You're going to be fine if nothing goes wrong. I have been going to Blair for many many years. She charged me over $500 for color correction and my hair looked the exact same. Her excuse was that the other salon "blew my base". Okay then you should have told me that there was no correcting the color and saved me $500. She fit me in between another appointment, toned it and then I had to come back for highlights paying for two separate appointments. We discussed these happening together on the phone. I understand she wanted to help, but that is not acceptable when a customer doesn't actually get a fix. When I asked for a discount towards future appointments, she was inflexible and went back to not accepting responsibility. If you come with virgin hair, or not color correction she is very good at blonde highlights. read more

I have naturally dark hair, which can easily turn brassy with color, but Jenna's technique is flawless. My color always comes out rich, dimensional, and beautifully blended. So my colorist moved to San Francisco and while I'm happy for her, it left me without a local stylist. I needed a touch up and went to a different salon and had an unfortunate ashy green tone situation that looked ok, but just wasn't what I wanted. So I googled blonde specialist Seattle and booked a consult with Carolina. She agreed that it needed a little help and came up with a plan to adjust the color without further damaging the hair at a price point that I felt was very reasonable. I booked the service and texted later to add a haircut which she luckily was able to accommodate. Long story short I left with the shade of gold I wanted and a flattering cut that I love. I spent several obsessive weeks scouring Yelp for a Seattle hair stylist to brighten up my hair before my wedding day and am SO happy I found Nina! My hair is naturally blonde, but had gotten quite dark and blah during shelter-in-place and I wanted to look my best for my wedding. Even though Nina is hard to book with due to her popularity, by some miracle I was able to slide in to a sudden cancellation. (Hint- for new clients, send her an email first with a photo of your hair and some words about what look you are hoping for; then book through their website). At the appointment, Nina took extra time to discuss my desired look, and explained her plan for the process and timeline for the day. I could tell that she was thoughtful and careful about her placement throughout the appointment - truly an artist who appreciates her craft. She was also a blast to talk to! NEW CLIENTS BEWARE!!! Save your money and do NOT come to this joke of a salon. Wish I could give zero stars for such a ridiculous experience. For Mother's Day, I scheduled my mom a hair appointment and prepaid for part of her service. (Thought it was extremely odd that the salon does not have gift cards.) She was so excited to get a foilyage and try a new salon! I specifically scheduled my mom with Blair because she is the owner of the salon and thus we expected her to have a lot of experience. When my mom showed up, she simply asked to have her already blonde hair brightened up a bit, like the attached picture. The owner of the salon went back to "mix the color" and came back 20 mins later nearly in tears, only to tell my mom she was unable to do the service...... she said she "wasn't the right stylist." Blair sent my mom away, which made her feel embarrassed and upset. She left questioning herself and her hair and feeling extremely confused. Your salon is literally named Blonde and Gold, yet you can't achieve a blonde look on someone who's already blonde???? I really don't understand. According to Blair, she only "does one direction for foils and didn't understand the current pattern in my moms hair." Unbelievable and so ridiculous. My mom waited for a month for this appointment, drove over an hour to get to this appointment, and was prepared to pay for a $450 service. I'm extremely angry as this was my Mother's Day gift to her, and a total fail. I feel really bad, and 100% regret sending her here. Tupper is amazing! I am so glad I found him. I went to the same stylist for balayage for years, so when he retired I was 't sure where to go. I had, had some bad color experiences in the past, before I found my main person so I was nervous. I found Tupper and we went for it and OH MY GOD I loved my hair. He us magical. He did my color for my wedding and very recently leveled up my blonde. He also gave me bangs - like realllllllly good bangs, which anyone who has ever had bangs knows is a a miracle. Do Not Come Here-- Terrible First, if you go through the reviews, you'll see that the majority of them are from when the prior owner of this salon was here. That explains why the salon has a higher rating-- They should be deleted because they are misleading. Read the recent reviews and you'll see they aren't good. I came in to get my roots done and my highlights refreshed from a year ago. I told her I wanted to do the same thing she did last time only to leave more grow out and had to show her the same photo I did a year prior because she responded coldly, "Well I don't know what we did." That was the first red flag. She then put dye on my roots and left it on for 2 HOURS. Second red flag. I kept watching the time because it started to sting and I've never ever had dye left on my scalp for longer than 30-40 min before. Isn't that Hair 101? When I was at the sink, I saw the toner in the bottle that was in her hand and it was pink which was concerning because I was clear I wanted a cool toned blonde like we did last time and we had gone over the fact we were COUNTERACTING brassiness and warmth because I'm a natural brunette, not adding... Then, after blatantly just ignoring my request if she could use styling mousse, she hurried through a blow dry and I was rushed out. I left a 25% tip anyways (huge mistake) and over $400 later got into my car when I saw my hair. I had pitch black roots with an orange, brassy line of highlights that resembled an all over box-dye hair job. I couldn't believe she let me leave the salon like that. And if her blatant coldness was because she saw how my hair turned out, that's when you're honest and level with your client and let them know instead of trying to rush them out of your salon. My hair was fried, my roots were black, highlights were orange, and because of the dye she left on my scalp for 2 hours, there were a lot of areas where the hair was literally singed from my scalp. Later, I sent her a dm with the photos I'm posting here asking if she could fix it. We set a date where she then cancelled 2 hours before I was supposed to be there saying she's "running behind," I finally got in the following week. I showed her the same inspo photo from before, and left with even brassier, dull, hair color with the same black roots as I had before. SHE RUINED MY HAIR. As others have said, she's not friendly, has an attitude, and is too busy gossiping with her friend talking negatively about other friends the entire time it's clear she could care less about you and your hair and just isn't a good person. After this entire experience I would only ever recommend that someone AVOID THIS PLACE. I paid over $400 to leave with hair that looks like an amateur did it and the highlights I had prior are completely gone. I regret ever coming back. I just had my first appointment at Blonde and Gold and couldn't be happier with the results and my experience as a whole at the salon. I went in looking for a change from my decades-long routine of basic "full highlights", wanting something more nuanced, blended and modern. Blair did not disappoint. After talking for a few minutes she recommended that we "warm up" my overall color to flatter my skintone, add babylights and do a color melt, resulting in a lived-in look that would grow out gracefully between appointments. I did not completely understand what the process would look like, but was willing to just go with it as I'd seen her instagram page and liked the general aesthetic of her work. The end result was fantastic - a beautiful, multidimensional blonde without any harsh transitions - like natural blonde, but better;) I'll be back regularly! read more

