THE NUTCRACKER -- The ballet performance on 21 December 2019 was put on by students ranging from elementary school age to high school. The students performed awesome. I especially loved the part of the show with all the foreign dancing. My favourite were the acrobatics style dancers who did twists, turns, and flips (the female was dressed like the character from Disney's Aladdin). They were really flexible and excellent. Overall, the young male and female ballet dancers from the whole show were great. LOCATION -- The Westlake Performing Arts Center is on the grounds of Westlake High School. The school campus is huge as evident from the large parking lot. I recommend coming to watch a show here. Of course, the production you may see probably won't be as grand as a show at Playhouse Square in downtown Cleveland but it will still be worth it. Our family just attended the wonderful Clague Playhouse production of Neil Simons' "Lost in…read moreYonkers". The performance was outstanding. Comedic timing was perfection. Sad, happy, laugh out loud funny are some of the emotions felt as we were drawn into this incredible storyline. Elaine Feagler portrayed Bella to absolute perfection. Her performance brought us to great bursts of laughter, and, yes, even tears. Local thespian, Elliot Lockshine (Arty), literally stole the show with his wonderful protrayal of the spunky little brother with the great comedic timing. Such a talented young lad! Meg Parish (Grandma Kurniz) was totally wonderful in her protrayal of a 1930s' Jewish grandmother. She brought to life a lost generation. Chris Bizub (Uncle Louie), Jake Ingrassia (Jay) and Lisa Margevicius (Gert) all gave great performances, as well. Clague Playhouse is a small, initimate theatre, but, this afternoon it became a grand playhouse with a production worthy of Clevelands' Palace Theatre. So, if you want to see an outstanding performance and be totally entertained you need to get to "Lost in Yonkers" at Clague Playhouse for their very next performance.

The concession stand seemed to be open during LEAFF but no one was actually manning it - I did see popcorn was $3 but for a small portion. Ticket-takers / other staff were friendly, restrooms were clean, the theater part itself is gorgeous. Worth seeing a film here if you're in the area.

This was a show simply for moms to see their children in a musical. It was about 70% children, which is definitely not how this show was advertised, however simply having a lot of kids in a show isn't a deal breaker. I'm not hating on the kids, but all I'm saying is all those awards I see these kids winning on Facebook have a lot less grandeur to them now. The real problem was the absolutely horrible directing. None of the actors were in character the entire first half, and when they were, it wasn't exactly right. The actresses, when expressing the right genre of acting, were acting like it was 2017 instead of 1912. The makeup was weird, and one character was just really shiny. The pit was terrible. The show was not all bad! The Mayor was very funny, Marcellus was pretty good, Hill was neutral (though forgot/changed his lines sightly very often), and Marian was charming. The second half was very good because it consisted of me driving home. Something needs to change. I know shows at this theater used to/can be good, but Music Man of 2017 (1991s was pretty good) can NEVER happen again, no matter how much little Jimmy wants to be in a musical. This was sad.

Hidden gem This is…read morethe coolest park for pictures in the area. A great little hike down and you are at the river. The large rocks are perfect for taking pictures. There is a picnic area and some bathrooms but the bathrooms are very old. I remember coming to this park as a kid and being my kids as well.
