The first time i visited Frequency (my sister recommended) I just did a trim to my bangs with Indy. It was great, she was great and we connected quickly. I consulted with her i was in between doing a balayage or extensions that would make the balayage illusion ( to not harm my virgin hair). She went 100% for the extensions. A couple of months after giving it some thought, I decided to purchase the extensions with her. I went to the salon, we got a color and ordered them (sent the money via venmo). We ordered 3 packs of K-tips ($760). I paid in advance the installation fee as well ($500) and booked my appointment. The extensions looked amazing when installed & styled, after I washed my hair a couple of days, You could see the difference of color (way to obvious it was not my hair) and the type of hair was not for me ( I have some light waves & the extensions were too straight). Less than a month I started to have a terrible rash on my scalp and build bumps on my head (pictured added). I wrote to her worried because my head hurt so much of the scratching and she said it was normal ( I have used K-tip before and this has NEVER happened) and when i told her to take them out to get a refund on the extensions she quickly respond and said that she could not refund the installation, but could remove without a charge and provide a scalp treatment.... at the time i honestly didn't care about the installation fee (wish I did). While all of this happened, I had someone in the mall stop me and ask if I'd considered to deep shampoo my hair because it looked so damaged. I quickly wrote to Indy because this was such a shock to me & to follow up to see if she contacted the Company. She was going to call the company (which she never did), but after several follow ups I had to call the Company and provide a Case Number to her (April 12th). The Company explained that this was a bad installation and the rash was due to the hot glue being to close to my scalp ( so my head was burnt) and that I had to take off the extensions and my stylist needed to return and the refund would be issued to her (because she purchased them)- ok perfect! When I had my appointment for removal, she gave a wash and a spray that would help with the rash (it really did) so we decided to keep them for a bit longer & test if the spray helped. So she just toned the extensions so they would blend better with my hair (I paid for the toner- $100). After almost 2months I come back to just refund the extensions & exchange for another type because they were just falling way to quickly and ripping hair of my head when they fell out! We booked the appointment after my trip (to at least have good styled hair there) and we removed the extensions (June 26th). She said she would call and process this quickly so we would just use the money for the extensions and the difference in the installation etc. Excited to have a better feel & look I was ok with it! Fast forward to almost 3 months of constantly following up and NO response and/or excuses I had to send a Passive Aggressive text message (August 23rd) demanding to have my refund treated as a priority ($760 is a lot of money - I can buy Manolos with that OK) I made the request via Venmo for the $760 and she refunded me ($493.75) the next day ( August 24th). She offered to pay the difference out of pocket & apologized for the inconvenience. When I asked when was going to send the difference she said she did not know ( because personal reasons I'm not going to share). You know... I've been patient, but this was just disrespectful. All I could think of was more months of following up with no response and I was not having it. I had to involve a lawyer to get my refund back ( ooh and I received within the hour of my lawyer sending her a letter today)- August 27. The funny thing is that when she sent me the screen shot of the Company refunding her MY money.... She received it on JULY 21st! She lied every single time I asked about it. I'm sorry, but I don't care how great you can style hair (NOT extensions), but you shouldn't be dishonest with your customers & try to steal money. I was already fine with her keeping $500 of installation... In conclusion, I DO NOT recommend this place. I'm sorry, but I don't work with dishonesty. read more

I scheduled an appointment for hair braiding months in advance, and was quoted a price of $100 in writing. On the day of the visit, Misty bumped my appointment later at the last minute (something that has happened multiple times for people I have sent to Misty, where she cancels last minute - and once didn't show up when my family member went to their appointment - that is another story). When it came time to pay the bill, I was shocked at the price, and remembered I had been quoted something different but decided to go home to review my past communication history with Misty to see why I seemed to remember a smaller quoted amount. I found the email thread where she quoted the service for $100, not $150 that she charged me, and sent her the screenshot. By text, she asked me to stop harassing her. By email, she said she couldn't refund me because she doesn't have the money. Also, by the time I got home from the salon, the braids were coming apart and one was several inches shorter than the other one. They were also braided in different ways so that one laid flat and one laid to the side. This is hard to describe in writing, but generally they were not executed well. I'm overly polite to people who do these kinds of services so didn't do anything at the time, but I was also super late for preparations to go to a festival at dawn the following morning and she'd already needed to bump my appt later. When I got home and inspected the work I realized it was not well done and I had to remove the braids. I will never recommend anyone to visit Misty due to her customer service policies. I'm not even asking for a full refund despite my disappointment with the quality. When you quote a price in writing in advance but then overcharge a client at the time of service, you refund the difference to rectify your error and honor your word - it's the right thing to do. read more

The salon is so convenient to get to with public transit and the space itself is so pretty with beautiful art everywhere. I just started the "curly girl" method and was looking for a hairstylist in Seattle to show my hair the attention it deserved. Misty took her time to prep and cut EACH curl, taking her time to explain why she was doing what she was doing, without forcing an impractical cut on me. As a result, it's now the most well-behaved it's been in months! Okay, I did something crazy. I sat down in Misty's chair and told her I wanted something drastically different, colorful and completely her creation. I've been going through an incredibly hard time and she worked on my crown chakra with the most beautiful color therapy .The result was unlike anything I could have ever imagined. I've always thought that I couldn't rock bangs and was a tad apprehensive as she was cutting them. I've been seeing Misty for several months now. I love her so much that I usually sit in traffic for about an hour just to get to my appointment to see her. I would usually come in for a bleach n tone touch up and cut (I have short platinum hair). When Misty told me about her combination of Reike healing and hair, I was very skeptical. I had no idea how the Reike thing worked and just kind of nodded and agreed that it was a neat idea. Well, shortly after, I experienced a very traumatic moment in my life. This incident left me feeling alone, hurt, betrayed and used. I needed spiritual guidance. I talked to Misty about what happened and she encouraged that I focus on healing. I thought about it for a couple of weeks and made the appointment for a Reike session with her. I didn't know what to expect and was just ready to wash away the bad things in my life. Misty provides a wonderful environment for a safe space and a place for peace. I felt truly connected to Misty during this session, like she knew everything without knowing everything. It's a strange concept. Anyway, after the session, I felt a little off balance but mostly the same. She told me that over the next few days I may feel something a little different. She gave me instructions on how to protect myself with positive affirmations and meditation. It wasn't until a couple days after that something did feel different. I felt like I was being reborn. My perspectives on things changed and I felt free in way. Not only that but I got a huge confidence boost with an awesome hair do!
