The packers consisted of two women (no problem), one of whom was 30 weeks pregnant (again, no problem) and left every 30 minutes to go smoke (starting to be a problem). I'm willing to look the other way, fine. My family and I fly to Texas and 2 weeks from when they put our stuff on a truck (and WAY past the promised delivery window), we are still sitting on plastic lawn furniture in our house (now a BIG problem). When we call both George and North American Van Lines, they direct us to the other and say "I don't know what's going on with your shipment." Now we are upset. Finally, a customer service agent at North American levels with us and says that George doesn't have the capacity to haul your stuff to Texas and North American should NEVER have used them. Interesting coming from the company we hired. Anyway, we are on week 3 of our move, my son cries that he wants to move back to Pittsburgh (because he at least had a bed there) and we are still fighting with them to find a driver to move our stuff. I'm looking into flights to go pick my stuff up myself and drive it to Texas. PLEASE AVOID GEORGE MOVING AND STORAGE and NORTH AMERICAN VAN LINES at ALL COSTS. No family should have to go through what we have.

In that time, he told me he wouldn't send anyone because (he claimed) I was unwilling to pay the 4h minimum despite my having arranged with the salesperson that I would. I only needed a mattress moved and was willing to pay the full amount, but went ahead and figured it out myself when by 8:50, no one was there and I needed to leave my house to get dinner. Mike then refused to get the mover a ride home -- he didn't have a car -- so I gave the poor guy a ride back his house. I was going to pay for a 2 person team, and was sent one person three hours past the end of their arrival window, by a manager who tried to refuse me service. I'll be trying to get my deposit back.

However, the movers were an hour late and showed up with an extra person than I was not originally quoted. Which is fine, if it doesn't change my quote, but what I was charged ended up being expodentially higher than what I anticipated based on the quote. Especially since I moved a majority of my items before they arrived. I had most of the items already ready and took apart and put together my bed itself. I even assisted helping move what I had left by loading the smaller items in my car. I moved most of the items before they even arrived so they had really only had the heavy/bigger items that I couldn't take myself. There were also 30 minutes I couldn't even find the movers, even after calling them. I had moved 6 minutes down the road but it took them over 30 minutes to arrive. I had driven back, double checked they got everything, locked everything up, came back to the new place, and still waited another 15 minutes. So they were off somewhere unknown to me. This also lowered my trust in their service. When I asked for an itemized receipt so I could double check how I was being charged, I never heard from them again. If you do decide to use this company, you should know that the quality is excellent because they take care in how your items are moved, their professionalism and communication is great but you may hear them complaining if items are heavy. I think the funniest comment I heard from them was "Everything is heavy Up in this Crib". I would recommend ensuring someone is there the entire time to ensure you track when they leave and when they arrive at the new location and have them itemize the receipt before sending you the bill. A vague receipt won't do to make sure you aren't overcharged.

They assured me they would be fully prepared and that everything would fit in their truck. On moving day, after the truck was nearly full, they told me that several of my belongings--including a solid wood antique dining table and a bookshelf--wouldn't fit. They offered no solution at the time. After delivering the rest of my items in NC, I asked for a discount since they hadn't completed the move. They refused, but then offered to go back and pick up the remaining items, store them, and deliver them when they were next in the area. Over the next several months, I followed up repeatedly. They eventually offered to replace the table instead, but stopped responding when I proposed a reasonable replacement amount. I still have not received the undelivered items or any compensation. This company breached its written contract and has refused to resolve the issue. I've filed a complaint with the FMCSA and am sharing my experience publicly so others can make informed decisions.

The movers in Columbus turned out to be a nightmare, but 'Them Movers' in Cleveland were fantastic. The movers called the morning of the move to let us know that they could arrive 30 mins earlier if we were ready, which we weren't due to our scheduled time to pick up the truck. They said "no problem" and found something else to do until we got back. When the 2 gentlemen arrived (we initially booked 3) they let us know that the 3rd employee had called off, but in case they went over the 3 hours we booked, we would not be charged extra. After inspecting the moving load they let us know that they'd be able to handle it all in sooner than the 3 hours, so I was able to call the owner and he agreed that I should go ahead and change the job on the moving website to a 2 man job since they wouldn't be going over the 3 hours. I appreciated that they cared about saving me money, and everyone was very apologetic about the inconvenience. The 2 movers did a great job and they were done in just over 2 hours. The guys were really friendly in chatting with us as they worked, and they were very careful with getting everything packed up safely and efficiently. I was extremely satisfied with the job that they did, ancompany!d would definitely recommend this moving company to anyone in the Northeast Ohio area. I only wish I'd heard of them before so I could have used them in previous moves.
