So usually, you would need to come early to line up by 7 AM. The location and building are quite simple. There is one main front entrance and a side entrance. The passport line starts at the side entrance. Make sure you have your ducks in a row and have all of your documentation and forms ready to get your passport processed quickly and on time. In my opinion, Mission San Jose is not the most interesting or beautiful of the missions, but it's worth visiting if you're in the area and would like to leanr more about the missions and California history. I was fortunate to visit the mission for a weekend conference, so my experience there may not be the 'typical' visitor experience. The current mission church is not the original. It's a reconstruction, built in 1985. (The original adobe church was destroy by an earthquake.) However, the reconstruction follows the original layout, and employs authentic materials and building techniques, so it gives a very good idea of how the original church looked and felt. The church includes a beautiful organ. Again, it is not original, but it is based on Spanish organs form the 1800s. While visiting, I was able to hear a short concert by the mission's student orchestra, and a performance on the organ. There is a nice small museum that covers a bit of the mission history, and also includes information about the Ohlone tribe, who lived in the area before the mission was built. The Ohlone are still very active in the mission community. At the conference I attended, I met the president of the Ohlone tribe, who gave a tour of the mission grounds. The grounds include a cemetery, gardens, and olive trees. Overall, Mission San Jose is well worth a visit!

Seriously, this is not a wine tasting place but was a site were vine was bottle and in the back of the 2-3 buildings you can see the names of the brands they bottled and years and in what international competitions they participated and all those anecdotes. I saw this like an ideal place to take perfect photo shoots in a very hot and sunny day. I loved walking by the vineyards pretending I am doing some work. They are kind enough to let you wander freely (and free parking too). They have tours but my friend and I preferred the freedom to browse on our own, but really appreciate and value (as a volunteer for several causes myself) the work of these precious senior volunteers dressed in Victorian attire. The baby carriage conquered by heart (I should have brought one of my toys to put in these!). All so lovely, including the poster you get as gift for visiting. Awesome treatment to the visitors. I would love to go back with my picnic basket and enjoy the premises. Definitively I will visit Ravenswood whenever they do one of those historical events I saw in their activities calendar.

Plus you get parking right up next to the train car. The parlor car offered spacious, comfortable seating, VIP time with Santa Claus, a hot adult beverage, or nonalcoholic version, bottled water, snacks, Christmas cookies, and a great narrative of the ride. You're also allowed to walk the length of the train, but you need to have a wristband so you can get back into the parlor car area. Be prepared for lots of traffic as you drive to the train station from other parts of the Bay Area. Traffic is bad during the winter if not always. The train leaves right on time so you do not want to be late. Also, the railroad provides very detailed and helpful instructions about how to get to the depot and how to navigate the parking and other systems. They have outside train cars and inside train cars so you can choose what type of seat you want. This is definitely been worth the money and should become a holiday.
