They even do pickleball, which many tennis players would take issue with, as it involves completely different strokes, techniques, and rules. It also takes place both rain & shine, which is a rare consideration for SoCal, but it did happen to us for winter camp. The kids stay indoors to play games and work on activities, which is fine for general daycare, but...pricey considering the tennis premium. Lastly, the front desk lady is quite sullen and terse, thus making new visitors feel pretty unwelcome. She's plenty pleasant (though equally terse) to regulars. The only positive may be the private lessons that I saw taking place. The level there is obviously better yet, they still seem to be coached by young players themselves (high school/college kids) instead of prior pros who have played at a high level. Don't come here unless you would like to be discriminated against... I have never seen anybody working a service job dare someone disabled to call their attorney... but yesterday I can say I checked that box. Hopefully when/if you find yourself wanting to come here someone pleasant will help you out because she was not it. Once inside the bartenders are nice and the drinks are cheap, the restaurant is clean and the food is good. But the behavior that unfolded in front of me by Sandy at the front desk was vile and that made the food taste not as good.

I have extensive experience playing and coaching kids in volleyball and Brazilian Jujitsu. My daughter has been taking both private lessons and "playing" in clinics with Fredde. He can take your child's or your tennis game as far as your child/you want to go. Through private lessons, he concentrates on fundamentals and builds a strong foundation for a lifetime of constantly improving and playing fun. Fundamentals are key and Fredde really concentrates on them while making practice still exciting and fun for the kids. Fredde's passion is to teach the game and he truly wants his students to do well. Unfortunately for us, my daughter is quite a mellow kid just wanting to have fun. Over the years, Vincent has played an instrumental role in my daughter's development as a tennis player, but more importantly, as a young athlete and person. What sets him apart is that his coaching goes far beyond teaching strokes, footwork, and tactics. He understands the complete process of player development and approaches it with a rare combination of technical expertise, professionalism, patience, and genuine care. As a former professional player and now an experienced coach, Vincent possesses an exceptional tennis IQ. He has a deep understanding of the game and an impressive ability to identify both strengths and weaknesses, then build a clear and individualized pathway for improvement. His coaching is thoughtful, detail-oriented, and always purposeful. Every lesson has direction and meaning. What we appreciated most was his emphasis on the mental side of tennis. This is my first time writing a Yelp review. I use Yelp a lot to find good service, so I want to contribute a penny here. I highly recommend French Junior Tennis. I felt that It is not a business but a group of talented coaches who dedicate themselves to teaching kids to become good tennis players. I have tried many other tennis coaches in Irvine and Aliso Viejo for private, group lessons, and summer camps and I am so glad that I found this facility and Coach Abbi. My kids love their coach, especially my daughter who doesn't like playing tennis that much but would love to go to coach Abbi's class every week. I like the small group size, about 4 kids only, so kids can focus on learning instead of fooling around. And they can play doubles while practicing, no kid standing there waiting. Most of the group lesson I sent my kids before have much larger group size, kids stand in line to practice with coach or an assistant. My kids started with coach Abbi for private lessons and then group lessons. He loves kids and is very good on coaching small kids. He is always well prepared, using all kinds of tools, always very patient on correcting the kids to help them build solid fundamentals. He also makes the learning very fun and let the kids play rallies with each other to practice what they have learnt. Overall, I felt the time and money are well spent and my kids are on the right track. And I also want to mention that the owner Vincent is very nice and professional. He always responds to my questions quickly. I have also watched other coaches teaching and they are all doing excellent work. read more

My son has been playing with Coach Vincent Allegre for two years. After Vincent and his team I would not trust anyone else to teach him tennis. Both private lessons and clinics are very focused on technique, providing serious tennis instruction the entire lesson in a positive, encouraging environment. Vincent took the time to understand my son's personality so that he could coach him in the most efficient way. We were in town visiting family and contacted Vincent to get a couple of private lessons for our 5 year old, who has been playing for a few months. He was terrific, better than the teachers we have had in NYC. Very child-friendly and encouraging, but also focused on ensuring a proper balance between technique and just hitting balls and having fun. The facilities are perfect as well. If we lived here, this is where we would do junior tennis. read more

Our son started group tennis lessons with coach Paul in January 2015 and later we added another group lesson and now private lesson with Vincent. It is beginning of November now and he has improved so much! Highly recommend French Junior Tennis, they really take their time to correct their students, keep them motivated and disciplined and make it fun at the same time. My 10-year old grandson has been taking lessons from Coach Vincent since he was under three years old! I wish I could say he was a regular student since he loves his lessons with Vincent very much, but he lives in Arizona and is only able to take a lesson when he is here on a visit. Coach Paul and Coach Yumi are the best coaches I've come across in my many years of playing tennis. I played NCAA tennis in Washington State and my wife and daughter absolutely love taking lessons with both Paul and Yumi.
