I tend to shop this store rather than another market in the area when I need a variety of items quickly. It's not as packed as others and I like that's it's convenient to get to and open till 10pm Grab a cart and when you walk in you will find bins of the produce that they have on special .. which is what I go here for. I feel their veggies and fruits are fresher than the other smaller grocery in the area. They have a nice deli too with Boars Head options. Variety of organic foods throughout the market as well a small area with plant baseed items which are becomming more and more popular. They also have a nice Heath and Beauty section.. and if you buy CBD items - they have those as well. Highly recommend this store for your shopping needs and a nice add to the Pleasant Hills area.

I was shopping for turmeric and a few other items that are not readily available in a supermarket. The turmeric is no longer sold in bulk. Instead it is packaged in bags. The impact is it is quite a bit more expensive. You can see through the bags well enough to check for mold, which is good. A very nice recent addition is self checkout. I very much prefer self check out.

Came by this morning right when they opened and the store was just so perfectly put together. The fruit and vegetables displayed look like cute pictures, not to mention fresh! They have a nice selection of different dietary needs: gluten, soy, dairy free options. They also have a nice fresh juice bar and you can actually see them juicing to put right on the shelves. How fresh and delicious! They offer vegan friendly beauty products that you would rather see sold out and picked over at Target. This week they had lemons and avocados 2 for $1. They had a nice large selection and usually avocados on sale mean all soft and mushy, ready to eat. But, these weren't at all! So many different avocados at different firmness stages. Yay! Might need to stop by more often!

This is THE farmers market to go to when you need just about any sort of produce. Or something…read moreextra... but the regulars are Simmons, Janoskis, "the farm family", near Wood street bakery (fridays) and Pitaland, who have a fantastic variety of produce/herbs/plants, "the older guys" down towards the kettle corn (this doesn't arrive till June) Then you have food vendors- like Acou try Style Pizza, shaved ice, local honey, Coyne Family meats, the fudge lady, etc sorry I cannot name them all! Fridays only in May, then Things start rolling in June-August. Best part, this goes until November; it's covered, mostly enough parking except be prepared when corn season hits. Last Friday, the first market, Janoskis brought, French carrots, fennel, Sorrel, plants, tons of lettuces and cabbage- just to name a few. The AMAZING wood Street Bakery had their fresh breads, cinnamon rolls- so much good stuff that's hard to choose! And a new vendor came selling beautiful tulip bouquets. This has been a family favorite stop for over 20 years that we've lived nearby.

You could get in and out fairly quickly if you knew exactly what you wanted. We arrived a few minutes after 5:30pm and there was a bit of a crowd already, but not the same magnitude of farmer's markets in the bay area. We only picked up a few veggies and fruit, all fresh and crispy, though one of the ears of corn we got had some smaller kernels compared to the rest of the bunch. Also managed to get some baked items, some gifts to take home, plus freshly cooked chinese dumplings! Besides the fresh veggies, these were a highlight considering there isn't much local asian food to choose from and definitely some of the better made dumplings I've had. Not too salty and not too oily. Great place to pick up a quick dinner or some last minute veggies.

I…read morewas shocked when I moved here in July 2023 after paying $5.50 a dozen ear of corn to $11 a dozen at Trax, farmers markets, and the grocery stores. I can understand the grocery store being a little higher because they have to buy it and bring it in but all Trax they had to do is pull it out of the field and put it in the table in the building so the price should be much lower. As a result, I take a day trip back to Belleville, where I used to live and buy about 8 to 10 dozen years of corn and freeze it for the winter I also buy five fry peppers 5/$1 red and green bell peppers 3/$1, zucchini 3-4/$1 and they're not itty-bitty little things. They're a normal size. I just find that tracks prices are way out of proportion compared to other places.

It also sells desserts such as pies, plants such as flowers, and other businesses' products such as canned goods. I bought two bags of fresh produce and a jar of honey. The total price was $39, which my husband thought was more expensive than regular grocery stores' prices. The employees did not greet me as I walked around the store, but I think that English is not their first language. The cashier did thank me and tell me to have a good day. Overall, I do not envision myself shopping here regularly, but I enjoyed browsing the products, and so far, these foods at home are tasting good.

Funny that the ripe tomatoes I crave were presented as "seconds" because they were so ripe. Perfect for me! Nothing better than cutting out the core of a truly ripe tomato (warm and not refrigerated -- they lose their flavor when cold), sprinkling some salt into the cavity, holding it over the kitchen sink and sinking your teeth into it, the juice and seeds running down your chin. Ahhh... Then, to my joyous surprise, I've discovered not just one but two fabulous vendors that I look forward to visiting. The Cookie Goddess (one Martie Allen) sells home made baked goods and I can't say enough praises for her flourless brownie. Seriously moist, rich, and chocolately! Give me more! At $1.50 each, you can't go wrong (except getting there after they're all sold out). Then, there is La Mendocina, represented at the market by its owner, Monica Aveni-Ranii. She provides Argentine fare and I can't get there early enough to try all her delights as some of them sell out early. I have tried her beef empanadas (2 for $5) and the dulce de leche she sells at $7 a jar and I'm definitely a fan! Let's see. I've also purchased organic catnip before. I don't know that my cats can tell that it's organic but they're happy so I'm happy. Dinner tonight consisted of my beef empanadas from La Mendocina, fresh corn and tomatoes from one of the local vendors, and a flourless brownie from the Cookie Goddess. Yes, this is one nice market, indeed! Open from 2 - 6pm on Thursdays mid June to early/mid October.
