My daughter does her program here and I have nothing but amazing things to say about Olympica. The staff is caring, kind, and courteous. The gym floor is extremely clean and spacious. The coaches are absolutely amazing. Coach Kayla is particularly amazing. I have watched my daughter thrive with her in just a couple of months. Olympica Summer Camp is amazing! My 5 and 8 year old sons loved attending this camp the past two summers. Coach Jordy is very organized and goes out of her way to create fun activities and themes for the kids each week. I was truly impressed with how the entire staff treated my boys who are very active and sometimes need redirection. The boys liked water week the best and we will be attending next summer. My daughter went to Olympica for years, but I wished we picked a better school for her gymnastics. It started well and we were happy overall but gradually some changes started to happen at this place internally, they were losing good coaches, technics were slacking and girls did not progress to the next level as expected. The coaches were young immature girls with "love affairs" on their mind sharing their stories and nude photos with the students, verbally abusing them if in a bad mood and not taking them to the next level. Their team competed in the same level competitions multiple seasons and nobody seemed to care, as long as the dues are paid and competitions leotards are sold Olympica management was happy. So last 2 years were waisted and were only good for keeping the core building but not gymnastics skills. Sad... :( read more

Olympica Summer camp is the best summer camp! Once school gets out, I always find summer camps to keep my little one busy during the summer months. Last year, my daughter chose this as one of her camps... this year, she wanted to do it multiple times throughout the summer. Here's what we like: 1. When the kids arrive, everything is organized and welcoming. Someone is always sitting at a check in desk, and the first kids there (at 8:15) get to color for a few minutes while waiting for the other children to get there (by 8:30). I appreciate that the kids aren't left to just run wild before camp. This sign in desk is also helpful at sign out, so my little monster doesn't end up in the street waiting for me. 2. Each week has a different "theme". This is what made my daughter want to do multiple weeks... water week is an absolute favorite, which is coming up soon, but this week is Disney week. Hidden Mickeys were hidden all over the gym and the kids were encouraged to find them throughout the day. Today, they could earn gold coins and choose a prize from the treasure chest, for good behavior. My daughter said they also did yoga before lunch. Lol. These fun little "extras" set it apart from other camps. I like the positive vibe. Oh, Olympic week was really fun too, especially with the Olympics this summer. 3. The staff: There are a number of great coaches this year. My daughter signed up with different friends on a couple of the weeks, and all of them enjoyed their coaches. The "tall boy coach with floppy hair" (as my daughter says), is so fun! He not only is a fun coach to have, but he totally jumped up and saved the day by helping the young ones with a dance today. My daughter wants him as her coach next! lol. The coach in charge is also great. My daughter LOVES her. She can't wait to get there every day to see her new friends and to say hi to the coach that "looks like Barbie" (Jordy). lol. At drop off, I've seen this coach hug and distract little ones who are reluctant to leave their parent. As a mom, that's comforting when you're leaving your kid all day long. 4. Access to the actual gym stuff! How fun is that, that the kids get to play on the gym equipment. The tumble track is my daughter's favorite, but the rings and the room with the slide were her friend's favorite. 5. Fun Friday! On Fridays, the kids are rewarded for their hard work with snow cones and a movie in the afternoon. By Friday, they NEED it. What a fun way to end camp. Great place for any skill level. Can start as young as a toddler. Both my daughters have been going for almost 1 year now. You can go for fun or for serious competition. There are many flags of local and state champions. Also a few flags for alumni who had college careers. At least one of them returned as a teacher there. The place is very roomy. Olympica's summer camp has been a great experience for the kids. It has kept them active and engaged while off from school, and they're huge fans of Coach Clare and company. The facility has seen a lot of great improvements since last summer too, as well as new friendly faces on staff. They run an excellent birthday party there as well. I'm almost scared to mention how affordable both the parties and camp are because I'm worried they'll start charging more! Such a fun activity for kids and rewarding to see it happening as adults. My kids (10 and 5) are both at another gym in Huntington by our house that they've been going to for years now in weekly classes. Like that one, we encountered Olympica through a birthday party as a guest. The format of the party was very similar and the kids really enjoyed the whole deal there. The Gym: The facility is immaculate and has every piece of equipment we've ever seen and some we haven't. It's very clean and it was easy to find. South County is a labyrinth for those of us not born there, so that's saying a lot. The Staff: They have very friendly and professional coaches who made sure the kids were having fun and the adults felt at home too. The high level girls that were training while we were there