We came to this park specifically for the splash pad. It's open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. It's a long park. Just keep driving on till you see the signs for the playground and splash pad. The splash pad has smaller splashers on one end good for younger kids and bigger slashers more in the middle and the other end. I was worried about my toddler going under the buckets because the water comes down with pretty heavy force. My kid accidentally went under it and he shockingly didn't get splatted down. It's convenient that the playground is right next to the splash pad. The kids had a great time and my son has asked to come back already. We didn't have issues with parking mid week but I can imagine it may be tight on the weekend. read more

Crown Valley Park has evolved over the past 30 years. What was once a simple building with a basic gym has transformed into the modern age with updates that were needed. The summers are filled with summer concerts that allow families to come together and the community to enjoy music, foods from foos trucks. Fall welcomes the halloween haunts where kids make memories that last a life time. I really love hidden spots in the botanical gardens for flower lovers like me can go and just enjoy mother nature. The added butterfly garden and its butterfly chairs make it more special. The soccer fields are filled with kids and adults playing sports. The community center adds that final touch with rooms that can be rented for special events, meetings, and downstairs is access to the heated pool. 5/5 I have attended a few private events at the community center and its a great addition to the area. read more

Thanks to Laguna Niguel for putting on what was one of the Best 4th of July Events ever! 2 Bands rocked the house and got everyone dancing: Titans of Rock and Jukebox, followed by a Drone Show that mesmerized everyone. Great security by the OC Sheriff, well organized event by the city, clean restrooms, easy parking before 4 PM or else shuttle, food trucks, and plenty of space to put a chair or blanket down. My husband and I enjoy taking our dog here to enjoy the park. We walk around to find plenty of grass, hiking paths, doggy bag stations, and the serene quiet of nature. The park is immaculately kept. There is a kids play area with splash pad and restrooms nearby. They even have EV parking here with chargers. The adjacent parking lot is free. The park is not too far from Aliso Viejo and we enjoy changing up the parks we visit with Suki. She's in the last years of her life and I want her to enjoy all the grassy fields she could possibly want to explore. If you have a free moment and are in need of some tranquil scenery, this place could be it. read more

This is a slight step below that, but it's completely free.i TD probably take a few hours to see the whole park...The hike (or extended walk) could be as short or as long as you like. Great place to stop before or after your trip to the botanical preserve. Colorful park with 2 main structures, 1 is suitable for younger and 1 for older kids. There are animals dotted around like bears, raccoons, turtle and incorporated into the play structures. There is a gate to the park so feels safe. Also have 4 picnic tables and benches. So cool this community has its own playground and splash pad in the same area, it looks very clean too. Splash pad opens to public on 6/21/2021 but reservations required until 7/18/2021. I discovered this park due to the special free outdoor movie night event the other day. I appreciate how the park system is trying to safely encourage and invite the community to enjoy the great outdoors. This park is extremely well-maintained and beautiful, easy to enter, plentiful parking and the bathroom in the community center is modern and pristine. The park is spacious. Great for picnics and for lounging or reading. The amphitheater is a wonderful setting for movie nights and concerts. Next week, there's an '80's concert at the amphitheater. There are so many fantastic parks in OC. We are truly blessed. If you're feeling hesitant to travel during these pandemic times, consider exploring a new park every month. A must location for a concert in the park. What a great time and place for families and friends where you can sit on the grass, have a location to view the band and listen to good acoustic quality music. From what i understand, its every other Friday during the summer months and starts around 630 pm. The suggest no pets and for sure no smoking, but drinking is allowed during the concert and confined to the venue only. Sheriff's are always close by just in case but youll quickly see the audience is and from what ive experienced all families and friends out for a free evening of music and fun and perhaps a little dancing. A must to do and dont forget to wear your fit bit for the dancing portion which happens towards the lower portion of the stadium. read more

This is a community park with a splash pad, some climbing frames and a garden (I think, we didn't check it out). In the same space is the YMCA, so you are in competition for a parking spot with them too. There is parking right in front of the splash pad, but that fills up very quickly. There's then a larger car park round the back. The splash pad was super crowded when I went on Friday morning just after 10. It opens at 10. As others have mentioned, you get older kids and younger kids, so if you have a little one it may be a bit overwhelming for them with the big kids running about. read more

