments for various classes each week in 7-8th grade. They always told us it had to be formatted in Perfect MLA format for high school, truth is Brophy's workload was WAY MORE LIENENT and less then SFX ever was.