were impressive, so I imagine their coaches are doing their job right there too. They have a ton of state, national and college banners hanging up around the gym. Parking: Parking is a little hectic because of the layout. There are a handful of businesses in the park, but Olympica is right there up front in the corner. I'd get there early for class if it's anything like the gym we attend during the week. Here's a pic of the foam pit, which doesn't do the huge size justice-- the thing dwarfs the one at our gym. It was obviously a big hit for the kids. I'm told this was a new addition to the gym too. I've been taking my daughter, who's 7, to this gym for about six months and she absolutely loves it! In an industrial park, it's a huge open space with all sorts of gymnastics equipment. She's in a class of about 15 girls of her age and has progressed really nicely since she began. What I like about this place is the focus not only on gymnastics, but also overall physical fitness. They have the students doing sit ups, jumping jacks and a ton of other exercises in addition to tumbling, jumping, uneven bars, etc. They also do a lot of positive reinforcement, with hugs, high fives and rewards. The reason it's not five stars is 1) the classes are too crowded and 2) the instructors don't seem fully engaged all the time. They look around to see what everyone else is doing while they should be watching and correcting the girls. Maybe it's because most of them are pretty young, but pay full attention all the time! This place has a huge foam pit (photo doesn't really do it justice) and the in-ground trampoline tracks leading to it make for a lot of fun at the open gym nights. They have two other big trampolines and all the gym equipment you could need, plus a whole separate room for the preschool kids. It looks like they've updated a lot of stuff since the last time my fiancé and I were there: new floors, seating areas, bars, foam mats, etc. The gym and parent areas are always spotless and the staff are helpful. We enrolled our daughter in this gym. She is 6 and this was her first experience with gymnastics. She attends 2 times per week/90 minute sessions and absolutely loves it. Her favorite is Coach Gavin. She can already do a cartwheel, pull up, work on the bars and beam. It's so exciting to see our daughter's face light up with happiness and confidence. In speaking to other parents this gym and staff are top notch and do not put a ton of pressure on the kids. They allow them to excel at their speed and give those the extra attention that really want it. My daughter wants to compete and loves. Highly recommend this gym. Just a note before I begin that I only did a trial class here and haven't had time to register yet due to scheduling. I took my 4.5 year old daughter here for a trial class and it was a very positive experience. It was different than our experience at Azarian( also good but just diff). My daughter was in a class with about 5 other kids. They started out warming up in a playful and non intimidating way. I think they sang some songs. The teacher was very sweet and caring towards the kids. I think my daughter felt at ease. They have a big slide they can go upstairs and slide down which seemed fun for kids. Parents can wait upstairs and look at kids through a big glass window. There are a lot of seating and some vending machines. I loved that I could see them so clearly whereas at Azarian you see your child through a TV bc cameras everywhere. I asked about payment and it was interesting they said no autopay. Only checks or cash monthly and depending on if it's 4/5 classes diff amount for the month since they charge by the class essentially. That's fine with me but I was just surprised they didn't take credit card. My daughter ended the class on a high note and said she enjoyed it. They get stickers or stamps at the end which is super important for a 4 year old! I would recommend this place to my mom friends. I also noticed there were both boys and girls in the class. read more

I had a good feeling about this place at first because a friend referred us whose daughter is in the Mighty Mites program and so I took my daughter in for a free trial for the Tots program. She really enjoyed it and the coaches/instructors were really nice. I then wanted to sign up but knew we would have to miss a class one of the weeks and so I called in, talked to somebody who was pleasant (although I didn't catch her name) and she explained to me how they would pro-rate it and how I could schedule the makeup after I miss the class and such which I was fine with. My mother in law showed up on my daughter's first day of class and was told that my daughter wasn't enrolled yet since we hadn't made the payment. I was supposed to send in a check but forgot and didn't realize they couldn't take credit card over the phone. Regardless, we could have figured out a payment plan or some other alternative to make it work but the admin who called me (named Dale) was extremely rude to me. She seemed more concerned about finding who I talked to originally and getting that person into trouble and her tone of voice was we can't do this and we can't do that and I can't believe this instead of being professional and offering us a solution.. maybe just apologizing for the miscommunication and offering to enroll the next month instead. Heck if she was nice I would've asked my mother in law just to pay for me up front and I'd pay her back. But this Dale person was extremely rude and so no my I will not give them our business and I will be sure to tell all of my other friends who are parents too. read more

