Honestly it's clean, fun, and extremely safe with lifeguards everywhere. My only downside was that when my partner and I went to use the restroom he walked out before I did and was waiting for me. Well he overheard a conversation between the girl sitting by the doors to check coolers and some guy she knew (he was being super loud while talking) and he was making racist comments towards Hispanics and she was agreeing with him but trying also not to say anything or talking really quietly (I'm assuming because she was at work) it happened today around 11 it was just very upsetting because I'm Hispanic and she seemed very friendly at first when she spoke to me to check our cooler and even smiled towards us when we were walking from the restrooms back outside. Park is great overall just that one thing that makes me probably not want to go back again. I get people have different opinions but there's a time and a place for things. read more

We really enjoyed our time at Splash island. We liked the lazy river (wish they had more double tubes), lots of chairs, reasonably priced concessions, friendly staff, fun kids splash area. The admission price was a little high IMO for children - think it would be nice if they had an under 5 lower price, but over all it was worth it. read more

Honestly, I have no qualms about splash island! It's just a fun place to be! I visited several times but on this specific visit it was their 20th anniversary and there were other fun activities happening. That's the best part is the many activities! My granddaughters were really looking forward to going swimming over the weekend. I decided to go to an indoor waterpark closer to home, and thought Splash Island would be a good choice. I couldn't find prices online, but wasn't to worried about it. However, I was completely shocked when I was charged $37 for myself, my teen son and 2 toddlers. I was just at the Monon in Carmel a few weeks ago and paid $11 for myself and the 2 girls. And the Monon is MUCH nicer. They request that with young children, you remain within an arms length. Because I had 2 toddlers, she said my teen son would need an adult bracelet "to help me." While I do indeed stay close with my toddler granddaughters, I was almost the only adult doing so. It's definitely not something that's enforced. The family rooms were clean and appreciated. There are lockers located in each one, without locks. We did not use them tho, not having a lock and not wanting to chance having to stand in the hallway for who knows how long, waiting for a specific room with our things inside. My only complaints about the family bathroom is there were no liners for the changing table and the sink counter corner is very sharp and the perfect height to do serious damage to the heads of excited 2 and 3 year olds. My 2 year old granddaughter hit her head so many times in the short period we were in there that I was ready to cry in frustration, right along with her. The pool water and area is quite warm. It felt nice and you don't get cold getting out and moving around. All life guards are teenagers. While the ones we interacted with were very nice, they are clearly fearful of addressing issues with swimmers. We kept struggling with a group of older boys, way to big to be playing in the kiddie area, who kept racing onto the play equipment, shoving and pushing and dog piling down the slide. They didn't care who they pushed, shoved or knocked over and thought it hilarious when they knocked over small children. While the lifeguard was visibly frustrated, she just kept making frustrated faces, shaking her head and looking around as if possibly looking for a parent and never said anything to them. I told them twice to stop pushing my granddaughters before a man got angry with them for knocking his little boy over and got nasty enough with them to scare them off. The life guard saw it all and never said a word. Definitely not worth the cost, and they charge you even more if you are truthful about not being a Plainfield resident. I admit I wished I had lied because the cost was ridiculous for what we experienced and they don't check ID anyways. read more

I attempted multiple times to secure a cabana on the website, but apparently it wasn't working. So the next day we stood in the ticket line for 30min, when I inquired about renting a cabana I was told I had to speak to someone in a 'blue polo shirt' and I was directed to a table. When I got to the front of that line, I was told it was only 'check in' for the cabanas and to rent one I had to go to the other side of the complex to rent it and then go back to the table to check in. Management of Splash Island, you need to streamline your processes and stop irritating customers. Oh, and apparently you need to re-educate your staff about the 25% off that cabana renters get at the snack stand because we didn't get our discount nor were we given the courtesy of a refund. Nice outdoor pool as a part of the Plainfield Parks and Recreation facility. Membership to the pool is included in an annual Rec membership, which is nice! As an adult with no kids, I use the pool to lap swim (there are 3 designated lap swim only lanes) and be lazy in the lazy river. Though it does it get hectic at time, I feel that the life guards do their best to control crowds. There was a shortage of tubes this season, which was a lazy river bummer. On the weekends the pool would be busy, but I never had trouble finding a chair. There is adequate parking in the lot as well as bike racks. I wish their hours were longer but I absolutely understand the staffing issues with school back in session. Staff does a good job updating the Facebook page with any hour changes or closures! read more

