This review is for my recent experience at the pottery studio…read more I was ostracized when I confronted a hypocritical and nosy Karen over her instigating criticism on my clean-up. I calmly told her that "If you criticize my clean up, you have to clean it for me." My polite way to ask her to mind her own business. She went berserk and told me off to the studio guy E, accusing me of being rude while she was the one who crossed my boundary. Being a poor mediator, the guy sided with her without investigating. That was because he spied on my clean up in the past too, which was uncool! It made me uneased. I felt picked on. His behavior of one-sidedly consoling the bully, instead of remaining neutral was off putting. There's a constitutional right of "freedom of movement " that no one shall obstruct your free choice. I was glad I stood up for myself. Clay, no matter how careful you are with, will be inevitably left a few traces in the sink, and it is not a big deal. Everyone does it and everyone has his/her way of cleaning. No need to nitpick and be pathetic. To be bullied and snitched by someone who thinks she has the right to tell others what to do is disheartening. Pottery making shall be a peaceful time to create without being disturbed. To instruct people what to do as if acting as a social warrior puts a damper on freedom and creativity. They should put a sign next to the sink, that reads, "Please mind your own business when cleaning, as people like to be left alone." The entire community center is funded by tax payers' dollars, government-operated meaning it's run differently than privately-owned ones, and is more authoritarian in my opinion. As a paying customer, I'd like to access to my creative outlet without being disturbed yet my experience was tarnished by busybody commie control freak and a biased worker. I don't meddle with other's business and others should not meddle with mine. I also found some of their instructors controlling. They need to respect personal autonomy. Clean up is a very personal thing. If everyone does exactly the same thing, they can move to North Korea. It was a dissapointing experience. Move on to other options for my creative pursuit.

This neighborhood center has a disappointing leadership team and little sense of responsibility for…read moretheir community. Their parking lot is home to a number of daily street racers. These street racers do everything from rev their engines to shooting fireworks on a daily basis. Our apartment community has tried to work with them to try and provide actionable solutions, including the community offering financial support, but out of all the actions, they decide to do nothing. Because of this, the police continue to show up everyday with limited ability to take action given the nature of the incidents. If you're living on Morse ave. or the surrounding area, know that Columbia Neighborhood Center has allowed their property to be a nesting ground for these street racers.

We had a really hard time finding park because the parking lot was reserved for staff members only. We eventually found street parking a few blocks away. By the time we got to the park, it was already nearing the tail end of the fireworks, but we still got to enjoy a few minutes of it. The place is actually quite crowded and the booths by the entrance were pretty poorly set up in my personal opinion. They weren't spaced out enough for people to actually make their way through, especially when there are people who want to stand at the booths and browse. It is definitely not wheelchair or stroller friendly. Pushing my daughter's stroller around was tough and I saw a lady with a wheelchair was practically struggling to get from one place to the next. The line to see Santa was too long so we didn't get to take a picture with Santa. The live music was enjoyable and ice skating rink was a nice addition. Lots of first responders were present as well...

My daughter takes dance classes here and loves them! The instructor is always friendly, kind,…read morepatient and is clearly loved by all the kids. The classes are actually affordable, about half the price of some of the local competitors! There is a little outside area in the center of the building which is great for younger siblings to hang out while their big sibling is doing class!

I saw a number of residents sitting at the various desks and couches in the lobby areas on both sides of the building, most were on their devices or laptops working or relaxing. So there's free Wi-Fi and people can just hang out there. It's a pretty new and nice looking building with clean bathrooms.