After a pretty awful experience with stage moms and super strict instructors at ballet, I made sure to do my homework on the next thing I signed my daughter up for. I wanted her to do something that she can have fun with that is fast paced, not standing at a bar for 45 minutes and tapping her toes. OGA is everything that her ballet class wasn't, small classes, about 4 kids per teacher, different things for the kids to do every 15 minutes and making learning the techniques fun. The best thing about it is the instructor's (at least in the mighty mites age group) really seem to love teaching the kids. They offer encouragement, high fives and joke around with the kids, really making it fun for them. I am so happy I found OGA and so happy that I found something the my daughter loves to do and is excited for every week! read more

Our daughters have been in gymnastics for the last 4 years at this gym. Coaches are phenominal (especially in the upper levels) in guiding them the correct techniques so that it's safer for the little gymnasts. We've had such great experience with Coaches Tina, Tracey, Susie, Kelley, Angie, and Cindy. Our girls absolutely love them! We just celebrated our daughter's 7th birthday at the gym this past weekend, which prompted me to write a review. EVERYTHING was PERFECT! I was a bit concerned about the party time being so short 1.15 hour of floor time (supervised obstacle courses, games & free play) and 45 minutes of eating. We had about 20 boys & girls (ages ranging from 6 to 10) and they were happily worn out from their floor time, ate well afterwards, and had a blast overall. I loved it that during their floor time, the parents are able to watch them from an open loft, which is the "party room". The coaches who assisted us (3 coaches during the floor time and 2 coaches during eating) took care of everything including teaching the children proper ways to stretch, run with them, play games, etc. etc.... AND served them food, gave out party favors, cleaned afterwards... All I did was take pictures and really enjoyed being there like a guest. The cost is nominal, considering everything they do and in comparison with some of the other party venues with staff who lack the enthusiasm or professionalism. I'm sure that we'll have another party there in the future. read more

Our daughter used to do the 9:15am Saturday class for 1-3 year olds with Coach Tracy, and it was awesome. Coach Tracy was attentive and friendly, and our daughter--usually scared around strangers--took to her really well. We unfortunately stopped going because a) the time was actually really difficult for us to make, and b) Coach Tracy was leaving that class. We handed in our notice and left very satisfied. So, why the 1-star review? Well... Fast forward a year or two. Our daughter, now 3 years and 1 month old, said she wanted to do gymnastics again. So I called up Olympica this Saturday morning, who told me that there was space in their 10am 3-5 year old class, and to come on down. We got there about 9:50am, and I explained who we were and what we were doing to the lady at the desk. After filling out the necessary paperwork, we were given a sticker for our daughter (for the free class) and told to wait and someone would come to collect our daughter for the class. We gathered with the similarly aged kids, and waited. Nothing happened, and no one came to see us. About 5 minutes after the class was meant to start, my wife thought that perhaps the class was the group of kids in the side room, and so went in there to ask one of the two coaches teaching in there. She was a little confused at first, but then kinda shrugged and was like "sure, send her in, okay." They never introduced themselves, so I have no idea what their names were. We sent our daughter in and went upstairs to watch. At this point, we really had no idea what to expect or what was going on. The front desk lady had implied the coaches would give us an intro to the class, so I didn't ask her (she seemed confused anyway). The coaches seemed confused that they had an extra kid. No one seemed to know what was going on. From upstairs, we basically saw our daughter do her own thing. During stretching they tried to get her to do stretches, and gave her some attention and explained how to do it. From there, it went downhill. She was pretty much ignored in favor of the older, regular kids. She wasn't given explanations on how to do anything, and as both a younger child and being new to the class, I would have expected a little more attention. She spent about 30 minutes in the class, essentially being ignored by the coaches and doing her own thing. After about 30 minutes, the group moved onto the bars, and my daughter followed them. She wasn't given any instruction, tried to copy the other kids, promptly hurt herself and burst into tears. Neither coach reacted. The coach with her just kinda sat there, and the other one was the other side of the room with the other kids. After a couple of minutes, my wife had to go down from the viewing area to console her. My wife directed our daughter to the rings, where there was another kid and one of the coaches, to see if she could do that. She loves the rings -- during the previous class it was her favorite thing (except perhaps the trampoline). When she arrived at the rings to take a turn, she was shooed away by the coach. Now our daughter was super upset, and just wanted to go home, so we left. No one cared. We spoke to the lady at the front desk, and her only concern was "oh, did you just have your free class." When we explained our concerns and frustration, she simply explained the pricing if we wanted to come back. I bet you the coaches didn't even realize we left. We inquired about the 1-3 class again, thinking that perhaps might be a better fit given the distinct lack of care and attention from the coaches of the 3-5 class, but to be honest I'm not sure I really want to come back (unless Coach Tracy is there!) It's a real shame, because our daughter was SO excited to do gymnastics again. Overall, no one seemed to care, no one communicated with each other, and literally no details on anything were given. Just... sad really, I wish I could have given my daughter a better experience. :( read more

