This placed has gone thru 2 directors within months and all the teachers except the older teacher Fang Fang were either quit or terminated without any notice to us parents!!! If the retention rate is so low and turn over rate of teachers are so ridiculously high, how can our kids adjust mentally and psychologically to the constant changes of teachers!!!Recently, our parents were given 1 day notice of a director leaving this place??? Seriously? If the directors and teachers were not happy, how can our kids be?? The upper management should pay attention on fixing and treating their most valuable assets (directors and teachers)better, otherwise this place is the worst place to send your kids to grow and learn!

This Japanese school is only for 2-3 hours on Saturday mornings, so it doesn't compare even to a minor degree, to San-Iku Gakuin in San Jose or Hoshuko in San Francisco. Most of the students here are Japanese American, many, if not most, have parents who don't speak Japanese. Buuuut, if your child is between kindergarten through high school, and has an interest in learning the language, I think this is a great place to start.

After the 2nd practice test I inquired if we could get a list of question that were answered incorrectly so we could focus/revise studying and it didn't happen. The program is very expensive to not see any gains or meaningful improvement in overall test score from the practice tests. Instructors should know how to get students past a plateau.

They provide programs and develop facilities so kids can play sports, develop skills where they might not otherwise be able to. They have art programs too. Transportation is provided for groups who might not be able to get to a program. I have volunteered at an event they held for the first time last year. It was a run/walk inside of AT&T Park. It was very well organized with many participants for a first year event. It helped raise funds for the foundation and they are having the event again this year in March. They also provide graduating seniors with scholarships to help them with college expenses. This is a great organization to support if you like groups that focus on our children.