My daughter and family which includes a 3 1/2 year old grandson are in town. We visited this water park for the first time. It is a beautiful property clean and well maintained. Very organized pool areas that are easily accessed between the pool areas. Lifeguards are Eagle eyed watching. It felt very secure. Nice seating areas and snack bar. What a super fun place to be on a hot summer day! I love that there was something for everyone ! For us, it was a about a 30 min drive which wasn't terrible at all. For 2 adults and 3 kids we paid 52.00. There was plenty of lounging areas and benches. Parking wasn't hectic and their were plenty of spaces!(BIG PLUS) I really loved seeing so many lifeguards everywhere. The lazy river(not pictured) was my favorite today. I also really loved being able to snag life jackets for the not so sure/hesitant swimmers. The majority of the benches were underneath trees so you always caught a cool breeze while sitting. The prices at the snack shack were also very reasonable. All the pools were different depths so people could really swim /splash at their own comfort level and I really liked that . This is an indoor/outdoor park but we spent all of our time outside (as we should) I also really liked that children ages 8 and under wore a "within reach" arm band as well as their parents. I will definitely be paying this place another visit . I give it 4 stars because the hours online, their website and featured on Yelp were not correct. We visited today for their winter rec hours at the indoor aquatic center. Although Yelp listing says they are closed, you can check the website and they do have some winter hours. Overall 4/5 experience I think. Cost because we aren't from Plainfield was $11/adult and $10/kid. Fairly warm in the pool area. Us adults weren't cold but my skin and bones 6 year old was complaining of being cold on and off. We enjoyed the big slide (must be 4ft to ride), the lazy river, and the basketball net. We spent just over 2 hours here. A word of advice especially in the winter is bring snacks and drinks ! We carried in and are glad we did. No snack bar was open and the vending machines were nearly empty. We grabbed a table near the pool and could easily go back and forth to snack and swim. Only negatives were it could be a bit warmer, have a snack bar in winter, and we would have liked a regular open pool area in addition to all the fun activities. read more

We had a hard time finding a place to sit. They need more umbrella things so thee are more shady seats. We had a baby so we had to have seat in the shade. I really enjoy this place, despite having options closer to home. My favorite part is the diving board, which connects to a 12 foot pool. The slides are great, as well. I wish they were open later than 6pm, I wish the slide line was bigger since 3 lines have a small space to squeeze in while waiting, and I wish lifeguards paid closer attention to things taking place. However, it is a clean facility, the lazy river rocks, and it's typically less rowdy than other swim centers our family has been to. They have the occasional 15 minute break (everyone has to exit all pool areas) to clean the place up, which I know kids hate but I see the importance of doing so. Remember to take quarters for the lockers. The snacks and drinks are reasonably priced. The cost is $11/person. read more

I love coming here as it's always really clean and we have a great time. This last time we went though the lines were crazy. They need to have a better system for entering because we stood in line for 20 minutes and were then told we couldn't buy a ticket for my mother because she wasn't with us at the moment and she would have to stand in line and we could wait for her. You get more bang for your buck here!! I had family in town how ha never been to any type of splash park/water park and so I started researching places like Caribbean Cove and more! I was in shock to learn that Caribbean Cove was a whopping 15 dollars per person. I have been to Caribbean cove and while it was enjoyable for the all ages, Plainfield Splash Park blew it out of the water!! I had 4 children with me between the ages of 3 and 14. There was something for all of them, including the adults. My favorite was the lazy river while the teenagers enjoyed the water slides and the younger ones enjoyed the bucket and all the splash zones. This park also allows for their guests to bring in their own food so your not obligated to eat there or leave. I will for sure be going back to this splash park even though it is a little bit of a drive from Carmel! read more

