We were ready to do it day 3, but an angel of a nurse they had come out that day calmed us down. Unfortunately, that was short-lived. The lack of care, communication, compassion, and respect Compassus has shown our family is inexcusable, especially given that it's end of life care and is supposed to help and make it easier for the one on hospice and their caregivers/family! The office was awful. Getting a nurse out was impossible. Getting a hospital bed was difficult. Meds weren't ordered when they should have been. It's hard enough to care for a loved one on hospice, and the hospice company should not be making that care more difficult in the time of need. The only bright spot in our experience were the 2 Aides we had, the social workers, and the one nurse on day 3, other than that, the experience was less than ideal. The lack of care we received is disappointing and we highly DO NOT RECOMMEND OhioHealth at Home - Compassus Hospice to anyone at all. Official complaints are being made as well.

Although we are only 3 hours away, we realized during that visit, three hours was way too far to effectively take care of Mom and Dad. Mom has always taken care of everything for Dad. My father has Parkinson's disease. It wasn't until this last visit that my husband and I could clearly see just how badly an extra set of hands was needed for my father's care. We interviewed three Home Health Agencies and without a shadow of a doubt, the entire family chose Assisting Hands. Not only were they competitive from a price standpoint, they were one of the few companies with the credentials we were looking for. We even met the caregivers who would be working with mom and dad before we had to leave to head home! I talk to Linda (Mom and Dad's Caregiver) nearly every night and she feels like a member of our family. I haven't seen Mom and Dad this happy in a very long time. Linda, Mom and Dad, go on outings, the house looks great, mom and dad are well taken care of and my husband and I are actually sleeping at night without worry! I love Assisting Hands and we have sent everyone we know struggling with similar situations to Assisting Hands!

My parents were excited for us and the new possibilities our my career decision could give my family, but they were in denial about how much care my wife and I were providing by living a block away. Dad suffered a stroke in 2010 and his physical condition had really limited the things he could do. Mom never had a driver's license so my wife took them everywhere during the day and in the evenings, I was responsible for transportation. We never minded caring for them; it became second nature for all of us. I saw a commercial for Assisting Hands Home Care and it felt like the commercial and their services were reaching straight out to us! It was as through the stars were aligned and I was meant to see that on TV. It was on a Saturday but I called the number. I couldn't believe, I actually got a live person who had the ability to come out within a few hours of the call and coordinate a complete plan with all of us. The owner even called me herself later that evening and we talked for almost an hour. We had two weeks to get into temporary housing for my new job yet we had everything figured out within 24 hours. Mom and dad were somewhat resistant but after meeting their caregiver, it was like this was just the way things were meant to be. Although we are further away, wither my wife or myself manages to come up one weekend a month to stay with my parents. They look better than when we were taking care of most of their needs. Although we didn't know it at the time, I think the stress and large responsibility weighed on all of us when it was my wife and I as the sole care takers and in turn, my parents had so much guilt but knew deep down then needed us. Assisting Hands has given us all peace of mind and comfort in their services! I love the company, love what they do and would recommend their services to anyone who needs the help!

Absolutely the worse Home Health Care Agency I have ever encountered. Need I say more? My wife…read morehas quite a few doctors appointments and, I am her sole caregiver, which keeps me extremely busy. People working for Alternate Solutions acted like we did not have a life outside of them. If you don't, they may be the agency for you. I would get calls from the nurse stating, "I am scheduled to come out tomorrow between 11 and 1". I asked who made that appointment, because no one ever contacted me. The nurse got an attitude and told me, "well I don't see anyone else scheduled to come out between those times. I will just call before I come." And, then she just very rudely hung up. If you have the patience to deal with that mess, then this just might be the agency for you. In all fairness, the OT was nice and did a fairly decent job. If you decide to use this agency, you just have to pray you get the better therapist of their workforce. The home health aide came out once and half bathed my wife in about 10 minutes and then wanted me to sign she had done her job and she left. Needless to say, I had to finish bathing my wife and the home health aide has not been back since. I will NEVER use this agency again!!!!

The trusth is, I was so concerned with viaquest Im hoping my review helps someone in the future. Started going to viaquest a year ago for chronic pain. Where to begin. My therapist quit. Had never been to a place where my docotor just left. I made the doctor who perscribes me medicine to promise not to do the same thing, half joking, but he left as well, no notice, just moved to another state without telling his patients. Last docotr did not know my name or care. Most concerning part...twice theyre receptionist called me and left apointment times on my voicemail. Both times, I show up at the doctors office at the times she said (granted my apointments are three months in between, so I assume Ill just take her word for it). Show up at 730 like the voicemail reminded me, but my apointment was at 630. I missed my apointment twice beacuse of this...and the when I brought this up, the receptionist aka office manager (who was perfectly nice), automatically responded by saying "do you just want me to discontinue your services?" Place makes me feel like Im in LALA land, but I dont have this much trouble figuring things out anywhere else...so it must be viaquest. Luckily, I have been waiting to see another physician for months, and see him today. Best to avoid, way too much chaos for someone to be handeling your precious health! Sorry viaquest. You have good intentions, but people dont deserve this.

The majority of care was done by family with the caregivers providing little more than babysitting services. Our mother experienced a debilitating fall and later a stroke. It was clear that she needed 7x24 professional care but we wanted to keep her safe in her home. We called TheKey and they showed up in force. Within hours, a representative came to assess our needs. An experienced and absolutely wonderful caregiver arrived only a couple hours later. The office staff is available 24hrs/day. Every staffing or care request we've made has been immediately and professionally fulfilled. The caregivers arrive ON TIME, EVERY TIME. No call-offs, no excuses, no drama. They treat our mom and her home with respect. I can't say enough good about the caregivers that we've had. They are professional, caring, patient and extremely well trained.

My mother-in-law has been cared for by Friendship Village for two plus years. She's had a lot of…read moreup and downs in her medical journey but overall she has declined because of age. I've seen the daily routine of care and you can see the aids are in experienced and seem careless at times leaving her for hours of unattended checks on her for bathroom visits. This leads to her room smelling of foul smells. This is the reason local family members for not wanting to see their grandmother. I'd give five stars to of activities department. Because of the one great RN named Dawn, she should get five stars. So, that's a total of two stars for the rest of the place. For the price we pay, this place should have better aids and provide more attention vice leaving them to exist in their rooms to sit in filth.

If my aging parents lived in this state, there's nothing that would give me greater happiness and peace of mind than seeing them retire to FVD. Imagine a super cool college campus with great people, fun activities and awesome food - but NO job, responsibilities or stress whatsoever. That's what retirement living at FVD is like. You move in young, healthy and spry in your 60s and basically have the time of your life. As you get older, additional care and support is there when you need it. The new expansion they're doing, while obviously causing a bit of construction noise/mess now, is going to be AMAZING once it's complete. The Health Center (nursing home) side is wonderful too, once the time comes for that level of care. The people are great - both residents and staff. I love this place and I'm so glad I get to work with the team and residents as part of my day job!
