We got together with a large group of friends to enjoy an afternoon at the water park. Since we were a group of 10, we qualified for a pass that got us in for $5.50/person. My toddler granddaughters, aged 1 and 2, were free. I was really impressed when we were handed one sample sized bottle of zinc oxide sunscreen per person at the gate. I was even more impressed when I passed thru the gates and saw the sunscreen station that was set up for all guests to reapply, as needed. Great idea and fantastic perk. I'm a serious germ phobe and locker rooms at public pools and water parks typically give me serious anxiety. But I have to say, the womens locker room was very well kept and there was absolutely no standing water, anywhere. I was even more grateful for the cleanliness since I had 2 toddler in tow. There was plenty of room for me to lay a towel down over the double row of benches to diaper and dress my little ones without being a space hog and getting in others way. Everyone in our large group really enjoyed the lazy river. It's a nice size, with a section that you can choose to either take a path under sprinklers or avoid it all together. There seemed to be a few places where you could get in and out, but most of us just used the main entrance/exit. I didn't get to try out the slides, since I had 2 toddlers with me. But my teenager obviously enjoyed them and rode the slides with his buddies for most of our visit. When he tired of slides and the lazy river, he got himself a burger from the snack stand and said it was good. If I were to complain about anything, it would be a few issues with the "kiddie" area. First, there is not one single spot in the play gym that you can stand without being sprayed with water. It kept my granddaughters and I from getting in it more than once. It's impossible to see where you're even going and not enjoyable, at all. My granddaughters both panicked when I walked them thru it. I noticed during our entire visit that not many children really played on it, mostly around it. The side of the pool with the walk-in entrance is also lined with orange cones that are mega toddler attractors...which makes the marching lifeguard constantly scold them to stop, no matter how much their parents are clearly trying to deter them. The parents of the other children that my granddaughters made friends with also stopped even trying to get their children to leave them alone because the lifeguards clearly were going to continue to bark at them to stop playing with them, no matter how much their caregivers were clearly trying to get them to leave them alone. The area to the side that's set up more for toddlers was pretty cool. It's a neat cause/effect dam type system. If we ever go back, I would bring some toys for the kids to play with in it. read more

Kiosk to order food with a card really what a ridiculous mess and longer wait lines that will cause while the staff just stands around and talks.. was told 30 minutes to get pizza you open at 11:00 pizza should be ready at 11:00. no clocks, no music and only 1 bottle of sunscreen . So many changes that I am sure only benefits your bottom line! So disappointed!! This has been my favorite place for years. I no longer have a desire to return! Do better Freedom Springs! read more

First time visiting Freedom Springs - it's conveniently located in Freedom Park and within walking distance of my house. I checked pool passes out from the library, because admission is kind of steep & I had out of town guests. $18 for a non-resident child (same price as an adult) seems pretty high to me. Staff were confused by the pool passes. They finally figured out how they worked and we got in. I didn't find the staff to be particularly friendly. Many of the lifeguards were rude to people and just an overall unfriendly tone. The waterpark and pool area itself is quite nice! Loved the water slides and lazy river. I will return to use those again. read more

This place is very fun place to go the snacks are delicious and slides are great although the water is very cold.

I don't even know where to begin. We rented a Cabana for a full day for a day of fun. The cabana's are nasty. Each cushion had mold and some bird poo. The curtains was super nasty filled with mold and all kinds of filth. Also, if you was hoping to rent one for more privacy then this isn't it. They're located literally on top of each other and not able to close to curtains. We ordered one whole pizza, pretzels, nachos. Pizzas are premade and was cold. The food was either cold or hard. The girl working the food stand was beyond rude. When we asked her a question she literally didn't respond, but pointed. Outside residents pay 18, but if military you pay 7. That discount only applys to the vet and not the family members. People allowed in the pool with street clothes was wild! I will say the lifeguards was on top of it!! They kept plenty around at all times. Waterpark is pretty small with few slides and the lazy pool is really small as well. We was really hoping to have a great first experience, but sadly didn't happen. read more

I went today, the sign said $8 for Seniors but that is only for Greenwood residents. It is $15 for non residents. I feel that is way too high for Seniors and considering that the park is the smallest Lazy River, again too high. Today the River was full of dead bugs, and appears that they had not cleaned the bugs out. The staff was rude and not very nice. This is the only public pool in Greenwood. I feel that they should not be priced as high as they are. They should only charge a couple dollars more for non-residents not almost twice as much. read more