This is the perfect water spray park for the kids. Not too big yet not too small. My kids can spend hours here after school. I need to invest in a nice folding chair with umbrella. There is only one small area with shade for parents and the real housewives of Laguna niguel claim that area for the whole day. The only downside and reason that i gave it 4 stars is (that lack of shade for parents) and also the floor is made of cement/concrete. When you mix water with kids... you cant exactly tell them no running or be careful. It doesn't work like that. They are kids and they are clumsy. In my 4 hours here (so far, still here) ive seen 3 kids fall and bust open their knees. Just in one day. The floor should definitely get a makeover of that recycled rubber that you see in every other park. It only makes sense to have soft rubber with water rather than cheese grader knee eating concrete. I really hope someone from the city sees this and does something asap. These kids are getting hurt just being kids. Please change the floor in the splash pad to recycled rubber. read more

- Splash pad The splash pad seems as good as the one at Boomer's but at no charge. A bit more crowded though. They have a variety of items such as buckets of water that fill up and fall, a waterfall, squirt guns, and a little toddler area with small fountains and a turtle among others. This is one of the main reasons to come here. - Playground Has a bit of variety for those that like to climb. You can climb animals on the smaller playground and "rocks" on the larger. Has little learning stations where you can push buttons and get sounds and they explain either about water or animals depending on the station. Has some slides, not too impressive on the slides. I didn't see any swings, overall the playgrounds were OK. I did like the climbing statues. The playground is NOT a main reason to come here. - Community center The park has a community center inside for swimming and such. The pool is kept at a very nice temperature and it's a nice place to swim. - Paths Nice paths are another good reason to come here, they even have a botanical preserve. Many parts of it is undeveloped and they warn about rattlesnakes so I would be careful taking pets down there, but it is nice to walk down. Was a little bummed about some kids in their underwear and not wearing any type of swim gear. There's a large play area that the children can play on as well. Yelp 100 Challenge 2017 Review #92 "No Duh" was playing which is a band that plays like "No doubt" and let me tell you, they were goodddddddd!!! Sometimes in life, one needs to take a moment and just be present, Friday was the day. After having major choas on friday, I decided to tune out and do something fun. I took my pup, my backpack chair, and some cash because I wanted to try food at the food trucks and just breathe listening to music from the 90s. BEST CHOICE. There is something magical that happens when the phones are left at home, and you are in an outdoor venue with families, little kids playing, great music, and feeling present in the moment. "The Cut Burger" food truck was on a bucket list after reading fellow yelper Rohlin's review on them from a while back. As luck would have it, they were at the venue .. Sweet! My pup was chomping at the bit for patty, so I did what any fur mom would do, I bought him a patty $4.99. I bought myself one of their famous Savory Cut burger with bacon relish, Swiss cheese, aoili sauce, 3000 sauce, and made it a combo which added fries and a drink. The employees were super nice when I asked for a patty for my pup, and were able to chop it into bits for me which I was very grateful for. I have to say, my burger was fantastic. The sauces, the beef , the overall taste and texture of the burger and the flavors were perfect. My pup ate his food, licking his lips, and was attacking me for mine too. My neighbors to the left were watching the exchange between a 6lb Pomeranian trying to sneak bites from me eating slowly savoring each bite, it was hysterical. Of course I shared mine too, tiny bits. I would recommend The Cut burger and am considering hiring them for a future event. It would be perfect. For the Medical Nerds out there: let me say this : The glaze on the bacon, with the melted swiss cheese with the combination of their sauces, caused my olfactory senses,my trigeminal nerve and gustatory cortex all heightened and go into over drive. Can you say MOREGASM?? The only thing I needed was some liquid libations in the form of a great craft beer and it would have been a perfect evening. I am a fan. Back to the venue: the presence of LN police was palpable, and very welcomed. Over all, I had a great time, meeting new people, eating great food, hanging out on a summer night with my favorite 4 legged fur baby, listening to music from my teenage years. Great event, and there is one more coming up. I would recommend coming, bringing some snacks, some wine, and having a blast. Take home message: take some time to get out of the house, enjoy the little things, and simply be present. No phones were with me, so no photos. Sorry, Not Sorry. read more

We do love this playground! The girls (4 and 1) never want to leave. They love the play structures--although we do recommend slip-resistant shoes or bare feet to avoid slips and falls. There are big and little kid sides (my girls play on both), with interactive boards that feature indigenous animals, geographic features + sound! Restrooms are pretty clean and steps away from the play areas making them easy and super accessible. Picnic tables can be found smack in the middle of the large and small play areas and we often see families enjoying snacks (or dinner together in the evenings). read more