My 3 kids (6 boy, 5 girl, 3 girl) have attended classes and open play for about a year now. Coach Tracy is the sweetest and truly wants the kiddos to learn and have fun. A great combination for such young kiddos! My 5 year old daughter is in Coach Kaitlyn's class and she definitely has a goal to make sure each student progresses weekly. The front office is a delight and super helpful with all needs. Leigh has been so sweet in trying to accommodate my 3 kiddos to try and get them all in classes on the same day/times and puts up with my needy questions :) I highly recommend giving the trial class a whirl! read more

Extremely poor customer service provided by Joanne. I called due to a billing discrepancy, partially my fault and partially theirs. She repeated that she cannot help and that someone would be calling me tomorrow. Understandable and no big deal. Instead of moving on to taking down my information for a return call, she continued to place fault on me and even laughed a few times on the phone. Hello, this is supposed to be a family facility and you should hire people that know how to communicate as such. Lastly, their business practice is to not respond to customers emails. I'm here now watching my 10 yr old in the beginners class. This is the third instructor I've observed with this age group who just gives a random instruction to them, turns then loose to do it and meanwhile goes and plays around with the other groups. Meanwhile these young and eager little girls are just bouncing around without instruction and practically without supervision. Am thinking we might e going elsewhere soon so that our daughter actually starts learning and improving. read more

We just left after having been here for about a year. My child was in the younger group (5-6 year olds) and she isn't a star gymnast by any means but certainly the change in teacher every class and the uncertainty in teaching has not helped her progress. Same skills each class (no real skills for actually teaching simple things like a summersault or even a hint of ever doing a cartwheel). Teachers usually confused about what activity they're going to do next, uninterested in the kids and lack of real instruction. We went to a trial class, and unfortunately won't be back. I have several family members who over the years loved this place. Unfortunately the equipment looks as though it has not been replaced in over 20 years. It looks and feels very dirty. My daughter contracted a cold just after our visit, this confirmed my suspicions. Office staff - not attentive, no follow up with your inquiries. seemed to busy with their own daughters advancement. Overall communication bad. Coaching - HIGH turnover and mediocre teaching. Coaches do not stay here long. Classes - lots of down time. expensive for what you get. Overall - Olympica seems to be gradually going from good to bad. since we have left, we are much happier and daughter is getting the coaching she needs. writing this to save others time and money. We just relocated to the area and my daughter was sad to leave her other gymnastics place. She is so happy with Olympica Gymnastics! The ladies in the front office were very friendly to work with and got my daughter scheduled right away. They are working on her strengths and already having her working on skills she had never done before. Their equipment is in great shape and its a huge facility. They offer a Birthday package on Sundays and it was worth every penny. They helped with set up, break down and clean up. The obstacle course they set up was amazing. My daughter said the kids were all still talking about it today. It was quick, easy and everyone had a great time! I highly recommend them to anyone looking. read more

They don't give you a hard time for make ups or vacations. They work with you which is so amazing. Can't say the same about other places you've been. The daughter has been attending their gymnastic classes for over a year now and she just loves it. They have quite an operation that encompasses a huge warehouse turned into a gymnastic mecca. They host all different sorts of classes to fit the kids skill levels and the girls can progress towards higher levels of difficulty. This place also puts on summer day camps and parents night out deals which the kids (and parents) love. I believe they also have team competitions and such and I've seen that a number of the girls have moved on to compete at the collegiate level. Great fun and exercise for the kids. read more
