They were friendly and careful with my hands which I really appreciate! Pros -only nail salon in Eugene that hasn't torn up my cuticles and nail beds!! -quick service, we made an appointment and they were ready right on time -the nails are cute, appropriate thickness and the French is really crisp and symmetrical -the shop was pretty clean and it was peaceful/quiet and seemed well kept. -there were no unexpected charges Cons -absolutely did not get what I asked for. I asked for an American manicure (first photo). What I got: regular French (photo 2) I even double checked at the beginning with the tech to make sure they had natural tips but she still brought out a bright white and I had to ask for a more natural color. -they did not have me wash my hands or brush off the undersides of my nails at all, so I left dusty (picture 3) -this meant it wasnt until I got home that I had a chance to see the undersides- they are a mess!! Really chunky with glue AND both my pointer finger tips (gel x) are not flush with the nail at all. They're definitely going to fall off, which sucks because they're the fingers that get the most use. (Picture 4) -the sidewalls are kind of bad too (photo 5) Overall: Its not the worst manicure I've gotten in Eugene. I think that I could have done it at home and at least I would've gotten what I actually wanted, and I wouldn't be out 90$ with tip. But I really appreciated that they were gentle with my hands and nails, and I thought the service was friendly. While I wish I would've gotten what I asked for, the manicure I have looks good even if I'm concerned about its longevity. So far I would say it's the best salon I've been to in Eugene but still not quite up to my standards. read more

I got a manicure from Wendy six weeks ago. She cut my nails nearly to the quick--even tho I requested fingertip length. I asked for clear polish or nail strengthener and the goo she put on my nails was apparently gel and my nails are still tearing, cracking, splitting and causing endless problems. They are about 2/3 grown out and at this rate I'll be dealing with her insouciance and arrogance for another month. They never returned my call about this miserable manicure. I've been in twice and the same girl who sets appointments at the front behaved with horrible customer service both times. I'll take my money elsewhere. I came here for a pedicure with a friend and I was very pleased! We both got the "premium pedicure" which cost $51 ($50 plus the dollar they charge you for the nail file, which seems silly but we couldn't opt out.) I don't know what the regular pedicure entails, but this one included an epsom salt foot soak, shaping and cuticle cleanup, foot buffing, hot stones, foot/leg scrub, foot massage, and thick lotion treatment, plus polish. The place is very clean, and the staff are very friendly. My nail tech was Ken and he was funny, kind, and did a great job on my feet. The massage chairs for the pedicures are really comfortable (and the massage the chairs give you is solid.) I also appreciated that this place seemed to be well-ventilated so that the fumes weren't as strong as other places I've been. (I'm happy for the staff that this is the case, too!) She peeled off the gel with a nail clipper even though I inquired about using acetone which has always been my experience in removing gel. My nails were damaged. The only negative I found was the lack of organization in how they display their gel colors. And the lack of choices. I've been coming here for the past 2-3 months for an acrylic gel set and fill-ins - usually they do a pretty good job. However, with my natural nail now being at a desirable length I had them removed today but I've noticed the nail tech I saw wasn't really apply the gel polish as neatly. I also noticed bumps and air bubbles while he was applying and I even mentioned it to him, but he didn't seem to understand or care that he was applying the polish in excessively thick layers which can cause a gloopy and uneven look/feel after it's dried. He was not using a fan, he was using a UV light to dry my nails. I don't know what to do or what to say other than that I was not satisfied with today's service. They do a pretty great job in applying the acrylic gel sets and doing fill-ins but not as good of a job in removing the acrylic and applying the nail polish. read more

I had a pretty great experience here! I only got a pedicure but it was by far the best i've ever had! It was so relaxing I forgot about my massage chair and never turned it on... I have a funky toe that they helped me out with. It didn't look the best after years of having to create a fake toenail at other salons BUT they did a pretty damn good job considering and the rest of the pedicure was so so so perfect that I really can't complain! They didn't offer me the drinks that they do offer, but I think that's because it was close to close and everyone's minds were elsewhere and I was pretty chatty at first too. They sell some jewelry which is unique, just some cute little bracelets! The receptionist was very attentive and kind. I live on the coast and a lot of women out here come to this salon bc it is their favorite and I can say it is was on overall great experience and i'll be back for sure! read more

This salon is really nice. I got a pedicure with my mom and friend, and we were all out of there within an hour and a half which is way quicker than other places I've been to. The only thing I missed from my package was the callus removal. It was listed in my package "as needed" and I felt that it was necessary but forgot to say anything until after, so I probably could've gotten it but am also curious to know what counts as "needed." read more

Not someone who clearly wouldn't be able to get other clients. There was no prep work. Filed crooked. The nail polish was put on very sloppy. This was the only salon we could find in town that could fit us in this week. The Olympic track trials are going on so it's been crazy all over town, restaurants have been packed, etc. Not only did they let us book an appointment over the phone, but when we arrived about 15 minutes early, they got us in early and they were ready for us to be seated right away. A lot of salons don't truly utilize appointments; they kinda half-@$$ it and if you walk in as scheduled, they squeeze you in however they can to get as many clients in as possible. This salon is very clean and well maintained. Everyone was really friendly and professional. Everybody was wearing a mask and gloves. We had great pedicures done at a very reasonable price. The massage chairs are soo nice! Oh, and! When you check in on Yelp for your first time, you get 10% off a service! I recommend French Nails & Salon and will be returning! read more

I've had several pedicures and manicures here. All with different technicians. My results have always been good until my last mani and pedi. These appointments were over a month apart. In both appointments I expressed my concerns about what they were doing. Both times I was assured it was going to be great. In both cases I requested to leave my nails as they were as I had trimmed them to my liking prior to coming in. Both times I requested multiple times for the tech to stop but was told "it's all good". I even pulled away to make sure they got the point. The pedi resulted in sore spots and blisters for a couple weeks. The tech appeared to not know the process as I had asked for a Signature Pedi. He forgot about the mask and hot rocks until I was about to leave. Then did them both in about 3 minutes. I chalked that up as just an "off day". The mani was a week ago and again I asked the tech to not file my nails. I was told they were just cleaning them up. Fine. But she kept trying to reshape and filed the vertical edges inward to create a new shape- which resulted in the left side of each nail belong longer than the right. I tried to even them out but the tech went back and reshaped them crooked again making them even shorter. Now I'm dealing with tenderness from the shorter length and hang nails on multiple fingers. Other than these 2 techs, I have had good experiences and the polish from all appointments has held up as expected. read more

Park near Euphoria Chocolate in Oakway Center to find the strip mall entrance, in which you'll journey to this little gem. Okay, it's more a diamond in the rough, but at least it sparkles. Bad news first: If you're hankering for high-end salon luxury, you'll have better luck elsewhere. No frills and thrills here. I felt rushed while choosing my colors, and the language barrier prevented any kind of fun, Legally Blond-like bonding experience with my manicurist...or any conversation, really. But in terms of my priorities as a college student, this spa NAILED it. Service, although lacking conversationally, was extremely efficient. Within 40 minutes, I was homeward bound, my once tragic nails now nicely shaped and radiating with a shiny teal blue gel polish that should last at least two weeks, and my wallet only $27 lighter. My chaotic cuticles are cured, and I've already received several compliments on the color. One of my best (ahem, cheapest!) nail endeavors in Eugene, hands down. read more