When I went outside there was impressive amount of Food Vendors ( the way it should be) so it was interesting ( the Japan Cherry Blossom in May??? I forgot). The thing is we were late ( this time) for July 4th. Celebration. There was some kind of Pancake Breakfast (Optomst Club?) but way too expensive...offer Pancake, Sausage, fruit cup, Coffee,Hot Choco for $ 15 dollars? $ 3 OJ. Since Mom is Diabetic & Dad has cancer, Dad & I decide that $ 15 is too expensive for just Pancake/Sausage. I was still curious if other people showed up, as in Cupertino $ 15 is cheap. So I was curious what other people had to say about the Breakfast July 4th. I also saw huge line for kids event. Of kids throwing DartBoard (not real darts) but it would be nice for someone to show Kids how to Throw it as most kids missed it ( maybe next yr, I will volunteer as it would be nice for someone to show kids how to throw the plastic thing to not miss the Dartboard even tho it was not real Darts) The thing that was disappointing ( only to me) is that on 4th of July it would have been nice to see tons of Food Vendors ( because its a holiday when families go out to have fun & most Families willing to spend money on Vendors). Just would be Fun to see....Offering a whole Variety on Food as there are not enough buffet Nor MultiCultural type food places to go. Dad is a huge food fanatic but he gets sick of overpriced Chinese ( his favorite). I keep telling Dad to see Mexican Food Trucks as they are cheaper than Most overpriced restaurants. Even Pho ( one of my favorite foods) is expensive in restaurants these days (I love Vietnamese food as it is one of my favorite, next to Mexican is my favorite but I lived in California back in 1990 when Mexican food used to be cheap...Now the prices have sky Rocket...the only cheap Taco restaurant is Los Dos Compadres near Saratoga-Sunnyvale Rd & Prospect Rd ( DeAnza Blvd & Prospect Rd). Most of their Tacos are only 3.5 or maybe close to 3.75 by now and they give more meat than most Taco Trucks. Only one time their Carne Asada was less taste but majority of time, they have really good Taco and good Carne Asada. Only problem is they close at 3pm. Anyhow, it would be nice to see more Variety of Food ( not just Pancake). I wish other people would give their opinion too ( Because I value our country...Home of the Free !!!!!!!)

Pastor SooSang Park is a Bay Area native with a background from Westminster Philly, so you know he knows his stuff. This church is actually a recent church-plant and cohabiting a space with Trinity Church in Sunnyvale. It's part of the PCA (Presbyterian Church in America) network so you'd def find this church in the directory. And if you are familiar, or even if you're new, to the Bay Area, you'll know that there really isn't a whole lot of PCA churches in the Silicon Valley area. There's Grace Pres, NLMC SJ and then you have Revive Pres. If you're looking for a home church, visiting the area and need to worship on Sunday, or just plain curious about Christianity, you should come check this church out. They started this Seeker's Seminar where anyone can attend and just ask questions or learn more about God, Christianity, or the church. The space is amazing too. It's very much focused on the next generation with more space carved out for kids and the youth than the actual sanctuary. Even though there's a lot of parking spaces, the church gym (which takes up more than half of the property) is utilized by the community so parking can seem full just drive further in and you'll find that there's always enough spots. If you're not quite ready yet to visit a church full on on a Sunday, check out one of their small groups which meet throughout the week at various locations.

Ahhh, Super-clean-o, Cupertino…read more This city is a great place to raise kids. The schools are top-notched, the kids are nice, there is very little crime. A quick check on the Megan's Law database shows very few registered sex offenders in this area. Having moved from a high density sex registrant, high density gang area (Hello: East San Jose!) I can say I feel much more comfortable walking in my neighborhood and letting my kids play outside. Alas, Cupertino is not perfect. The traffic around the schools is horrendous in the mornings when you are trying to go to work, and if you are a young, single twenty-something, you will probably be bored to tears here. But if you are parent and are debating between living in a less expensive area and sending your kid to private school or coming to Cupertino, I'd recommend moving here.

If you write him on a Monday he won't respond until Friday and vaguely at that. He was so hard to contact. He made the preparation process very difficult and added more stress. When we had a one on one in person, this man showed no interest while presenting the hall. He seemed like he had better things to do. No politeness, no smiling whatsoever, no kindness. Rushed us through the layout options, we emailed him two weeks before the wedding the finalized layout and he didn't respond until the night before the wedding. After telling us he would work with us due to the time he still didn't have the right set up on the day of. My husband fixed it the day of. Terrible customer service on his part. We had a slideshow, requested his assistance and never returned with the wire for the slideshow to play on the projector. You shouldn't be working for a community center if you're not helpful to your community. Rude. Disgustingly distasteful with your communication. The space itself earned the two stars, that guy Matthew ruined my wedding prep. Super annoying. I wouldn't treat people that way.
