Beautiful. Loved that they had so many tulips! They're my favorite flower! There's a cute little playground for kids there. Also exhibits you can walk through. We were there with my niece and my brother in law saw a little boy in the play structure with his pants down pooping. Parents really need to watch their kids... Other than that, it was beautiful.

What an amazing place to visit! A friend showed me pictures of her visit here a few years ago so I knew that when I returned and had time this would be one of my stops. My granddaughter enjoyed the children's play area and spent some time there with her dad and myself. She didn't wanna leave when she realized she could build a shelter. The children's area has so many options that it helped make our visit even more fulfilling for everyone. I didn't realize how expansive and extensive the grounds are. If I lived in Atlanta, I would have a membership. We noticed many people taking pictures and having photo shoots, which made sense. There are so many golden spots at I don't think you can lose. I would definitely return and recommend that you visit if you haven't been here and you are in the Atlanta Georgia area it's right by Piedmont Park.

One of my fav spots in Atlanta on a pretty day! They are always working on beautiful exhibits and something new to see. These are photos from Spring '26 and it was amazing!! One of my favorite visits I've ever had! I will say it gets very crowded on the weekends, so if you can do a weekday visit that's best!! Parking also gets full, so if you aren't able to get a spot, there is street parking around.

Amazing garden with a lot of sections to room and explore. The garden is well maintained and beautifully curated. Definitely a great half day excursion.

We got the family pass. It's a no brainer if you are going to go at least twice in a year. Best to go during the week. They are even open until 9 pm in the summer. Less busy during the week around 6 pm. Beautiful grounds and nice shade. We went during the Niki sculpture exhibit, which was pretty cool. Love the orchid house.

I have been taking my students here on a field trip for years, before the Canopy Walk. Every one of my students love it now as they did then. From the vibrant colors of the flowers, to the Rainforest and seeing the poisonous tree frogs, we are amazed! The walk is not too long and cooking in the morning hours is the best. Keep in mind, that a lot of moms come with their babies and toddlers, so prepare elementary kids to move gently throughout the garden. As we study plants in my Science class, bringing my students here enhances their learning experience. We will continue to come back for this great experience.

The Alice In Wonderland exhibit was one for the books! The garden is very large and you can spend at least 2hrs there, so bring comfortable shoes. Rain or Shine you'll have a great time. If you appreciate nature & art, you'll love this exhibit. I believe they change exhibits seasonally, but check the website and Book your tickets!!

Absolutely loved this botanical garden. We hesitated about visiting at first because it was a hot July day, but since we were just in the area for a few days, there wasn't the option of returning at a cooler time. I can say even with the hot weather I am glad we made the decision to visit. Tip: get there at opening if possible. The summer theme was Alice in Wonderland and they had some creative and beautiful topiaries that went with the theme. The topiary of the queen playing croquet with the flamingo was truly stunning. There were multiple gardens each with different themes and styles. Several had lovely sculptures showcased. The conservatory was huge. It had numerous rooms with different "climates". The orchid room was lovely with a myriad of orchids displayed in artful ways. There was also an edible garden. It was full of herbs and vegetables and edible flowers. They had a kitchen exhibition with tastings in this garden. The recipe of the weekend was an amazing fried okra -with samples! There is a parking garage on site as well as a restaurant and a cafe. Plan to spend a minimum of 2 hours and perhaps more. Well worth the price of admission.

Came here for the Cocktails in Wonderland event with my husband and friends and had a great experience! The gardens are absolutely beautiful, with different and interesting gardens every few feet. Most of the gardens are outdoor, with something buildings that house plants as well. During the event, there were beverage and snack stations setup throughout the park, and walking around with cocktails and beers, while enjoying the beautiful gardens and live music was absolutely wonderful. We had a great time, and I'd absolutely love to come back here again.

