I hired ARC and they came out yesterday. After an inspection of the chimney, they told me it wasn't dirty, so it didn't need sweeping. They performed the inspection and reduced the fee that was quoted to only include the trip and safety inspection. Mike and Hunter also gave me some tips on what wood not to use and how to care for the fireplace between sweepings, which should be done annually if you use the fireplace a lot. I would definitely recommend ARC for your chimney needs.

They took over 30 minutes to get the ladder together to get on the roof…read more I had squirrels coming in on the side of the chimney and I wanted them to repair this so that the animals would stay out. They hung out on the roof for a while doing nothing. One of them kept watching me on the ground to see if I was watching them do nothing. Then, they came down with a really expensive solution to my problem and said I had all these roofing issues. They said they couldn't fix the chimney without all this expensive equipment, and they started talking about all the "work" I needed that they would come back to do. When they came in, I was preoccupied with the animal control guy and I agreed to let them clean my chimney, even though its a gas chimney with ceramic logs. Big mistake! They charged me $175 to vacuum out my fireplace and wipe down those ceramic logs. Something I could have done myself. I was shocked because another company with very high Yelp reviews had said $60 to clean, so I had thought it would be $60-$70. I should have asked first. So, they charged me $250 (including $75 for the "inspection"), and my real problem wasn't addressed. I'd stay away from them if I were you.
