Unfortunately, since Freeman has sold out the customer service has plummeted. When the technicians show up they are great, but getting a callback has become difficult. We had trouble with our gas fireplace, going out. So I went and talked to them and they convinced me that because the fireplace was 7 yrs old we needed a new one. So we got a new one. After a month it started going out. N o w I can not get a call back from anyone to come do service. They "repaired" it once and within a week it went out again. Won't stay lit. I called and was put on hold for 15 minutes, l waited patiently then they just hung up the phone on me. Also while waiting you listen to music that is constantly being interrupted buy an animated person trying to sell you other things and bragging about their company. Nobody wants to listen to that over and over. I have since changed my service. Like many others, I had great service until they sold to Superior. The delivery folks are very friendly but the company they work for is awful. I will be discontinuing service when my tank rental is up shortly. How sad....the ruination of another perfectly good company. read more

When Freeman Gas owned it, it was "superior service" but when SUPERIOR GAS bought them out, its been INFERIOR. Look out folks, its not great customer service or, they don't have enough help to staff the phones. When the phone is answered its your on the list to have delivery, when? we dont know... how is that possible?.... Gotta agree with all these other reviews, customer service has PLUMMETED! I would not recommend Freeman Gas/Superior Propane to any customer. I was a customer for over 5 years and when I was able to get gas at a cheaper rate, i canceled my Freeman account. Took the company 6 months to come and pick up old tank and they wanted to charge me for tank rental for those six months. Even then the company did not pick up tank until i sent certified letter stated that i would dispose of tank if not picked up in 90 days. Now the company is wanting to charge me $200 to come and pick up their own tank. What a rip off. RUN From using this company read more

I would not recommend this company to anyone. I have had my tanks run empty before being refilled with calling them at 20% like they want. I was charged $4.75 a gallon on my last fill from them. Before that price was $2.89. I was never informed about the price hike just got bill and was in shock. People I know were getting their gas for around $3.30 a gallon at the same time. I called and ask for a price reduction with questions about the high price and response was $3.69 a gallon if I paid for 300 gallons in full their best price. So I let my tanks run completely empty and called them to remove tanks from my property 15 days ago and still getting that they are busy and maybe weeks before removal. FYI. Change is not always good. When it was Freeman in 2002 our community of ~25 to 50 homeowners, approached Freeman as a group and reached a pricing agreement for all. Since Superior pricing has changed it is, not for the good. Our service was out of Brevard. That is not today. Now, it is in Hendersonville. The people in HV try to be helpful, but the service is the best it can be there; I have twice had to resolve invoice issues of being overcharged. In contrast, national pricing for propane by region from Freeman/Superior is out of line. read more

I'm sitting with a full tank and can't get anyone at your company to replace it. Should I connect it back , to let it leak out again to get extra charges !? I was not planning on doing this but I feel that it may help someone in knowing what to expect when considering this establishment for service. We had Freeman gas for several years at a house we rented. On several occasions we had gas put in our tank when we didn't ask for it. And most recently we bought a house. I called to have our service stopped and have it picked up. Now this tank was FULL when they picked it up. It has been too long and we have still NOT received a refund on the gas we didn't use. Friends I'm just telling you to do business with another company because you will regret having to deal with this kind of horrible service. We have been customers for since the 80s. This is the first time we have had a complaint. Last week (17th) I called to say we were getting close to 25%. They said, they're sorry but they have been busy and would send a truck out when one is near the area. Monday (22nd) my husband called them to said we're at 25% and the repeat the same as they did to me. Well, Wed (24th) I called and got the same again. Anyway, come to find out from *NEXT Door site* Freeman's new management is haven't trouble keeping drivers and are having to train a new crew. SMH read more

the customer service both on the phone and in person is horrendous. this is 2024 not 1946 people of color can both afford homes and pay for service. My appointment was scheduled after 1pm today due to me having a medical appt. But the installer(Jason C.) or whatever you call him wanted to be rude and questioned if I am the owner. So when I called in to complain and request someone new the customer service rep (Misty)answers Yeah how can I help you. I told her the issue and she says that's it? We will send someone back out at 1pm then. Really? I have called nine times in the past four weeks trying to get new service because we switched from oil to gas. Freeman was recommended as the best, yet here we sit with a brand new gas furnace and no direct communication from this company about the tank, installation, and gas we were promised would be in place when our furnace installation was complete. Such poor communication and delivery makes one wonder how they stay in business. If it doesn't happen tomorrow I will find another supplier. read more

I called Freeman Gas on 12/21/2022 because my pilot light went out. I was told that a truck would be out to check my gas tank and reliant my pilot light. After I heard nothing from them I called back around 2:50 and was transferred to another person who could help, however, the message said that person was unavailable, so I went back to the main number. The person their said she was on break and call back in about 5 to 10 minutes. I did, when I called back, I keep getting an unavailable message and no way to leave a message. It is now 4:30 pm and I keep getting the message and I keep calling. According to their website they don't close until 5 pm. read more

I'd rate Freeman Gas a zero, if it were an option. Our home has been serviced by Freeman Gas for at least 3 years. We have relayed to your company repeatedly that our fireplace is our main source of heat, & are SUPPOSEDLY in your records as being on auto fill. The customers service reps & drivers have assured us repeatedly that they would check the tank once a month, but NEVER have. We always have to call, or request thru Chat.We've brought this up every time we request a fill.Several times we have had to keep calling, even though we've been told it'll be handled. I contacted Freeman 1.5 weeks ago, with no response via phone or email. Of course, no tank fill. It was @30#s. I called the corporate number this past Friday & the Freeman rep said that she would tell the driver. Tank was at 10#s. Yesterday, the Roebuck office phone just kept ringing, with no pickup. Second call, busy. Corporate office phone, busy. Here it is 4 days later, we have been sparing consumption to make it last, & are now our tank is completely empty. Earlier this year, 7 months went by with no check or fill. It's always been filled at the end of spring or before winter. Not this year.. At one point I noticed that your company saying was that you treat all like family. Glad we're not related. If your company is not out to fill our tank TODAY, stop ignoring us, & treating us so badly, we will be looking at another company to fill our tank once a month.