I have had a Membership to the Atlanta Botanical Garden for Two Years, but have never had a chance to go. I have always been one of the "I gotta get there soon" kind of people, and soon has never seemed to come. However, this past weekend, it finally came. As we celebrated my sister's 34th birthday, she wanted to walk the Alice in Wonderland exhibit. As such, we decided to gather as a group and do an exhibit walk to enjoy the sights together. Arriving at the Atlanta Botanical Garden was smooth. The parking was simple as the signs were easy to follow and there were ample parking spots. Once parked, it was easy to navigate to the front entrance for check-in as well. The exterior of the Atlanta Botanical Garden presents as a visual draw on its own. The wood and water design capture your attention as the natural scales of nature feed into the man-made features of benches and signage as you are guided to the entrance doors. This is a great play on art and nature as they come together to set the tone. As a member of the Atlanta Botanical Garden, I was able to bypass the ticket window and head directly inside to the gate for check-in. The agent was all smiles and very pleasant. Once I was welcomed in, I was met with a map to help guide my adventure and assist me in not getting lost. After we got through the main foyer area and walked into the main outdoor area it was nothing but moment after moment of visual capture and eye-pleasing sensations that set such a calming tone for the moment as you walked the path and took in all that the Atlanta Botanical Garden had to offer. As we continued through the side of Enchantment on the path to Wonderland, all I could think of was Peace, Tranquility, and Artistic Genius Craftsmanship. Arriving at the Alice in Wonderland Exhibit within the Atlanta Botanical Garden was nothing short of breathtaking. Detailed as a moment to "Tumble down the rabbit hole for the final chapter of larger-than-life plant blooms inspired by Alice's Adventures in Wonderland in Atlanta's Urban Oasis. Alice's Wonderland features 38 larger-than-life sculptures in seven installations inspired by Lewis Carroll's timeless tales, plus Shaggy Dog and the now-iconic Earth Goddess, two pieces in the Garden's permanent collection from the 2013-14 exhibitions Imaginary Worlds: Plants Larger Than Life and A New Kingdom of Plant Giants. Let imagination be your guide as you enter the Garden through giant Storybooks. Discover Alice spinning in a whirl of teacups and playing cards. Watch out for the Queen of Hearts and her Chess Set army as you greet the new Singing Flowers on your approach to the 27-foot-tall White Rabbit floating in the Skyline Garden, where you'll also encounter the toothy grin of the Cheshire Cat." the exhibit is exactly as it is written. As you walk through Wonderland, you are engrossed in the world of Alice and all that you can remember from the tale. As you take in each creation, you are taken back to the scene when the character is first introduced or to their most memorable scene. Furthermore, the placement of each character is sheer genius. Instead of one after the other positioning, you have a strategic placement of each curation as it sets not only its own tone but shares its own expression as well. It's as if the set forms its own story within the overall story within Wonderland. Best of all, as you think it can get no better... the Queen of Hearts takes it all!!! This is a design that stops you dead in your tracks and commands your full attention. You will respect the Queen and Bow Downnnnnnn!!!!

While in town we decided to come check out the gardens since they had the Alice in wonderland displays. On a hot day make sure to have on comfy clothes, sun block & bug spray way too many Plants & trees! U go about your own pace here so much to see, the Alice in wonderland displays were very cool. Lots of flowers & things to see, a cooking demo was cute since it was prepare with the veggies grown on the property. Cute animal area w the crazy looking poisonous frogs, the hot & cool area for the various trees all pretty interesting to see. This place is very big, lots of walking with plenty to see it was an enjoyable afternoon.

I've not been to the Atlanta Botanical Garden in like 20 years, so it was good to revisit! And I especially dug the Alice in Wonderland theme. The book characters were smattered throughout the green space in addition to what looked like regular landscaped scenes. I loved the Goddess area. It made me feel a level of calm and it felt very serene there. I went on a summer day in July...I don't recommend doing this. I'd say visit these gardens between fall and spring for more enjoyability. Despite the season, there was a food and drink vendor and I was able to procure water and a frozen treat. Overall, good visit, but it is important to note these gardens don't allow any outside food and drink. I feel we should at least be able to bring water inside. Making folks buy water on a hot day is inhumane.

such a delightful experience coming to see the Christmas even at the Atlanta Botanical Garden. I came with friends but think this would be such a romantic date night. it is outside so dress warm depending on temps. the price was 39.95 a person but if you are budgeting after 9pm it's half price. Also parking is kinda a pain so if you give yourself time or try uber. they also had nice spaces to make s'mores and have themed cocktails

Ask the Community - Atlanta Botanical Garden

For Christmas Night Lights, is it better to buy tickets at entrance? And if so, what time is reccomandable to arrive there? Wanted to ask because it is my first time at this location, thank you!

It's better to buy the tickets online and arrive at the earliest time that is offered each day. Weekend nights are obviously busier. Arrive 30 minutes I'm before your designated time to ensure that you have time to park in N their garage. Atlanta… Read more

    Where do we park?

If it's my first time visiting the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, approximately how long should I expect to be there if I'm touring the entire garden?

    Without rushing, 3-4 hours.

Is it a general admission ticket to do cocktails in the garden?

    Yes

Can you bring in a bag?

    Yes

Would it be better to buy tickets online or in person at the venue? Which is cheaper?

The prices are the same online and in person. The only difference is there's a 3.00 transaction fee online. I would consider buying online to prevent standing in long lines. If you're lucky enough, try Groupon, they may have a discount.

    Can you buy tickets online?

Yes. However sometimes their website crashes!

    Is there a fee?

    Adult - $21.95 Child ages 3-12 - $18.95 Child under 3 - Free

Can you bring in outside drinks?

No but i THINK water is ok

How long does it take to leisurely get through the whole garden?