My mom, brother, and myself went yesterday (Saturday) and had so much fun. Everyone was so friendly and the water slides were a blast. They keep everything very clean. I also will say the supervisor lifeguard, Tanner went above and beyond to make sure I was okay (my eyes had a reaction to the chlorine) and that kind of care for guests means a lot to me so I wanted to note it. read more

What a great water park!!! The grounds are so clean, friendly staff, and so many options to check out! Slides, diving boards, splash pad areas, lazy river, and a play ground on the outside. Lots of space for lots of chairs. They offer daily passes, season passes, and splash passes-- to fit all of your family's needs. Lockers, restrooms, showers, and sunscreen pump stations are all offered on location. They also have a confession stand offering food and drinks! Great place to spend a summer day! read more

Freedom Park is good for a fun time during a cool or cloudy day, but holy moly if it's a hot and sunny day, because there is zero shade here. (And by "zero" I mean none, nada, nothing. Not even a tree under which to seek relief.) So you're left standing there, sweating in the sun, cajoling your kid to hurry up and go down the hot-as-lava slide so that you can get the heck out of there and go somewhere cooler. Kids will love it during any type of weather, though, as there are bridges to traverse, swings to swing on, ladders to climb, rock walls to conquer ... all kinds of fun kid things. There is also a free-standing restroom and walking/running path that maneuvers around the park. Freedom Park is right outside of the Freedom Springs Greenwood Aquatics Park, so there are lots of entertaining things to do around here. read more

Good water park, there are lockers to put your stuff in and the key they give you is waterproof so you can always keep it on you. The lazy river is fun, but being in a tube is required. The website says there are diving boards but there were none. Not much to do besides the lazy river and the slides if you are a teenager since you wouldn't go in the toddler section. The concessions stand closed 30 mins before the park closed at 8:00 pm so I never got to try anything since I got there at 6:00 and was hoping to eat near the end before we left. (I prefer later swimming and I don't like sunscreen.) I will be coming back again sometime and hopefully I'll get to try the food, but I'm not sure if it's actual food or just ice cream, because there were pictures up that had drumsticks and ice cream on a stick. read more

Heads up, especially on a warm day - the parking lot here is absolutely dreadful. Every lane dead ends so if you don't find a spot, you have to back up into the two people who followed you down that lane because there's no hope of turning around since everyone and their brother made their own parking spots as well. If you're lucky enough to find a place and don't leave in frustration as we almost did, it does get better. The place is clean, but it is full of young lifeguards who are on a bit of a power trip. Now don't get me wrong, I know they have a tough job that I want nothing to do with in keeping the tiny children -- and adults for that matter -- alive. But at the same time, there's no need to scream at kids who legitimately don't know that they can't stand still for 5 seconds in a certain area that doesn't have a "no standing" sign. Give the kids a break. Speaking of breaks, they do have a period of time where they clear everyone out of the water. This isn't clearly communicated and I honestly don't know how often it is or when it is, and I don't recall them announcing it. I just know that when we got our stuff to ready to go, everyone else followed suit. We didn't stick around to see how long the break was, but it must have been in excess of 30 minutes. Don't plan on having a place to sit, there aren't nearly enough chairs for the amount of people that are there. Just pray that you're lucky enough to walk by someone as they're leaving. This would be fine if the lockers worked, but there isn't any clear instruction on how to use them (I would have been afraid to admit this, but we weren't the only ones confused so if we just aren't smart enough at least we aren't alone) and many of them were broken. That being said, once you're in the water there seems to be plenty to do. We have a 1-year-old and he was pretty happy with the little splash pad and the slightly larger play area, but it had one of those big buckets that dumped on everyone every few minutes and he's not quite ready to withstand gallons upon gallons of water being dumped on his head, so we opted to stay away from there for the most part. Very questionable design though to have that RIGHT next to the little kids's splash pad. I think we'll probably enjoy this more as our little guy grows up, but it's worth a try if you're in the area. But if you're not into crowds, this may not be for you. read more

