Second floor of the gym with mostly cardio machines.
    Eugenia L.

I've been using the gym for almost a year now & it's a pretty nice gym overall. It's relatively new (approximately 4 years old). Theres a good amount of cardio equipment & other machines which are in good working condition. I completed my undergraduate at UC Davis so I'm trying not to be biased in my review. As a graduate student using the facilities, I had to pay for my membership. For $65/quarter, it's not bad of a deal as long as you frequent this place. Downstairs portion of the gym is mostly always filled with guys. They tend to hog the machines that they want so if you want to avoid the mass of guys, go to the gym at early or late hours. Basketball courts are downstairs as well & they can be turned into badminton or volleyball courts. Upstairs is all the cardio machines along with weights and some machines. The track is really small so you have to run 14 laps to get to a mile so running can get quite tedious. The gym has equipment for you to rent & body & sweat towels for you to use during your workout. The showers are normally clean & the locker room is taken care of pretty well. The gym is usually run by students so things can get pretty slow sometimes. Several times, there have been long lines just to swipe my ID card to get into the gym. Other times, there have been a lack of towels. There have also been times when the equipment rental window was closed & it was very inconvenient to go up to the front desk to request help or equipment from there. The people at the front desk are sometimes confused as to why the equipment window is closed. Besides the time to time small annoyances, the gym is a good place to go even if you aren't going to work out because there is a conference room where you can study.

I come here 4-5 days a week. I like it way better than any other public gyms. Convenient right after class, before class, or just on the weekend. It has everything you will need to get your workout on. They do also provide memberships for non students for a small fee. If you know a student they can sponsor you and you can pay 10$ a day it 36$ a month. Not too bad for a full access gym. Will be continuing to be here until I am no longer a student.

Sequoians is an inclusive body-positive space for all ages, genders, and body types (including…read morepost-surgery or modified bodies)! It's an overall pretty chill space with a clubhouse, bocce ball, hiking, and pool/hot tub. It's member-only, and the community is tight-knit and welcoming. We have been members for the last year, and my girls (9,7,5) love going. They are treated with incredible love and respect by all the members and there are currently several families with kids, ranging from 5-14 years old. Yes, it's naked. Yes, you will see naked people. Yes, you will be naked! Kids under 18 do not have to be naked if they don't want to, but adults are expected to be clothes-free most of the time. Let me tell you why Sequoians is walking the walk on inclusivity, and why it isn't creepy. 1) Creepiness is gross and bad for all ages; sexualizing kids is wrong, full stop. 2) Creepiness is bad for business! Getting accused of improper activities is bad for business! Sequoians, and nudists in general, have a vested interest in keeping their spaces safe for everyone. 3) Inclusivity is more fun! More people can be included and feel safe, and that feels good. Therefore: Sequoians makes a big deal of vetting potential members, and everyone is educated about body positivity and etiquette. You see consent engagements in real life, in terms of playing with the kids, hanging out in shared spaces, keeping spaces clean, and working together for the benefit of everyone. Everytime we do out there, my kids say "ohhhhh we love it here!" and I do too. If you are interested in learning more, please read the website. And come visit!

I really enjoy being in nature and hearing nothing but birds and wildlife. That said, it is a bit busier on the weekends, but not rowdy. Wonderful place to remove clothing and be in nature. If you're interested in gawking at naked members of the opposite sex, save your time and go to a strip club.

5 stars for Kristy and H.A.R.D…read more 0 star for Mega Math. They are a scam. We signed up for the EV3 robotics with embedded programming camp this week, the instructor 's name is Megha Salpekar. She is unprofessional and no manner. The class was unstructured and was not teaching in a classroom setting. She just put the Lego and laptops on the floor so the kids will have to work independently. However, no scope of project or theme was given. It's all free build. My son has never taken any programming class so he doesn't know anything about it. So he keeps asking the teacher questions about how it works. After "too many" questions asked, she scream at him and told him to go back to his seat and do his own stuff. He got frustrated because the teacher was not helpful and not provide any guidance, so he play video games for 3 hours. He said the teacher said it's okay to play video games because it's summer time. After learning the situation on the first day, I talked to Kristy trying to find a solution and then I also went to talk to the teacher on the second day. She was showing me the program that they use on the laptop. After asked my second question trying to find out how the class was structured, she started to get mad and yell at me. She seems to get annoyed pretty easily and have no patience with kids or parents. She's already not teaching and when you ask "too many" question, she will yell at you. Please avoid at all times. Most of their classes in H.A.R.D were cancelled. Now I know why. So their class was just to provide the laptop, software and Legos. Then she gets angry if you ask question. For $330, why don't I just get the stuff at home and we can play it for longer than a month! We have spike prime at home and my son enjoys it too and do not need to get yelled at.

I am very dismayed because this specific rock formation is the best one on the trail. Remember those days in the playground and their climbing structures? Well, as an adult, The Peak is the place to reignite that hobby and enjoy the sport with a rich community of professionals and enthusiasts. This huge facility is shared among The Peak's climbing structures, an indoor volleyball court, a casual restaurant, and a small arcade. There aren't many parking spots up front but around the back of the building, you'll see plentiful spots. Once you enter the building, head to the left through the glass doors where you'll see the many climbing walls speckled with multiple colored protrusions. The pricing is transparent and it's all available upfront. They do have day passes, multi-visit passes as well as memberships that will waive your entrance fee. In addition to the entrance fee, you may also be required to pay for the harness and shoe rentals (members get a discounted price). They also have chalk for the more advanced climbers. If it's your first time, consider completing the waiver online ahead of time. You may be asked to go through a quick orientation regarding the use of their auto-belay system, however if you already know how to belay traditionally, they may ask you to go through additional training just to be sure. Each wall seemed to feature a variety of colors to distinguish the different difficulty levels for more advanced climbers. Aside from the walls, they also have a huge structure designed for bouldering with a thick padded floor underneath. The boulder and auto-belay walls seemed the most popular but it didn't seem there was much waiting given the ample space in the facility. There was certainly enough climbing space for everyone. As a novice, the activity was fun and tiring; there's definitely a balance between technique and strength! Despite having entry for the whole day, we definitely were tired out within an hour of constant climbing and by hour two, it was just about time to leave and refuel. Fortunately, the location of this space is quite convenient due to having a restaurant right on site as well as its proximity to the highway and other eateries just a few minutes away. The staff were friendly and informative. Besides the initial onboarding, there wasn't much interaction with them. They seem to keep things organized, cleaned and well-maintained. Overall, The Peak does a fantastic job introducing the sport of climbing to the local community and providing a clean and safe environment for newbies and experts alike. The price is reasonable for an all day activity and even more so if you become a member. For kids, they also have camps to build a new passion and train them up as climbers. For the more serious climbers, you may want to consider investing in the equipment to further save on the rentals. If this is a new challenge for you, take the opportunity to get in on this sport! The Peak makes it relatively easy to pick this up and continue leveling up with each visit!