I usually go with my elderly mother in law and spend 2-3 hours there. Some of that is just sitting and enjoying for a moment...especially the orchids.

Am I able to walk through all things with a double stroller (bob duallie) or should I leave the stroller at home?

I would bring the stroller because there is a lot of walking and if the kids get restless it'll be easier for you. The paths are wide enough and everything is stroller accessible because it has to be ADA compliant.

Is there lots of shade throughout the garden?

Yes especially near the front of the park around the statue of the frog

With weak or no cellular signal or Wi-Fi available within the gardens, visitors can pay full attention on admiring the beauty of nature. The gardens occupies total of 376 acres, featuring over 250 acres of landscaped gardens divided into several distinct sections: the Japanese Gardens, the Monet Waterlily Gardens, the Daffodil Gardens, and the Manor Gardens. The Japanese Gardens occupy a central position within the estate, covering 40 acres and featuring streams, ponds, miniature islands, small bridges, and Japanese maples. As one strolls through this section, one can deeply contemplate the core tenets of Japanese aesthetics: *Mono no aware* (物の哀れ the pathos of things), *Wabi-sabi* (侘寂 Wabi-austere beauty and sabi -rustic patina or beauty in aging), and *Yūgen* (幽玄 profound and mysterious grace and subtleness rather than obvious beauty. mystery). *Mono no aware* is certainly palpable here; the seasonal colors are vivid, yet most of the tulips have already faded. However, visitors do not see the withered blooms, as they are swiftly cleared away. This practice is, in fact, an authentic element of Japanese aesthetics--one that does not seek to deliberately pander to visitors. After all, imperfection and impermanence inevitably evoke a sense of melancholy, which lies at the very heart of Japanese aesthetic philosophy. As for *Wabi-sabi* and *Yūgen*, they are subtly woven into every detail of the landscape, inseparable from the whole. I could sense the garden's inherent simplicity and minimalism--its use of "negative space" and evocative atmosphere--such as the circular stone steps leading into the lake, only to come to an abrupt stop. Is it perhaps an example of the essence of sudden enlightenment found in Buddhist philosophy? Throughout the gardens, various Japanese-style shrines and stone lanterns are scattered everywhere, exuding that distinct aura of ethereal elegance and profound tranquility characteristic of traditional Japanese gardens. The floral plantings are meticulously designed to rotate with the changing seasons: spring brings a display of tulips and daffodils; summer features water lilies--specifically in the "Monet Water Lily Garden," which boasts 140 varieties of lilies and a replica of Monet's bridge; and autumn offers a vibrant tapestry of colorful foliage alongside sweeping fields of Sulfur Cosmos wildflowers. I visited the Butchart Gardens in Victoria over 30 years ago--a truly stunning garden that, at the time, was awash with tulips. In terms of sheer size, Gibbs Gardens is more than six times larger than Butchart Gardens.

Somehow the hype around this newest exhibit has been low, and as a result, it wasn't crowded at all on a Wednesday night when we arrived right at dusk. In fact, you could have walked right up and purchased tickets without even waiting in line. However, online/advance purchase tickets are available. While $20+/person is not exactly cheap for a stroll through a park, the lights are truly works of art, and it is is easily possible to spend several hours being mesmerized by the displays. There are tons of benches, chairs, and swings overlooking the lights or the impressive midtown skyline view, and there are several cash bars pouring wine and beer. They give you plenty of encouragement and opportunity to hang for a while. In fact, you'd be missing out if you didn't take your time to be still and ponder some of the larger installations, as they have intricacies, moving parts, and blinking orbs that you would miss if you didn't drop your pace below a slow stroll. My favorite installation of the six was definitely the "Forest of Light" which is located under the canopy walk and has more than 30,000 flower-like stems of light covering the forest floor. It's absolutely breathtaking. This special exhibition has me seriously contemplating a Garden membership. Don't miss this display!

He ended up being right though as not only was he the parking attendant but then changed to the person who opened the doors. So pack your patience when it comes to parking and not being let in at your reservation time (even in the rain). Once we were checked in and seated our mimosas did come right out.....and they kept them flowing for the stated hour.....however after 10 or so, I was like it's just mostly orange/mango juice. If we hadn't pregamed before I wouldn't have felt any buzz. The food was all really GOOD although the same parking attendant guy had put on an apron so he seemed to be an owner of some sorts.....let us know from jump that its an event experience and not a restaurant so although the flavor and presentation of the food is good don't expect it to come out piping hot as they are serving it buffet style groups.....if you don't get something or want more you can ask. Prior to this we were given kale salad, a fruit tray, crab salad, crab cakes (crab balls) and sweet potato corn muffin bites, whole shrimp with shell. The kale salad was the show stopper 10/10. As stated all food was served lukewarm or cold.....which for some items this is fine. The amount of food given for price was worth it, just wish the temp was better on hot items.