Yesterday (Memorial Day) was our first time at Freedom. We got there 10 minutes after they opened. The line was all the way down the sidewalk & into the grass. The line was moving rather quickly then it suddenly came to a complete stop. About 10-15 minutes of waiting w/o movement, a manager came out to apologize for the delay. She then explains the issue & offers everyone in line cups of ice water. I've never had a business do that. I thought that was very sweet & thoughtful. Even though it was busy & packed with people, it never felt overly congested. They had chairs lined up all around the pools. Which was more than any other pool I've been to. Heck, I even seen a lifeguard carrying a chair for a guest. The employees went above & beyond for the guests. My nephew dropped his freshly bought drink & a lifeguard went and got him another one for free. Needless to say, I was very impressed with the staff & will definitely be back. They've added more cleanup stations and more trash cans, and are in the process of putting in what looks like a double gate, which will be much better than the entrance they currently have. It's still free for now, but rumor is that it won't be for long...so I guess we'll see. Personally, I wouldn't mind knowing that the other dogs that are there are up on their shots, right now anyone can come in, and if it switches to a pay park, people will have to show proof of good medical care. We've only had a couple of issues with aggressive dogs, mostly huskies for some reason. Mostly the regulars all know each other, if not by name then by sight or by the dog's name. Be warned that if there has been any rain or snow in the past couple of days that it will be muddy and that there are a couple of very large puddles that tend to stick around for a long time, so waterproof boots are a good idea and baths may be needed after a visit. read more

Way overpopulated.. obviously not big enough to accommodate all residents. I will NOT come again or ever due to these reasons with the heat. I work close by and love to come here to get some steps in during lunch (yay FitBit Zip!). Very large park with beautifully kept picnic areas, basketball and tennis courts, two jungle gyms, one much larger than the other (AND IF THERE ARE NO KIDS I TOTALLY GO PLAY #NOSHAME!). The walking path winds around the hill and under a bridge but very nice to not have to walk around in circles. The dog park looks promising, but need to bring my pooch to see what she thinks. Park: 4/5 - Only thing I wish it had were more trees or just more park-sy feel. It's rather barren and more seating so I can walk out long on the path and sit some where along the path for lunch. read more

A hot Saturday in July: The fact that this water park closed everything for a 20-minute break (for the lifeguards?) and made everyone get out of the water is ridiculous. Way too long and for no apparent reason. Then, less than 30 minutes later, a child was injured from running with a double tube on the sidewalk, they made everyone get out of every pool and stand around and gawk. The child's pool and main pool were nowhere near the injured child and should have been allowed to remain open. And then, they couldn't let visitors back into the water until all lifeguards were in position and we had to wait extra time for that! Where did the lifeguards go? The tubes are not allocated to the lazy river and the slides separately, making people hoard tubes. It was a very long wait to even get a tube. And no help or crowd control from the employees. I never saw a manager. The capacity of 1500 guests seems to be way too high for the amount of space they have. There was not an inch of space in the main pool and no way could an adult swim a lap. Don't go on a hot weekend day! read more

I gave a 3 star because it's NOT SAFE and way to expensive to get in and way to crowded.. They bus a bunch of people in everyday. There is a lot better water parks and cheaper. And they try and force you to pay high prices on food also and it has restaurant logo but food tastes nothing like restaurant they claim it is. And pizza was burnt. I live super close but I'm not going back here again!!! I feel it's not safe here way to many tubes can't see drowning child under tubes. And they let tubes stay in lazy river with no one on them..Not good at all. It hasn't happened yet but it's a matter of time. I know a child that did drowned under a blow up raft. Not safe at all. A child did almost drowned when I was there !!! If it hadn't been for lifeguard Super Sam that child would of been dead!!! This place is at mercy of lifeguards.... I feel like they try and make you pay their high prices on food. You can't bring food or drinks in to swimming pool area. Really but you want to charge 7.00 for a hot dog band chips or 5.00 for a chicken sandwich that's being forced. How can a parent afford that with a lot of kids. That's just wrong. Parents out smart them bring your cooler with ice and put drinks and stuff for lunches and snacks than have a designated time to go out and eat lunch. I did that at a different pool when my child was little and I had neighbors kids with us. I found a picnic table and we spread everything out. And she is 26 and remembers and talks about how fun the picnic was everyday at the pool.now she does same with her daughter. I will say this they have a life guard who deserves a medal he was lighting fast and save a kids life yesterday. His name was SAM. Little boy fell off his tube in lazy river all these adults around no one noticed he came across from other side like super man and had the kid pulled out . All the adults freaked out cuz no one saw the child under water all we saw was a empty tube. And the child's parents were no where to be found.. really parents your children are your responsibility not the life guards or anyone else's.this kids was probably 4 and his buddy 5 years old ... watch your kids to a water park or pool is not your babysitter.....thank God for SAM...The sad part is they do provide free use of life jackets and some parents are to lazy to walk right over and get them and put them on the kids.when my kids would argue they didn't want to wear it,I would tell them it's simple you put it on or you go home your choice. Remember your the parents and they are the child !!! You set the rules not them!!!!!! I have to agree with other reviews this park is way over priced cheaper and better water parks like in Plainfield it's even in doors so kids don't get burnt. Dogs and their owners are apparently no longer welcome unless you're a part of their exclusive club. New for 2016, the dog park is now locked behind a key fob system. There are no signs saying where or how to get a key, we had to look up online how to get in. You can't even get a key at the park ... it's "administered" through the city community center, which also requires a membership. Apparently it now costs $45 a year to take your dog play in a public park ... and it's not like it's any good to begin with. It drains poorly so when it rains there's deep mud pits everywhere. There's no water stations and the grass is maintained whenever they get around to it. This is Greenwood, Indiana ... not some private gated community in Hilton Head. Way to go "community center" for excluding residents from the community. read more

