I was blown away by the giraffe exhibit. There is a little flock of flamingos that I could just stand and watch for hours, and the prairie dog exhibit is too cute for words. Go and see for yourself. Be aware they are not open on Mondays. This has caught me a number of times on Monday holidays (Labor Day, Memorial Day, etc.) when I had a day off work and was looking for something to do. Sorry, no zoo today! They are open every other day of the week. The zoo is open from 10-4 and this is plenty of time to see everything. There is food and a splash pad and a carousel and a train to ride. This is all fun, but for me a zoo is all about the animals. This little zoo does not disappoint.

The animals are well taken care of and the staff is always fun and knowledgeable. Our tour guide (I think her name was Sonora?) was very nice and went out of her way to make sure we got to spend time with all of the animals we wanted to see. Couple of tips. First off, spring for the private or semi-private tour. You have more freedoms to roam around the park and it's definitely worth the extra cost. Second, no matter how much animal food you get, you will wish you had more. The highlight of the tour is feeding the animals and you will not want to disappoint them! Third, they have added some new attractions in the last few years that look awesome but we didn't get a chance to do them. There's a kangaroo walkabout and a capybara experience, both looked really cool. Finally, they are offering a "painting" by the animals. You add food coloring to a canvas and the animals "paint" with their mouths while they eat. It was absolutely worth it!

You have to book online and choose a time slot that was still available. We chose an early time slot to make sure they both got their naps in. We arrived and you can tell they made a ton of updates since we were last here. We checked in and was recommended to order the sack of food and so glad we did! We had 4 adults and we went through the sack pretty fast! Cody was our tour guide and he was extremely nice and very knowledgeable! I highly recommend asking for him if you're doing a private tour. To say we had an amazing time would be an understatement. Feeding and seeing giraffes, bison, deer, cows, zebras, kangaroos, peacocks, llamas and so many more was such an axing experience. Upon arrival we were shocked to see he only had ONE blue eye and the other BROWN. We drove all the way from Texas!!! After looking back at the pictures she sent us, it's clear it was intentional the way she placed him in the photos. Love my boy dogs but will never buy from her again. For a small fee, you receive a photo as the sea lion is planting a big wet kiss on your cheek! Another highlight was the budgie area where you bought sticks of food and the parakeets (budgies) landed on you and ate from them. It's not for the faint of heart or anyone that's afraid of birds, lol. This is a fun place to visit with kids or anyone who appreciates birds and marine life. Beware: in the summer, there's a lot of walking outdoors and it can get quite hot. Make sure you wear your sunscreen and bring a neck fan!

We were unable to feed and/or pet the stingrays, there was only 5 spots for kissing sea lion that were no longer available, so for a family unable to plan in advance with changing schedules it was a bummer. The bird feeder stick took me by surprise because it looks disappointing, however it was sufficient to get some of the birds to land. The dolphin/sea lion show was pretty good, I would just appreciate maybe a screen with whatever the speaker was saying, it was hard to hear in that room with the echo. We also spent some time upstairs in the museum with Rob, who explained the swords and weapons displayed. It was very interesting and informative. We visited the cemetery as well. They have golf carts to rent if you have mobility issues or are too lazy to walk. We walked. This is a fine, historic property and something you should check out in Biloxi.

The cost of admission is $15 for adults and will take around 2 hours. They do a guided tour which last for 20 minutes which is a Mary talking about the house 20 minutes straight. For me, my attention span was low that day and everything went in and out of my ear. After that, you get to tour the grounds like the kitchen, guest quarters, etc which I enjoyed the most. The place is pretty big. Make sure when you head back to go to the 2nd floor as there are a lot of artifacts. It was worth my time going however.

You can tell that the staff are educated and care very much about the animals. It is all very clean and well-kept. It took us about 2 hours to sidle through and look at everything. It's a good outing for an afternoon. Part of the facility is outdoors, with exhibits for the beavers (They have beavers!! So cute!!), the dolphins, the otters, and the local gators and wildlife. They have a penguin exhibit that is in the works and coming soon. The rest is indoors in a nice building. You go up to the top floor and work your way down through the various exhibits and tanks. A big part is outside, so you should check the weather before you go and be prepared to deal with whatever. There is a public parking garage right next door, but we parked across the highway at Jones Park and walked over to the aquarium. There is a nice pedestrian skybridge over the highway that makes it easy and safe.
