    Pool!!!

Honestly, I have no qualms about splash island! It's just a fun place to be! I visited several times but on this specific visit it was their 20th anniversary and there were other fun activities happening. That's the best part is the many activities! Swimming pool, lazy river, slides, it was lovely! There were many lifeguards on at every corner. Which made me feel more at ease! There's a snack spot, cabanas (for rent), all of that! Definitely must visit or revisit l!

My granddaughters were really looking forward to going swimming over the weekend. I decided to go to an indoor waterpark closer to home, and thought Splash Island would be a good choice. I couldn't find prices online, but wasn't to worried about it. However, I was completely shocked when I was charged $37 for myself, my teen son and 2 toddlers. I was just at the Monon in Carmel a few weeks ago and paid $11 for myself and the 2 girls. And the Monon is MUCH nicer. They request that with young children, you remain within an arms length. Because I had 2 toddlers, she said my teen son would need an adult bracelet "to help me." While I do indeed stay close with my toddler granddaughters, I was almost the only adult doing so. It's definitely not something that's enforced. The family rooms were clean and appreciated. There are lockers located in each one, without locks. We did not use them tho, not having a lock and not wanting to chance having to stand in the hallway for who knows how long, waiting for a specific room with our things inside. My only complaints about the family bathroom is there were no liners for the changing table and the sink counter corner is very sharp and the perfect height to do serious damage to the heads of excited 2 and 3 year olds. My 2 year old granddaughter hit her head so many times in the short period we were in there that I was ready to cry in frustration, right along with her. The pool water and area is quite warm. It felt nice and you don't get cold getting out and moving around. All life guards are teenagers. While the ones we interacted with were very nice, they are clearly fearful of addressing issues with swimmers. We kept struggling with a group of older boys, way to big to be playing in the kiddie area, who kept racing onto the play equipment, shoving and pushing and dog piling down the slide. They didn't care who they pushed, shoved or knocked over and thought it hilarious when they knocked over small children. While the lifeguard was visibly frustrated, she just kept making frustrated faces, shaking her head and looking around as if possibly looking for a parent and never said anything to them. I told them twice to stop pushing my granddaughters before a man got angry with them for knocking his little boy over and got nasty enough with them to scare them off. The life guard saw it all and never said a word. Definitely not worth the cost, and they charge you even more if you are truthful about not being a Plainfield resident. I admit I wished I had lied because the cost was ridiculous for what we experienced and they don't check ID anyways.

What a super fun place to be on a hot summer day! I love that there was something for everyone ! For us, it was a about a 30 min drive which wasn't terrible at all. For 2 adults and 3 kids we paid 52.00. There was plenty of lounging areas and benches. Parking wasn't hectic and their were plenty of spaces!(BIG PLUS) I really loved seeing so many lifeguards everywhere. The lazy river(not pictured) was my favorite today. I also really loved being able to snag life jackets for the not so sure/hesitant swimmers. The majority of the benches were underneath trees so you always caught a cool breeze while sitting. The prices at the snack shack were also very reasonable. All the pools were different depths so people could really swim /splash at their own comfort level and I really liked that . This is an indoor/outdoor park but we spent all of our time outside (as we should) I also really liked that children ages 8 and under wore a "within reach" arm band as well as their parents. I will definitely be paying this place another visit . I give it 4 stars because the hours online, their website and featured on Yelp were not correct. However, they did answer pretty quickly when I called to clarify . Overall a 5/5 experience for all ages. Go check it out and see for yourself :)

Such a hidden gem in a beautiful neighborhood! We booked a cabana by the lazy river and it made the experience so comfortable!

Great water park for the entire family. Recommend getting there earlier rather than later to find chairs.

My toddler granddaughters, aged 1 and 2, were free. I was really impressed when we were handed one sample sized bottle of zinc oxide sunscreen per person at the gate. I was even more impressed when I passed thru the gates and saw the sunscreen station that was set up for all guests to reapply, as needed. Great idea and fantastic perk. I'm a serious germ phobe and locker rooms at public pools and water parks typically give me serious anxiety. But I have to say, the womens locker room was very well kept and there was absolutely no standing water, anywhere. I was even more grateful for the cleanliness since I had 2 toddler in tow. There was plenty of room for me to lay a towel down over the double row of benches to diaper and dress my little ones without being a space hog and getting in others way. Everyone in our large group really enjoyed the lazy river. It's a nice size, with a section that you can choose to either take a path under sprinklers or avoid it all together. There seemed to be a few places where you could get in and out, but most of us just used the main entrance/exit. I didn't get to try out the slides, since I had 2 toddlers with me. But my teenager obviously enjoyed them and rode the slides with his buddies for most of our visit. When he tired of slides and the lazy river, he got himself a burger from the snack stand and said it was good. If I were to complain about anything, it would be a few issues with the "kiddie" area. First, there is not one single spot in the play gym that you can stand without being sprayed with water. It kept my granddaughters and I from getting in it more than once. It's impossible to see where you're even going and not enjoyable, at all. My granddaughters both panicked when I walked them thru it. I noticed during our entire visit that not many children really played on it, mostly around it. The side of the pool with the walk-in entrance is also lined with orange cones that are mega toddler attractors...which makes the marching lifeguard constantly scold them to stop, no matter how much their parents are clearly trying to deter them. The parents of the other children that my granddaughters made friends with also stopped even trying to get their children to leave them alone because the lifeguards clearly were going to continue to bark at them to stop playing with them, no matter how much their caregivers were clearly trying to get them to leave them alone. The area to the side that's set up more for toddlers was pretty cool. It's a neat cause/effect dam type system. If we ever go back, I would bring some toys for the kids to play with in it.