Unprofessional is how I would describe my experience with Blonde and Gold salon. If you value your time and need a salon that will also respect and value your time, then book elsewhere. I booked my appointment via their website, since there doesn't seem to be another way to get in touch or book an appointment. They have a strict cancellation policy (which is ironic) and I had to put a credit card down to make the appointment so they can charge me if I cancel. I scheduled an appointment a month in advance (which they took four days to reply to my request btw), I took the day off work, arranged and paid for child care for my son, and then 2 hours before my apt I receive a TEXT from Blair saying: "Hi Talia this is Blair with blonde & gold, I have an emergency and have to leave today and need to reschedule." No apology, no phone call, just a cancelation text. I get it, emergencies do happen, even on one of the most gorgeous days at the start of summer--things happen, the way in which things are handled when things come up really shows the professionalism/customer service/general respect and care for the customers. A phone call would have been 'best business practice,' IMO but if a text is all that's available, totally, maybe lead with "I'm sorry" "can I call you tomorrow so we can talk about getting you in ASAP," etc. I can think of a million better ways to handle a brand new client or any client for that matter. Wow, can I have your credit card Blair? Can I charge you the time I took off work plus childcare for my son? What happens if I had an emergency? I know, it was clear: I get charged the full price for a haircut I didn't get, from someone I have never met or spoken with an infrequently ministered website that takes 4 days to respond. Got it. It's really sad how these girls are giving small businesses a bad name with their low standard of professionalism and little regard for clientele. read more

Cody is one the meanest people I've ever met. I went to her after a friend suggested her services for a consultation to see if she could help my hair that was damaged from years of cheap products. I went to her for help and walked out feeling SO much worse than when I walked in. She held my hair between two fingers with a disgusted look on her face, told me she was "her own business owner and could decide who she wanted to represent her 'personal brand'", that she didn't even want to touch my hair, "didn't want for me to be a walking advertisement for her" etc. I was willing to do whatever it took to correct it and was prepared to pay LOTS for it too. She said she would follow up with me and I never heard from her again. I went to another salon and the guy was SO sweet. He corrected my hair with NO problems and was appalled at the way she made me feel. Sounds like this is on brand for this salon too with similar reviews about the owner, Nina. So I'm not one to write reviews but I honestly had a terrible experience with this salon. First, I waited for ten minutes and she never acknowledged or apologized for the wait. Which I don't really care about but like at least say sorry. The worst part that got me to write this review is when I went in for a haircut and highlights and Nina literally tore my hair to shreds. If anyone has ever moved states can attest finding a new hair stylist can be nerve racking. I found Amanda originally at another really nice salon in Queen Anne, but when I find someone who listens to what I want, gives recommendations when I don't know quite what I want, does good Balyage and spends the time to blow out my ridiculously thick hair...let's just say I'll follow this woman all over Seattle for hair appointments. But as luck would have it when she moved, she moved right nearby at the adorable Blonde and Gold. The place is straight out of a Pinterest page, very minimal modern hipster decor-super light, bright and cozy. The women who work there are just lovely people. And while I try to book my appointments on Saturday mornings, the plus side of booking after work on the weekdays is unwinding with a nice glass of wine. Not that they don't offer on weekends ;) Parking. I walk because I live so close but located at the top of the hill your best bet is to pass by the salon and stay left onto Galer. Parking is available on the numbered residential streets. And if wine isn't your thing you could even park over by 3rd and grab some coffee at Cafe Fiore before getting your hair did.
