The reviews made hubby and me want to try out this cute cafe slash bakery. It was about an hour's drive but we do like getting out of our home boundaries once in a while. French Whisk was not easy to spot. From our approach, we couldn't see any signage. But there was an inviting outdoor seating area, a very welcoming garden with large parking. And that's how we spotted it. Food-wise, the pastries were just okay. Not bad. But okay. If I lived around here, I would probably come here often for coffee and whatever they had in their display case. We brought home a peach cobbler. It was okay. Service was straight-forward. We did not enjoy our breakfast at the French Whisk. Not only did it take forever for the food to come . About forty minutes. It took forever for them to take our order. There was no communication and the Prices were high but the food was not good. The ambiance is cute but thats about it. I paid $74. For breakfast and left a $10.00 tip only to leave disappointed and unsatisfied. Never again. Nor would I recommend. The bottom of my sandwich was burnt. My husband's potatoes were burnt and my daughter's croissant was gooey on the inside. The food was just sitting there waiting in the window and I had to ask for it so it didn't just sit there getting cold. No customer service skills at all. We did a door dash order today. We ordered the 3 pigs burrito and monte cristo sandwich. The burrito didn't resemble a traditional burrito and we questioned if we got the right item because it was kind of deconstructed and it was on the smaller side. It was a tortilla sort of folded in half and grilled. Good thing items were labeled and we confirmed it was indeed a 3 pig. The flavor was just ok for me, however, looks like they use fresh ingredients so points for that. The monte cristo was also not what I expected because the bread wasn't the traditional crispy style, but it had good flavor. The texture was almost like a thick crepe. I really enjoyed the jam in it. I wish I would've taken pics of the food because that would've been helpful to me when ordering so doing my best here to describe for others. read more

Everything here is great and if it's not all you have to is ask. Staff is super nice and friendly. They might lag on taking orders or checking in when it's busy but they always take care of you if you holler at them. All super down to earth people and great food. Can't ask for anything better in a small town. If you had a bad experience it was probably just a bad day. Overall 10/10. The restaurant is adorable, the food and service were 5 stars! My daughter said it was the "best chicken strips of her life" and it's the food basically sustaining her life at this point so I believe her. We enjoyed tasty mimosas and the incredible Farmhaus Stack. (Jalapeno biscuits, two eggs, sausage smothered in gravy with a side of smashbrowns with garlic. We LOVE the atmosphere, food and people at The French Whisk. It is an incredible addition to our small community: simple, carefree and unique entrees/drinks catch you by surprise when you eat a meal here. I also want to give MAJOR KUDDOS to Tiffani the owner/creator! Her restraurant is wonderful but a catered meal is out of this world. We hosted a Retirement luncheon Italian style with lasagna, salad, garlic bread and a yummy strawberry cake and then using the restraurant to host a 60th birthday party serving: Classic chilled Shrimp Cocktail, Chilled Watermelon Camembert Square,Heirloom Tomato and Peach Salad, Braised Beef Short Ribs with creamy Polenta and Roasted Sweet Corn Relish, Toasted Walnut Crumb Cake with Brown Butter Buttercream with Cinnamon Apple filling and French Vanilla Apple Ice Cream. We like to support local, small business,but most likely will not be back. They're only open two days this week - Friday and Saturday, from 8am-2pm. We decided to come out at 11am on Friday to make sure we could try their brunch. Their brunch menu had 5 items on it, one being cinnamon walnut French toast. They were not making it. Nowhere was it posted. They only had 2 or 3 of the 5 items on their menu available. Id think when you're only open 2 days a week, you'd have the items you advertise? I ended up just not having anything. My mom got a chicken bacon avocado wrap that was already made from the fridge and only ate half because it just wasn't that great. It also didn't have avocado, which was in the name? My boyfriend got the "pressed" Cuban sandwich. They gave it to us cold. It also had like no meat on it. This was essentially a ham sandwich, not a Cuban. Also, it was cold and not pressed. The sandwich was $13, a little ridiculous. This place is way over priced for what you get and I was not impressed that we made the drive only to find out that all they had was a shrimp cocktail and prime rib breakfast available out of their brunch selection and it was not posted anywhere. And their lunches were basically cold sandwiches and wraps. The outside seating was nice and the pastries looked really good, but wouldn't be back for food. read more

I can't say anything but good things about The French Whisk. I usually drop by and get the sweets from the counter case or the brie or snacks from the grab and go case. Everything is amazing and the ever changing variety keeps it exciting. Last week I stopped in for breakfast for the first time with my three year old and we both LOVED our meals. The biscuits and gravy had this amazing flavor and the chocolate crepe was to die for! I mean the most amazing tasting chocolate I've ever had. Horrible customer service. Good food. Horrible customer service. We made the hour drive weekly to support a law enforcement friendly establishment, and loved the food, expect to wait for your food. Any contacts with the owner Tiffany are very rude. She is short and put out with any questions and less than helpful. We won't be returning. And I have notified each family from my agency who I've recommended this establishment for, they won't be returning. I've also let other jurisdictions I've recommended you to know as well, four families won't be returning. So sorry you had a "bad baking day". Word has gone out to the local agency family Facebook group and they're not happy. Now to address the LGBTQ groups for my daughter's BFF who wasn't given consideration. Bye bye. read more

