This IGA - aside from being amazing in all the ways I described in my original review - seems to be setting the standard for how to properly operate under the current conditions so I wanted to share in the hopes of other grocery stores following their lead. When you arrive here, all the doors are closed except for one and when you enter that one there's a portable handwashing station like you'd see outside portopotties at a festival. So everyone is washing their hands as they enter. Then they are given a cart which has just been wiped down by the staff. Staff are also circulating wiping down the handles of fridge doors etc. Cashiers are using sanitizer between every customer and as you leave your cart is immediately wiped down again. This loving attention will save lives in our community and I really really appreciate it.

First of the location is away from down-town Hawkesbury which gets crowded and hard to find parking at times. The parking lot is a good size with good access to the store and places to store your cart. Maybe that sounds like a weird thing to evaluate but one of my pet peeve is having no place to park and carts in the parking spaces that are available. The entrance way is maintained year round diligently by the staff. When there is a buildup of snow or ice you will see someone on it right away. The store layout is wonderful! Things are spaced out so you don't need to worry about bumping into things while going down an aisle or around a corner. The store is cleaned and kept stocked regularly with a wide variety of foods to meet your needs, including vegetarian, health and organic choices as well as all the junk food you could ever want. Occasionally the veggie and fruit section hasn't met my expectations on quality or price I have to admit. But the deli counter is clean and the services are always pleasant. The butcher is friendly and you can ask him anything, his customer service is great. They have a video/photo section and the guys who work there know their stuff and always helpful when you're on the search for something specific. Overall I recommend it as a place to shop, it may not always have the best price on certain items but it is way far the most pleasant grocery experience in town.

It's really a shame they cannot come to la belle province, Mais c'est ca! Back 10 years ago I got my wife hooked on the lemon garlic salad dressing! To this day it's her favourite salad dressing and we try to buy a case (of 12) twice a year! They have an excellent produce selection, seafood, cold cuts, and cool sauces and house brand Farm Boy brand + and excellent bakery! I've noticed they have boned up on prepared foods and have one of the biggest selection I have seen on K-cups for Keurig! It's really a shame we couldn't have FB in Montreal as it excels at providing a different yet fresh and cool selection of different products! This is yet another grocery store in St Jovite / Mont Tremblant, this one is not among the 3…read morebiggies along the highway but instead is tucked on the sweet little main street Rue Principle, near the Bourassa and across from a bakery and just steps from the rest of the cute restaurants and shops in town. The Metro feels way more like a family grocery store than the ginormous Super C on the highway and if I need to pick up a few quick things after working in the Couleur cafe I'll pop over here. The produce and meats and fish seem fresh, though I'd love to see more of an emphasis on local sustainable providers. Fish in particular should always be clearly marked with its origin since this industry is so dirty and problematic these days. The staff are super friendly and bilingual for the most part, and again this grocery has a surprisingly good selection of local microbrews and then the usual SAQ wines. All in all a great option in the area!

The parking lot can be a bit of a chore getting in and out of. Most of the staff members are friendly and helpful. Especially one stock person who is always cheerful and singing. One staff member today even helped an elderly slow moving with his bags to his car. The overall cleanliness of the store is good. I would say the primary reason I attend this location however is proximity to my house. An average grocery store that I would not go out of my way to attend if I were to move.