We have been to this park before, but we aren't huge hikers so it wasn't a big draw to us. But today we went for the splash park. They did a great job with the space. First, parking is a little hard. We got lucky and got a space that someone was pulling out, but if you get there during prime time you might have to drive around a little bit. This park consists of two playgrounds with a splash pad up above. The splash pad is completely fenced in with two entrances. There are also four bathrooms right next to the park. The splash pad is well balanced to have an area that is for younger kids and lower water streams, and other areas for older kids with big bucket dumps and water guns. There are also four shaded picnic tables next to the splash pad, with a couple other tables down by the playgrounds. There are two lifeguards on duty, but I don't really know why. Their main job is to tell kids not to drink the water. I do wish there was a small kiddie pool here as well, Something that didn't splash. If you're going to have the lifeguards might as well have them guard something. This reminds me of a similar Park in Whittier. There really isn't anything else like it nearby available to the public. The Ladera Ranch splash pads are the closest thing, but those are only available to residents. read more

They offer some good programs here. My child and I love the Paint, Paste and Pour program, the curriculum changes every week. I wish they offered programs for younger children (infants). In our former city we stared music class at 6 months and my child learned a ton! I'm in the ECE field and the younger children are exposed to experiences the better, especially music! I also wish the Music class we go to was more consistent and repeated the songs we sang before and that we knew what they were going to sing at each class. My toddler has a lot of energy and needs to move around more and have less lap songs. (Plus he's so heavy now it hurts my legs to do lap songs on the ground.) There needs to be more options for children 6 months to 3 years and I they will offer more classes. I'm so disappointed there wont be any classes for ages 5 and under in Summer as well. read more

Best pool in OC, hands down. Lap swimming 7 days a week (6-8 am, 9 am-3pm, 6-8pm weekdays, and 9am-4pm weekends). Locker rooms with showers. $2.50 day pass, annual passes available. This is a beautiful pool where you can swim outdoors any day of the year. You'll never settle for an indoor pool again. Well maintained (well, the water can get a little sweaty by the end of a summer week when they have hundreds of people in and out of the pool all day), with staff who seem to take a lot of interest in the programs. Five diving boards (2 low, 2 high, and a platform only available for the dive team), an infant wading pool, and the world's best jacuzzi. In the spring you can smell the jasmine blossoms when you come up for air between strokes. Whether you're catching the sunrise, sunset, or midday sun, there's nothing like the experience of swimming in this beautiful pool. It attracts its share of triathletes, so if you're not a speed demon, yield the lanes closest to the diving board to these racers. We slower folk stick to the shallower lanes. Try to stick to just 2 people to a lane and stick to your own side. More than 2 to a lane (peak hours), and expect to swim circle pattern (look for swimmers whose pace matches your own). You can swim in the deepest end only at times when the dive team isn't practicing. The South Coast YMCA is adjacent to this city-run pool, but you don't need a membership to get in the swim. read more

We played at this park and at the splash pad. It was super fun! Here are some things I wish I knew beforehand/Things to keep in mind: *There is no age range or limit so there were tiny babes being almost trampled by 8 year olds running back and forth. *If you plan to follow your child around to safety supervise which is probably necessary if less than 2.5 years old - you Will get wet. Ideal outfit for a parent at the splash pad would be: shorts, tank top, and flip flops. None of the parents wore bathing suits, so you might stick out if you do (that is, if you care about that stuff). :) *The two park playsets are fun to go to after kids have grown bored of the splash pad. But the rubber foam gets Hot, so put those shoes back on before heading down. And the equipment gets slippery from the wet kiddos. *Bring lots of snacks and Drinkable water. (Splash pad water is Not potable. I hope all those kids drinking it don't get sick!) One improvement I would suggest is if they expanded and made a junior splash play area and a big one, with separate life guards. I would even pay to enter such a place. :) read more

OK, you found it, the best FREE splash pad in the OC is here. It's huge, it's clean, parking is close, and there's a lifeguard on duty. My kids had a blast at this establishment and it didn't cost me dime! The nearby playground is also REALLY nice, not shaded tho, boo :( The splash pad has a variety of different features, so your baby and your big kid will both be satisfied, but there's not much seating or shade for parents, so your biggest kid (you) may find that frustrating. Overall, I'm glad I made the trek to south county to check out this splash pad. read more

This is a great place to see the free shows during the summer - in particular, the Free Shakespeare in the Park, from the Shakespeare by the Sea company. Lots of parking. If the performance is at 7, I would recommend getting there by 5 to get a good spot. Although, you won't have any trouble finding a spot during the night.