The location of the infamous and short lived greenwood water park. No longer an option, its a lot of open land with a small portion being utilized. Sure , the play ground is good and the Hill is awesome for sledding in the wintertime and it has good, paved trails to run and bike, but has so much more potential than what it is. The park is ok. My husband and I brought our two boys, ages 1 and 4 on a Sunday. It was crazy busy (to be expected). We waited about 30 minutes to get in. I read online you could not bring in food or drinks but people were sitting with full coolers. Early in the day we were able to get tubes for the lazy river. After 2, forget it. The lifeguards were attentive, but kept getting on people for not having tubes, but teenagers were rough housing and pushing others through the river. The food stand is a joke and its ridiculous to pay those prices for bad food. During the break people were told they had to keep their body out of the water, but could keep their feet on the tubes. RIDICULOUS. Kids were splashing each other, etc. For a full day spent at the park, it was ok. It's definitely not for short trips, way too expensive. read more

Great pool and slides for whole family! Splash cards are the way to go especially when trips are infrequent, season passes seem to be wasted at least for our family. Only drawback is they need more shade areas. Plenty of water access to help keep you hydrated but they could do with 2 shade areas by the grassy areas. We went to Freedom Springs for a birthday party today and had a blast! My kids were able to choose from a variety of activities and it wasn't too crowded. All of the staff that I came in contact with were polite and willing to take the few extra seconds to respond to my son asking them questions about everything. read more

Great place for the kids that enjoy diving boards and 13 feet deep water. Able to dive and do many things that some parks don't allow.

I am extremely disappointed in Freedom Springs! Your customer service is deplorable. You yell at everyone for everything and when something really needs to be taken care of you completely overlook it! My children are walking away in tears because your staff is extremely rude. GREAT playset for older kids. With the play area, I wouldn't recommend for kids under 3 yrs old.

The park is coming along, pool will be opening soon in May. They need water fountain for kids and dogs.

We liked the park. There was a situation in the little kid pool that required half the park being shut down while we were there (water contamination)... but that's life. The part that bothers me is that we were there 3 weeks ago, and today $49.50 was taken out of my checking account. How is it that my husband used his debit card three weeks ago, and Greenwood Parks & Rec is just now taking our money? Uncool. read more

DOG OWNERS BEWARE!!!! SHARP OBJECT LOCATED INSIDE OF FENCED IN AREA! My fiancee and I took our dogs to freedom park on April 19, 2016. After an hour or so, we noticed that one of our dogs started limping really bad and whining. We went over to investigate the issue. Once looking at his paws, we noticed that there were CHUNKS of his paw missing! We took him to our vet and they said that it most likely came from some sort of sharped object that came in contact with his paw while he was running around. my fiancee do not want this to happen to any other doggies out there. My 11-year-old had fun here, but there wasn't a whole lot to do. She was ready to go after 90 minutes or so. Lots of waiting in line! I took my 3-year-old nephew last summer and he HATED the little kids area. It was impossible for him to play without ice-cold water splashing in his face the whole time. He refused to go down the slide because there was a sprayer right at face level when he sat to slide down. He isn't particularly timid and loves to play in water, but the water was just too cold (even though it was a hot day) and there was too much in his face the whole time. read more

I live nearby and visit the park a couple of times a week. Nice walking trails, tennis courts, basketball courts, children's playgrounds, and a fenced dog park. It will have more shade as the trees get older, but all in all a very nice park. read more
