SC Painting - Exterior painting

SC Painting

Sam and SC Painting were fantastic. They pressure washed and painted the exterior of my house,…read moreshed, porch, and back deck, and got it done in three days. The quality was fantastic, and the pricing was great as well. I'd highly recommend going with them for any future painting jobs.

The wallpaper was ancient, applied with what appeared to be "gorilla glue" directly onto the drywall. The walls were in horrible condition(perhaps this contributed to the former painter's decision to just not come back lol!) I discovered SC Painting and contacted Sam who IMMEDIATELY returned my call. He came to my home, assessed the situation & provided me a quote. The price for completing the project was, in my opinion, very reasonable considering the state of the walls and the amount of work. We decided on a day for him to begin and, guess what? He communicated with me and actually SHOWED UP at the appointed time. Sam removed the remaining wallpaper, patched, primed, painted and sealed my walls. He was very meticulous, paying attention to every flaw. I was amazed and very pleased with the outcome. My room is beautiful!!! I wish that I could give more than "5 stars." This young man is skilled, amicable and dependable. I will certainly call him for future projects. I know this review is lengthy. However, I wanted to express my satisfaction and also to raise awareness to the chances you take when hiring someone(btw, I did not find this person on "Yelp." Referred by a "friend.") You will be more than satisfied with Sam. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Many of the other reviews for this business are very positive, which suggests that others have had…read moregood experiences. However, that was not my experience. My intention is not to harm the business, but people should have honest reviews to make informed decisions when deciding who to bring into their home and give their money to. Additionally, the owner Antonio, should use this experience to learn from and do better. My project was estimated at 3-5 days for approximately 600 sqft, with the kitchen itself being only 6ft by 8ft, if that. The project involved painting kitchen/kitchen cabinets, living room, and hallway. Because of this, the kitchen was unusable and the main living space inaccessible for 10 days. During the project, I experienced multiple no-call/no-show days and very limited and untruthful communication about scheduling or progress. This meant I had to stay in a small bedroom for about 10 days while the work remained incomplete. Also other projects were prioritized during this time, with staff being sent elsewhere while my project remained unfinished, despite the small size of my space and the impact it had on my ability to use my home. My project start date was delayed one day to allow him to complete another project, which I was fine with, however I expected the same respect with my time. There were repeated statements about when the work would be completed that did not match the actual progress. After nine days, due to continued missed appointments and lack of communication, I requested that the cabinet doors be returned and that the project be considered finished. The doors were not returned when requested and it required additional time, unanswered calls, and inconsistent explanations before they were eventually brought back on day 10. At no point was it clearly communicated that the doors were not finished. Instead, messages suggested they were painted the weekend but prior and not delivered due to various reasons such as phone issues, a silent ringer, family obligations, or vehicle problems. On the day the doors were finally returned, delivery was agreed for 10:00 a.m. Messages earlier that morning indicated they were being loaded into the car around 9:20 a.m., but they were not delivered until after 4:00 p.m. Throughout the day there were multiple changing explanations for the delay. A photo sent mid-afternoon showed the cabinet doors being painted and wet. When the doors were finally delivered, they were tacky to the touch, the finish was incomplete with visible chips, drip marks, and surfaces that did not appear to have been properly prepared or sanded. Based on the timing and condition, it is clear they were just painted on this day. The cabinet bases/boxes were never painted and the living space paint was not completed either in these 10 days. My experience reflects a lack of communication, scheduling reliability, and accountability. Greater transparency and respect for clients' time, space, and financial commitments is needed.

RUN AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AS YOU CAN! To say that their customer service is terrible would…read morebe to imply that they actually have any customer service. They are argumentative and threatening toward customers for no reason. They don't care if you have concerns and will start yelling at you if you bring a concern to their attention. I had to hang up on the owner, Koleen, as she was screaming at me and would not listen to anything I was saying. We also had the pleasure of being yelled at and threatened by the other owner, Peter, as well. There is not enough time to detail all of the terrible stress they put us under. But, to provide one example (of MANY), as part of the $16,000 job they did for us, they quoted us for all new soft-close hinges for our cabinet doors. One hour before the installation, Peter sent my husband a text saying that the hinges he ordered were not going to work and he would credit us for the cost. Meanwhile, no one told us to save the old hinges and the workers left them strewn all over the place. Peter told us that he probably could not get new hinges that would work with our cabinets and, even if he did, it was going to cost a fortune. What happened to their original estimate? They are supposed to be the experts. The installation could not happen as planned because we were initially unable to locate all of the original hinges. So, they left the refinished cabinet doors while we went on a hunt for the hinges. Somehow, we managed to locate all of them. In the meantime, Peter was texting us telling us we needed to pay the ~$2,000 balance on our invoice that day (even though the job WAS NOT DONE), or they were going to put a lien on our home. His wife then emailed the invoice to us with a note in all capital letters with the same threat. When we didn't respond to either of these threats, Peter then texted my husband ordering him to call him before the end of the day as he didn't want the situation to escalate. They are the ones that escalated the situation by making these threats. We have had many, many contractors at our home for various repairs and have never, ever been treated so horribly. In fact, we've never even had a minor issue with anyone that we have hired. We are extremely reasonable people. Although the job was eventually completed, there were several areas where we had noted the paint needed to be touched up. They clearly did not care about any of these issues and we just paid the invoice to never have to deal with them again. We were extremely tired of being yelled at and threatened. The whole experience was truly unreal! I fully expect Peter and/or Koleen to comment on this because they LOVE to fight with their customers. Again, run as far away as you can from this pathetic excuse of a company.

Hired this company to paint my newly re-modeled bathrm, and the kitchen ceiling which included…read morepatching 4 holes from previous light fixtures. I have been in my home since 1974, and have had many painters come and go, pretty much know what to expect. They emailed me an extensive contract, which I signed...I even joked that I would send them a 5 page contract also... The kitchen ceiling is ok, however, not enough paint on the soffit...a clear line between the cut in and the soffit. Not good coverage at all. However the bathroom was done in 4 hrs./5hrs. or so...meaning none of the first coat had enough drying time...hence, the paint started blistering before the painter even left. Also my brand new pella window frame is a mess...it was smooth, and now it is a lumpy/bumpy mess... The painter took some pics of the problems before he left that day, and sent them to the owner. I waited for a call, it never came. So I figured they were not interested in re-doing the bathrm and cut their losses, and let it go for the $500 deposit. 3 weeks go by, no call, no email. crickets. The other day they called and did not leave a message. I also received an email that day, telling me I was past due on the balance owed. Now this is the really disturbing part...they said they had called numerous times to come out and fix the problem/NOT TRUE. They actually said I was lying about it. Then they said they would be sending it to collections/and put a lien on my house. I was appalled...It's in the contract they said...I am sure it is, they make sure they are covered for every possible event. Never have a skirted a bill etc. in my 75 yrs. And to threaten me on top of calling me a liar, well I have no words. I paid the balance, they forgave me $126, and the interest they said I owed...so, I would warn others here...not a company you would want to do business with. I ran my own successful business for 38 yrs...I know how it should go w/customers. To be treated this way, well it is shocking! BUYER BEWARE, if they treat old widows this way, well, u get the drift here.