Well, I really wanted this to be a good experience. However, I must say upon arrival we were unimpressed. Not having ever been there before we didn't know the process. We went in and asked if we could sit outside, (brunchtime). We were just merely told "yes". We sat outside at a table, there was another couple at another table. Our table was dirty, so I went back inside and asked for something to wipe the table down. She handed me a wet dishcloth. I wiped the table, and also had to level the wobbly table. (Unfortunately, I failed to tell them). Next, after waiting for another 6 minutes, I went back inside to ask about how we ordered. A young girl said there were menus on a rack. I asked if we came back in and ordered? She said "no, we'll come to your table" I said OK, this was our 1st time here, & we didn't know the process. I explained we were outside , and she said, we didn't know you were there. I said we asked if we could sit at a table. Nothing. I saw napkins w/ utensils in them & took 2 sets for our table. I sat down again. The couple at the other outside table said they'd waited long enough & left. They did have menus & waters. Finally, after about another 5 minutes, a nice waitress came out & took our drink orders. She brought back the drinks very quickly. (1order of bottomless mimosas). She explained the 90 minute rule. We gave her our orders. The food came out within 8 minutes. The food was "ok", maybe I was hoping for a better fare of food. Not once were we apologized to, or explained how things worked, unless we asked. Unfortunately, we will not be back. I saw such great reviews and was hoping for better. this is a hidden gem. this area was in desperate need of a yummy brunch spot/cafe with a farm to fork emphasis. super cute and charming ambiance - a quintessential small town cafe vibe. it is clear that chef/owner is sophisticated and experienced in the kitchen. the menu emphasizes fresh and local ingredients and has a combination of classic dishes with a twist, and some more creative and unique options. on another note - the coffee is excellent. i was so impressed to have one of the best lattes i have ever had at this spot. this is the only breakfast/brunch spot i will eat at when i'm in the area. recommend coming early as sometimes things run out closer to closing. read more

We have been here only twice. However, each time as been excellent! My husband and I go to brunch every Sunday with our friends and we all agree this little gem in Sutter is going to be our go to brunch place. Our waiter Larry is very pleasant and very knowledgeable about the food since I always have questions about what I am going to eat. Larry is also very attentive filling our drinks and asking if we need anything else without being annoying. Highly recommended this place! Hey Yuba City Sutter is not that far. I can't say enough wonderful words about this gem of a restaurant. I recently hosted an 80th party for my sweet mom at The French Whisk. Since I no longer live in the area, I spent a lot of time researching and calling Yuba City restaurants in an attempt to find a venue. I found most restaurants had either completely closed, were closed for lunches or did not accept reservations. Thankfully, I remembered that I have been following The French Whisk on my Facebook page. I emailed Tiffani and through a series of back and forth emails, she provided us with the most amazing and delicious buffet luncheon to celebrate my mom. The restaurant is completely charming, the food was absolutely delicious, the flower bouquets were gorgeous, the desserts delectable and the entire staff; Tiffani, Katie and Lorrie Anne made us all feel welcomed and appreciated. Several guests told me how obvious it was that love and care was poured into our meal. We had 20 family members at the party and everyone enjoyed themselves immensely! Our menu was Chicken Cordon Bleu Pasta, Chicken Parmesan Pasta (two of my mom's favorites), Fall Salad, Ratatouille, Homemade Rosemary Dinner Rolls, Iced Tea, Lemonade followed by a miniature exquisite Boston Creme Pie for my mom and an assortment of French Friands; Pistachio and Strawberry, Black Cherry and Chocolate and Honey-Lemon and Thyme. Tiffani is a dream to work with with. I hired her to cook a birthday dinner for my husband. There were six adults and this was my first time hiring Tiffani. Let me just say that I would hire Tiffani again in a heart beat. She was fantastic. Tiffani and her husband Dave arrived promptly at 4:30pm. She was so warm and personable and I knew I immediately liked her. Also I answered the door in my bathing suit and she didn't seem to mind that I was a hot mess. I told Tiffani I would be out in the yard and to call me if she needed me. She told me she would. Her and her husband got straight away to work. Here was our menu and I will comment on the dishes: Amuse Bouche~ French Pate with Crostini -I do not even like Pate but this was delicious I also want to note that Tiffani and Dave plated these beautiful and served them to us poolside. We had so much fun eating them while playing ChampPONG. Savory Tart Assortment--All of these were the BOMB Spring Pea and Herb Beet, Honey, and Pine Nut Brussel Sprout, Sweet Potato, Balsamic ~Salad~Spring greens with Cashew Sour Cream Dressing- refreshing ~Entrée~ Pan Seared Rib Eye, Scallops topped with Fresh Cherry Balsamic Pan Sauce- Rib Eye cooked to perfection/Scallops super big and flavorful Seasoned Potatoes- perfectly roasted and cut the way a potato should be cut Sautéed Baby Spinach with toasted Pistachios-so freaking good ~Dessert~ Spring Carrot Cake with Candied Ginger Ice Cream-OMG OMG amazing ice cream. While living very near the Campfire, she followed through with a first class Beef Wellington, roasted green beans with onions and bacon, Brie tarts, pineapple upside down cake and so much more. Our family had the flu this week and were unable to have the food the night intended. She bagged and prepped it all, gave me everything I needed to know what temps, etc. let's just say......this meal was meant for a party of 15, and I'm considering keeping it all and freezing for later dinners along the way.
