I definitely learned a lot about the Atlanta and South music landscape. Could not leave without taking a picture of the famous pink car. Before leaving I also had the opportunity to do the escape room and baby that was an experience like none other. The entire experience includes a tour guide and he did not come to play with us. Lots of fun and puzzles to figure out. I am not sure if we made it out safely or not but I had a few good laughs. I would definitely recommend if you're into music and leaning about the culture.

I am truly a fan of Civil Rights Museums, having visited museums in Memphis, Jackson, and…read moreBirmingham, I had high hopes. This museum is much smaller, however I truly enjoyed my visit. There's an abundance of history here, from an intimate exhibit on Martin Luther King Jr. to powerful videos of his speeches, and exhibits that highlight the history of 16th Street Baptist Church that really drum up your emotions. I appreciated the film about the Freedom Riders, activists who rode buses through the South to challenge transportation segregation laws. This museum dues an excellent job of honoring history while bringing exhibits to life and being engaging. I've visited the Center for Civil and Human Rights several times, but for the first time I experienced the interactive lunch counter exhibit. You hear people shouting racist slurs, threatening you, and telling you to leave, along with police sirens and guard dogs barking. The seats even vibrate for an immersive experience. It felt very real. It was intensely emotional and a bit overwhelming, however I am glad that I got to experience it. Overall, I truly enjoyed my visit. The content is powerful and challenging, but everyone should experience it, especially given todays social and political climate.

This galleries and the information are incredibly well presented and engaging. There are heart-breaking stories, unimaginable images, and video recordings that are just bewildering to listen to. Despite all the difficult things to read, to see and to listen to, I came out thinking about how life have changed for the better, and yet there is so much more to do. But there's a lagniappe that the Botanical garden doesn't even mention. Memberships at he Atlanta Botanical Gardens gives reciprocal membership in 350+ gardens around the US and Canada. But was I ever surprised to discover that it includes the Atlanta History Center. We were there Saturday and saved $29 each by belonging to the Atlanta Botanical Garden. I don't know about y'all, but I think that free is a very good price.

Lucky for me, during my trip, it was during Glow Nights. An amazing way to see this place. There is no wrong way to view this place. You don't have to follow a designated route. Pick a direction and head that way. Literally no wrong way to go here. It is massive and you will eventually cross paths with the group you showed up with at some point. I think one of the first places a lot of people go is to see the whale shark. So much so that you can take it in one of two ways. You can hop on the people mover and let is slowly move you through the tunnel. Or you can walk the tunnel at your own pace. whichever you want to do. Look up, see the whale shark and other enormous fish that glide over you and snap that great shot. Move onto whatever other exhibit you want, but you will not forget this one. I'm not even sure what direction we went after Ocean Voyager (whale shark). But we hit all the exhibits. One that sticks out was the Dolphin Cove, because it was their nighty night time. I just happened to pass by when the dolphins woke up to take lap or two. Cold Water Quest takes you through areas where you will see beluga whales, African penguins, rockfish, seahorses and more. This also is an area where you will encounter some crawl spaces with viewing windows to get you in the middle of it all. However, do be careful, not all of this is padded. The one part you think should be padded, where concrete turns to glass, the lip is not padded and I found out the hard way. Aquanaut Adventure is like a kids haven. Where you get to interact a bit. You'll see tortoises, alligators, eels and rays. There is so much more in here with over fifteen species. Southern Company River Scout is a great exhibit that reminds you to look up as you walk through here. Alligators loom above, you also get to see the otter floating around while it snoozes. Other things to look at are gar, piranha, bluegill, carp, tons of tetras, turtles and puffers. There are crawl tunnels in here, but I learned my lesson there. So much to see here it is easy to overlook any given exhibit. Take lots of pictures, it will remind you of what you may have missed the first time through. Just remember to not use a flash. Hit up the gift shop on the way out for sure, I mean it is the exit too. The Glow experience was amazing. How those performers do what they did, yikes, I could never. They interact a lot with the crowds.

The Georgia Aquarium is supposed to be one of the best and I saw first hand of how the inhabitants are treated and yeah, if they're gonna be contained-- i hope they're treated as well as they treat them at the Georgia Aquarium and are looked after by such loving people. The set up for attendees make it fun and exciting. I also ate at the cafeteria and I don't recommend the falafel sandwich. Looks good by the picture I posted but it isn't.

Inside the planetarium, the domed projection screen displayed the night sky in stunning 10K resolution, featuring a live view of the moon and surrounding stars. As you recline in your seat and look up at the beautiful visuals overhead, classical musicians perform a creative mix of timeless pieces along with arrangements from Star Wars and other contemporary music. The combination of the music and the immersive visuals made the whole experience feel magical. I had a fantastic time and would absolutely return for another show. It is a unique and memorable way to enjoy live music in a truly special setting.

The tasting room had more than 25 flavors of Coca-Cola from around the world. While it was fun to try them all, this was also the most chaotic and busiest room in the museum. The floor was sticky with Coca-Cola that had been spilled at some point, although who knows when! The museum itself can get a little too busy. The gift shop is nice, with plenty of Coca-Cola-themed merchandise, including cutlery, dishes, plush toys, and more. I picked up a couple of magnets.

I needed to see something Atlanta. Who knows the next time I will be back to this city and have time to see things. I have to say, I had no idea that this was not the original location of this museum. Relocated to this site in 2007, so I cannot compare this to the original location. I will say, it was most likely a good idea for them to get a bigger location. I am going to preface this by saying that I am not a big Coke fan. Haven't had on in years. Then why did I come here? Because I am a consumer of culture and history. Coke has a huge connection to pop culture over the years and you cannot deny the fact that this is a powerhouse of a company. Starting out here, they suggest that you get tickets ahead of time. However, not totally necessary, you can buy them on site. Quick security check and you are ushered inside. The first thing you do when you come in here is the Coca-Cola Theater for a presentation. While waiting for the theater opening up you will have an emcee keeping your attention and dropping some facts about the museum and some trivia questions. Also, you will get some suggestions on what to do, which exhibits to see fully, and what things to taste. After the theater, which can be moving and shows the connection we all have to one another, you are set free to explore whichever way you want to go. There are many exhibits and interactive areas to partake in. The list of exhibits: The Stores, Coca-Cola Stories, Icons, Beverage Lab, Taste It!, Scent Discovery, The Loft, and Polar Bear (photo op with the polar bear mascot). The pop culture portions of this museum really drew me in. Icons and The Loft really stick out. This is pop culture overload and takes you back to a certain year. You'll see something and be transported to whatever year that item may have debuted. From old cans to basketballs; motorcycles to speakers; and Santa to the polar bear. Big signs that are lit up show you exactly how things were displayed in yesteryear. Do be sure to visit the Vault. Where they hold the original recipe behind a mammoth wall of metal. This safe is huge which sits inside the vault. Don't get too near it, do not touch it, do not breathe on it. Just stand back and admire it. Another stand out is Taste It! Where you get to sample as much sodas from around the world. You get to take a sip of what is popular in any given country. There are some that are delicious and then there are some that just leave a bad taste in your mouth, I'm looking at you Italy and China (like seriously, how did you make a soda that tastes almost like barbecue sauce?). Stand out to me were the watermelon flavored one and the cucumber flavored Sprite. Don't knock anything until you have at least tried it. Of course, the end is the gift shop. Make sure to check everything over here and grab what you want. Make it to the register and they will ask if you want to purchase a mystery gift. It can be a discontinued item or something rare. Few years later we were able have a visit with our kids and there is no place in place felt bored. The interior designs and the exterior design is so wonderful and kudos to people who maintain this property in pristine condition.