I was very disappointed that after paying $29 for 1 adult,7yr old and 2yr old to find the family restroom completely out of toilet paper and paper towels! What a find!! Thank you smart phone for finding this and getting us there. We camped for Phish during the biggest heat wave and hottest days in IN since 1930. After spending most of the previous day raging the AC in the rental car, we woke up sweating balls and decided to take action. We started googling pools, water parks, splash parks...and Splash Island came up. It was about an hour away but worth the drive. We hit the road. We knew when we parked we scored. We had the best time. It was less than $10 to get in, and cheaper if you're a resident of the county. This, you see, is part of the town's Parks & Rec!! Why on Earth doesn't Denver have something like this?! The place was big and small, the perfect size. It was not over crowded, or overrun with bratty kids. We rented a locker for a quarter, got some free ice water, 2 chairs, and then headed straight for the lazy river. It was awesome. We floated on a double inner tube for hours, except when they make the entire pool take a 15 minute break, which was a bit of a pain because they did this every hour, on the hour. We swam in the pool, jumped off the diving boards, and did 2 of the 3 slides they have. I was very surprised by the slides, they were fun and fast! The lines weren't that long either. Splash Island saved our asses. I am not kidding. After we got out of the pools we took long showers in the super nice locker rooms in the main rec center. A big storm blew in so we kinda crashed on these really comfy chairs in the main lobby until it let up. read more

Splash Island is a fantastic location to hang out on those super hot days. The lay out offers something for little ones to adults. I, as most adults, prefer the lazy river where you float on an inner tube as long as you want. Of course water slides and diving boards will entertain you for hours if you're looking for more activity or splash areas for the tiny ones. It's beautifully landscapes with fountains and "palm trees" and keep very clean. One feature I love is your allowed to bring your own food with picnic tables indoors where you can grab shade and lunch. Huge money saver when you spend the day and have several folks with you. Lockers are available to keep your personal items in and the shower area doesn't make you cringe. The only downfall is Splash Island is known from far to wide now. It has gotten so crowded we're had to go elsewhere several times. Many Greenwood, Carmel, Greenfield and other residents visit here, understandably, but hopefully will be reduced with the addition of the new pools in their areas. Try to go early in the week since the weekends are obviously crazy. Sound investment for Plainfield, great family fun and affordable! read more

This is a great water park to visit on Indy's West side! They have a new Leisure River this year! I guess it was a $3.1 Million Dollar expansion! The place was super busy but there seemed to be enough room for everyone! The prices were good and everyone was really friendly. I'll def be bringing my family back here often to cool off! read more

They have 2 diving boards, 3 slides, a splash pad for little ones, a play area for kids, a lazy river, and even a 4 lane competition pool. That's just outside. WORST customer service I've ever experienced! After driving thirty minutes to take my niece here I was told that they were expecting thunder and would close the pool at the first sign. I understand that, but I was told they would not refund my money if that happened. I can also understand that, but I asked if he could discount our tickets since we would only be able to swim for 30 minutes or so. He told me my only choice was to pay the $16 for the two of us for THIRTY MINUTES of swim time or go. I then asked about the indoor pool but he said it wasn't open for recreational swimming. This is a great waterpark. It is very clean, snack bar is value priced. You can bring in coolers too which is a money saver if we are bring a bunch of the kids friends. Water temp can be super cold. They did heat the one side so it was fairly comfortable this time. The leisure river was brrrrr cold. But again it is clean and the kids always have fun. I don't know why people on this app are so bitter, I absolutely loved this place. It was $11 to get in and I felt like it was worth the money almost immediately. The place is pretty big, but there are extremely vigilant lifeguards everywhere. Except for occasional leaves the water and the rest of the facility was very clean. It was pretty crowded for a Thursday afternoon, I definitely would not go on a weekend. They let you bring coolers and snacks inside which I advise doing because the snack shack is a little pricey. Horrible customer service. They allow way too many people into the park at one time. They are supposed to do 15 minute breaks every hour to check the water- which I think is great. On Saturday they over filled the water park and were doing 15 min breaks every 30 minutes. You stood in line for everything and by the time it was our turn for the lazy river it was time for yet another "break" then we stayed in line and kept waiting and it wasn't even enjoyable. Everyone was on top of each other no matter where you went. Why pay money to stand in line and stare at each other while you all sweat to death at a water park? The other areas such as the pool were the same way, everyone was on top of each other. Kids were jumping into the pool and landing on each other because there was no room. Huge waste of money. They need to learn to limit the amount of people they allow in at one time so that the park is actually enjoyable and worth the money. They have 3 water slides- we were there for 4 hours and the kids only got to go down 2 of them because the lines were so long and they were doing so many breaks that they ended up standing in line for at least 45 minutes each time and decided it was too hot to stand around and wait. What was supposed to be a fun day turned out to be a complete let down. Too expensive considering the amount of people they allow in at once. read more