The weather was going to be absolutely beautiful so we thought they would enjoy this. It is a weekday booking so I reserved a cabana online. The cost was $90 for 11 AM to 7 PM which is pretty pricey. I live in Phoenix, Arizona and full hotel resorts charge a simlar price. The price of the cabana does not include an entrance fee either, so you'd need to be a member for this pricing to make a whole lot of sense on a regular basis. I did look up the pricing online for the day pass entry and what was posted at the entrance gate was almost twice what was posted on line. We paid $57 entrance fee for our two grandchildren aged six and nine, grandpa is over 65 so he got a discount and I had to pay full adult price. That makes the cost of entry for a water park at almost $150. Anyway, with all of that aside, we did end up having a wonderful day and we were there about six hours. The kitty pool does not seem to be heated. It was very cold, but it is very shallow so I'm sure there is a reason behind that. We spent most of our time in the large activity pool that has a spot where my granddaughter could practice swimming, as well as a deep end where my older granddaughter could play. there is a water structure in here with a slide and buckets that dump on the kids. My older granddaughter enjoyed the variety of water slides. Neither of them were old enough to be able to handle the flow Rider. The lazy river ride was also nice. The lifeguards were extremely attentive and ensuring everyone was safe. And we were there from 10 AM to 4 PM and we only counted one 15 minute break where they emptied the activity pool. We did not partake in the concessions. We do appreciate the fact that Carmel allows you to bring in your own food. With the plethora of dietary issues, this was really appreciated. We did purchase snowcones, eventually as they were out out of ice by 2 PM, but they did end up getting refills. Our cabana had a wicker couch and four chairs, no cushions on anything. We had a working refrigerator and a power outlet as well as a Safe and two shelves we could store items. We did put two loungers in front of our cabana that we shared and used to dry our towels Staff was super friendly and helpful There are some shaded areas that are in the grass. If you do not rent a cabana, you may be able to nab a spot here. It appears you are able to also eat your own food in the grassy area or at the concession stand if you don't have a cabana. I did not see many shaded seats on the concrete around the pools. There were a couple of large structure umbrellas, but for the most part, you are in the sun. For a Monday, it wasn't busy in the morning but by afternoon time it was pretty packed. I did see a lot of vacant cabanas though so that would be an option. If you wanted to ensure you had a place to sit it's just pricey.

I thought that the admission prices were reasonable. Adults were $9 and kids were $7 each with reduced rates for residents. They accept cash, cards and Apple Pay. The two large water slides were the biggest hit with my granddaughters. The line moved quickly and they rode the slides many times. The wave pool was also fun for them. The splash pad area is colorful with a number of different interactive elements. They also liked the lazy river which they basically swim through as there are no inner tubes. My kids moved back and forth between the different areas and played for 90 minutes straight. A win in my book. The facility became very crowded very quickly. Busloads of summer camp kids showed up. The lifeguards are attentive, friendly and patient with the crowd of kids. Lifeguards rotate frequently. Equipment to assist special need individuals get into and out of the pool is available. A first aid station is also ready for medical needs. The restrooms need expansion and hourly attention. A small snack bar offers pizza, nachos, hot dogs, pretzels and other quick, unhealthy options. The food is terrible. Coolers and water bottles aren't allowed, but I saw a lot of people with soft bag-type coolers. The waterpark is a fun way to cool down on a hot day. Bring sunscreen, my kids wore goggles, water and snacks (no coolers). Wear suits in to avoid changing in restrooms. There is plenty of parking including a limited number of handicapped spaces.

The families in this cute town are super lucky to have such a great park with an amazing and large playground, a fantastic splash pad, a snack bar that sells snow cones in the summer, a train to play on, an amphitheater, a dog park, and even a cemetery! (Although, I wouldn't add the cemetery to the list of "lucky" attributes -- I just think it's interesting that there is a cemetery and a quiet space away from the playground at which to sit and reflect.) My children and I have been to a lot of playgrounds -- a lot. This is probably one of the best playgrounds I've seen in a while, and certainly the best playground in the area. It's so large that I was having a hard time taking a good photo of the whole thing. It's just so massive and sprawling. The playground is separated into an area for young kids under 5, and then an area for older kids. The toddler/younger kid area has pint-sized playground equipment, swings, a huge cement slide, a merry-go-round, a teeter totter and lots of space to run around. The older kid area is the perfect place to play hide and seek. There is just so many nooks and hiding places in the gigantic playground structure. There are bridges, ropes to climb, slides, stairs, rocks -- I can't even describe it well. Just look at my photos and you'll see how great it is. The playgrounds are outfitted with Astroturf, so the ground is nice and soft. The splash pad, which was turned off for the season when we were there, looks like it would be lots of fun. We'll have to come back in the summer and check it out. The splash pad is right next to the snack bar, which sells typical snack bar food (hot dogs, Uncrustables, nachos) as well as snow cones with dozens syrup flavors. There are tables all around the splash pad, so you can pick a table and see your kid play in the water. And best of all: There are big umbrellas around the splash pad, so there's shade! Off to the side is a big shaded atrium with picnic tables, and that's where the little train is. Kids can climb in and pretend they're train conductors and whatnot. As my kids were in the train, a real train came blasting by -- the park is close to the train tracks -- which lended a sense of realism to the whole thing. This park is a short three-minute walk to Dunn-Right, which sells great loose meat sandwiches, hot dogs and ice cream. You can really stay in this area of Daleville for hours.
