I guess I expected more warmth, welcome or professionalism from a representative of such an incredible non-profit. She just sounds irritated to take these calls or answer any questions. I chalked it up to her having a bad day or being really busy in the past, but unfortunately she was pretty cold and rude this morning. If you are considering donating here, do it! Their cause is amazing. Just manage your expectations when you call since you might speak to someone who doesn't sound thrilled lol. They also have a board next to the entrance that clearly shows the sale colors, so you don't have to guess what's discounted. The inventory is a solid mix too. You'll find everything from more affordable pieces to higher-end items near the counter, which keeps it interesting every time I visit here. One thing I really appreciate is that a good portion of the sales goes the local Humane Society. I love this spot, and you can sometimes catch me here looking for my next treasure find!

Due to restriction at work, I wasn't able to promote this drive but thank to Beth L., Craig M., Cristal C., Noelle J., and one of my coworkers for making this drive successful. I collected quite a few backpacks and felt good that we helped a few families. The evening I decided it was time to drop the backpacks filled w/ school supplies off, I was amazed to see the generous hearts that was there before me; I saw huge piles and piles of backpacks... I'm not there to help everyone because realistically I can't but if I can make someone smile and not have to worry about the expenses of getting a backpack and school supplies then it's definitely worth it. The class cooks/bakes every Friday together and has music class every other week. The teachers are enthusiastic and truly care about each student. The small class sizes allow for the teachers and parents to get to know each child. I co-op in the class once a week. We help the classroom run smoothly by helping to tidy the classroom, set up projects, supervise and play with the kids. It's been a pleasure to watch my son grow and see the things that he's learning. I am then able to remphasize and elaborate on what he is actively learning at school. Lastly, Umc preschool is non-denominational and celebrates a wide variety of cultural holidays, from Chinese New Year, Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza, Holi and Nowruz. They do not take care of their volunteers. They report false numbers to their granting agencies. The staff turnover is insane! Truly insane. I am a previous volunteer there and it sickened and saddened me to know of the practices that went on there - and how rape survivors were constantly turned away for services, weren't called back, etc. The staff is wonderful, but the co-ex directors are TERRIBLE. They also hate each other and cannot ever get anything done or bring progress to the agency. One of them is now dying because she is very old, senile and having health problems so the leadership is left to the other director who is completely uninvolved, never at the actual organization and only there to collect a paycheck. Please do not give your money to this agency. Go to one of the legitimate organizations in SF or East Bay instead.

He was also knowledgeable about the typical test routes that they take, which helped us become familiar with the roads. Of course, he also did a great job explaining things in a way that was easy to remember. Highly recommended! Note: we had previously taken three lessons (six hours) with another driving school, well known in the area. Long and LT Driving School were MUCH better!

My life was put on hold when I got hit by a reckless driver (a hit and run) as a pedestrian soon after moving to the Bay Area. I carried so much fear and emotional baggage around driving and honestly never imagined I'd actually be able to do it. But Long knew his stuff and taught me everything I needed to know to pass--not just how to pass the test, but how to think, see, and act like a strong driver. He's an excellent instructor: lessons tailored to me, very open to feedback, a good listener, respectful, patient, honest, and an all-around good guy. He really understands people--he could be a therapist (that's coming from a licensed therapist lols!). I cannot thank you enough, Long, for helping me get back my life (I write, as I'm holding back years' worth of tears).
